I’m just waiting to get in trouble with my in-laws about it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

My MIL knows but not my FIL (I think). My dad just found out last year and ive been doing this for 4yrs. Id tell them to shove it if they had a problem with it.

Crap like this drives me even more. I swear im doing a dance to Breakdown by Seether. "Break me down if it makes you feel right. Hate me know if it keeps you all right. You cant break me down with all your might. ‘Cause im so much more than meets the eye." So damn empowering eventhough its about a nasty breakup.

ive gotten to a point in my life where I just dont have any shame. My kids currently know I go to work out (still poleless at my house), my oldest (5) has seen the shoes but has never questioned it. My sitter and my MIL know what I do (I can only imagine what my MIL told my IL’s after FBstalking me and discovered it, my AIL loved it). But if they want to question, let them question. Im proud of what I do and make no bones about it when it comes up. I even have a sticker on the back of my car that reads "Ive been Xposed!", and I pick up my kids from school proudly rocking that sticker.

Very nicely put Georgiamarie! Id be upfront about it. Id explain to her that you do own a fitness pole and that is how you work out. Then ask if she wouldnt be upset if you put it up. She may have ground rules for it. As long as you both come up with a happy medium.

eeeek those rooms are pricey!!!!!! I’d definitely have to find some roomies!

I think alot of us are looking for roomies. I have a friend coming in from OH as well. If I stay all weekend, we will need 2 roomies. Also rms, its a 5star hotel. Im thinking this may be the only time I ever stay at a 5star, why not go for it?
Im still pleading my case to my husband. So im looking for a legit/valid excuse to stay all weekend instead of driving back and forth.

"honey, you have to understand, im going to be so tired out from watching these amazing women feats of strength that i simply will not have the energy to drive back that night"

that might work for ya? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Probably not. Also my daughter has https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_hockey.gif that Sunday morning, I can already hear him compliaining about bring both kids to the rink in the morning. I see where hes coming from, its cheaper in gas to drive back and forth than spend $40/night to stay down there. But then again, I want to rub elbows w/the pros in this sport, make new friends and meet some Veeners I havent met yet. Hes always trying to burst my bubble! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif

This may be a stupid question, but how many spots are available for the workshops? and who is taking what? who is buying what pass? I guess the main question, what’s the itiniery!?

Jessalynn just put a PDF form of the itenteary on the site. As for the workshops Im not sure whats open and what isnt, she might be able to answer that for us.

As for the pass, im getting the all inclusive pass. I want maximize my stay there and want to see everything. Im not too concerned since the DC tour is in my neck of the woods (Arundel Mills Mall).

As for staying, I think alot of us are staying at the Gaylord. That way you dont have to drive anywhere or get lost. I started a thread about find roomies for this. I know Fluer and Empy might be looking for some. Im not 100% sure if im staying overnight. Im still pleading my case to my husband. So im looking for a legit/valid excuse to stay all weekend instead of driving back and forth.

for me, I give the more credit. I couldnt be up there taking it all off infront of men. If I did an amteur night, id keep the privates covered. Ive always talked about opening a club where the dancers were all plus sized (I came up w/the name of Queen as the club). From the guys ive talked to they would be interested. But the mainstream society would not let me up on stage, I dont think id make any $. Ive never judged a stripper (i know girls who are, and some who are former), the ones that bother me are the ones that you know are high/drunk etc. Some girls really make it a good time to be there. Thier job is to charm you and to keep your money flowing and coming back for more. I do talk to alot of them about me poling and they ask what my YT is. To me its a 2way street when it comes to learning. I get ideas from them and they possibly learn from me.

I will go w/or w/o my husband. We typically go to the same one b/c we used to know a bouncer there so we didnt have pay a cover. Plus the girl I learn the pointe shoe idea from works there. Shes a sweet gal and just has fun while doing it. That is her part time job. Some of the dancer love that you treat them like a human instead of a piece of meat.

I cant tell you how damn excited I am for this! As im still trying to plead my case that I should stay at least one night there. I really dont know which workshop I want to sign up for. Whose freaking excited for the Showcase of the Stars? I told a coworker to check out Felix on YT, he buzzed me back in complete shock. hes words were "she had to disclocate something to pull that move off". Can someone just get a ticket to the showcase if they wanted to (spouse, curious friends etc)?

April 20, 2010 at 10:30 am in reply to: Personal Training – focus on pole

I have three types of workouts I mix and match – upper body, core, and lower body (you’d be surprised how much a strong lower body can help). I work these in around my poling schedule so I don’t double up on the same muscle groups.

If there was anything to suggest, I would ask them to create a workout which uses upper body AND core strength at the same time, as this is what you’re going to do when poling. Also work in wrist and forearm exercises as well, there’s no point developing awesome core and bulging biceps if your poor little feeble hands can’t hold you up there! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

This is pretty similar to what I do at the gym. I do core and cardio at every workout. I just started putting in my wrist exercises. Luckily, my husband got his degree in exercise science (hes also a former personal trainer. He gave it all up for a steady paycheck to take care of me and our daughter at that time), so when im stuck on a move and want to work on it at the gym, he gives me advice on which exercises and how to execute them. One thing he has taught me is any exercise you need to keep you core tight during the whole exercise. Your core is the middle of your body, it provides balance from the upper and lower parts. I push myself in the cardio dept so im not so wiped out when it comes to poling the next day.

Also if your anything like me, change up the exercises you do. I get bored pretty quickly and your body will hit a plateau if you keep doing the same thing over and over.
