I'm interested in finding out more, does anyone have a website? I can't find anything when googling! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to agree with Saphyre, it's an obsession that gets me off my arse and dancing otherwise I would be sitting in the office for 7-8 hours and then sitting even more on the couch watching TV!

Nothing to worry about! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My bf who doesn' t have any interest in pole at all or watching me pole can even name a few moves and identify them. LOL

I agree with Ms Moxie above that it depends on that person.

I've had no problems with my ex (we were dating 2004 -2008 when pole fitness was still relatively new) and my current bf who were both supportive of me and they both know that it's just a fitness thing.  Funny thing is they both found watching me on the pole boring, lol! Perhaps I'm a crap dancer and can't do sexy dancing nicely. The only qualms my bf has with me and pole is not hurting myself as I've sustained a couple of injuries in the past.

    Hi all,

@Chemgoddess1 – will take a look at the link, thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

I've started to cut at mine as it's beginning to hurt me when I do spins. ๐Ÿ™

I was hoping that it would go away with moisturising cream but they don't seem to do much (I moisturise after I wash my hands and at bedtime).

I bought some gloves from my local chemist that you wear after moisturising at nights and it's supposed to keep the hands moisturised but I haven't noticed much of a difference except holding my toothbrush and stopping it from slipping out of my hands has become a challenge in the mornings. lol!

That's interesting with the 21 times theory – I'm still struggling with my Remi sit as it hurts far too much for me to lean back.  Maybe I'll try it 21 times (on top of I don't know how many already) and see if I get it without getting stuck.  I didn't flex my feet and got stuck in that position so the flexing part is so right too!

With regards to a pole sit, I struggled a lot with that too as I'd feel a burning sensation, when I asked my instructor she advised to push through the pain. I started to train for pole sits by holding it 5 seconds, then once I can manage 5 seconds move onto holding it for 10 seconds and when that is comfortable, on to 15 seconds etc It worked for me and I don't feel pain there.

Hope you get it soon! x

Just an update and after practicing on my pole for a few days it hasn't moved an inch!

The secret: I didn't use the allen key properly – I didn't know that the circle end was to screw in and then the other end to lock… my bad! ๐Ÿ™ Thanks for the tip Xpole

The other thing was tightening the adjuster rod with the two hidden hex keys underneath the adjuster cover. Thanks for the useful video AerialGypsy

รขโ‚ฌโ€นNow I'm too scared to take it off static mode incase it won't stay static anymore! lol! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Bexboo,

I shared my vid of my TG journey on my profile.  What worked for me was practicing iron X and other strength holds like the Chinese flag with stag legs and then going back up into Ayesha.

Also when up the pole, practice the hangman pose and hold that for a few seconds to build up strength.  try not to let your bottom half collapse towards the pole as it makes it harder for you to lift.

I find it is one swift movement when you first start learning the TG lift: you kick yourself away from the pole to give momentum, legs up, push with bottom arm and pull with top arm… all in one movement and no pauses.  Cos of the momentum, this is more like an air TG handspring but very quickly you'll be able to lift from hangman position.

    Hope it helps xxx

    Hi all,

    Thanks again for your replies.

AerialGypsy – it turned out when I took my pole back down that I had to move the adjuster cover up the adjuster rod to see it.  For some reason the adjuster cover can't go over the static/spin base bit.  It's tightened and no longer turning now. Thanks for your tip.

x-pole, I am from London.thanks for the info on the keys.  I didn't know the difference between the ball end and other end either and that might be contributing to the problem, I have tightened the hex screws now with the square end.  I will get some pictures emailed to the address you have provided.

Right now, everything seems really static, tight and no movement – I shall have a pole session tonight on it and see if stays that way. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice, everybody. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Autumn Sky, only one end of the key fits into the hex screw – I tried turning it around and it doesn't fit :/ so strange…. it must be me not doing something right because the xpoles at the pole schools dont shift at all!

    Hi all,

AerialGypsy, I can't find the hidden screws you were point out on your video that tightens the adjuster rod? I'm not sure if I have a diff. model xpert? I got mine in May this year… sighhhh I've noticed the adjuster rod moves too so it could be that but I don't see any screws. arghhhh

I've tried everything from alighing the hex keys with the x on the base and then screwing it tightly with the key then gentle twists and tightening until it won't tighten any further and then the other side but it won't stop shifting slightly.

I think I will give xpole a call and troubleshoot it over the phone.  Thanks! xx

    Hi everyone

Thanks for your advice and thanks for your vid aerialgypsy, that has been helpful. I have been aligning the hex screws with the X mark on the base and tightening them until i can no longer turn the allen key.

Ive taken my pole down as i have relatives over and need the space but will put it back up tomorrow and try these tips- first the suggestion from xpole and then the tightening tip from aerialgypsy’s video.

    Thanks!! Xxx

I have this issue as well, and literally have to tighten up after every spin.  It would literally be tighten, do a move/trick, tighten, do a move/trick, tighten, move/trick, tighten and so on.  I thought it was normal for a while but my pole school has recently got xPerts and they are solid and don't move no matter how hard I spin on it and theres usually a lot of classes and students using them in one day but they are still solidly static.

I make sure the adjuster bit screws are tightened and align the hex screws above the X marks and tighten until I can't turn it anymore. But it still gets loose and moves back and forth.

I will definitely try the advice above. Has anyone had any success in securing their poles into static mode without it coming loose?

Hi Bugsy monroe, I spoke to a lady there who said to come along to a practice session for assessment by one of the instructors. I shall try to find some time to come to your practice sessions. xx

Thanks for your suggestions – I've looked at some of the ones in central London, they don't have the right classes at the right times or are a bit far.

I'm looking for practice sessions over the next two weeks as I have had to take my pole down temporarily…

Spinnesque, what course are you taking? I'm wondering what kind of things they teach for Advanced 1/2/3?
