Mini – I’m having issues with the point – my toes get all cramped up and spasm – where one toe flicks off the world and the others roll into your feet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I have very flat "Flinstone Feet", as my husband calls them . . . Yabba Dabba Do! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Mine get crammed in there as well. If you buy some lambs wool that will help w/’padding’ (Im using padding very lightly here). What about a dance sneaker? You can still point your toes in those, they are flexible. I used to have a pair of ballet slippers from many years ago from when I took dance in HS. Id try those as well. Go to your local dance shop and see what they might recomend. You never know, there may have been a poler there looking for the same thing you are.

Ah this is great! Im quite inspired by everyone i think maybe i need to focus a bit more on cardio cause im not ‘fit’ if i run i get outta breath really easily and ive got no stamina so i think thats what i need to work on!!
Much love everyone!
xxtotally up your cardio. I know that has helped me a ton. Im still tired when im done poling but not wiped out or drained. Me and the ellpitcal at the gym hang out, except I tell it whose boss! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

my hard part is picking out the music. Im torn between ‘One Day Ill Fly Away’ by Nicole Kidman from Moulin Rouge and ‘The Outsider’ by A Perfect Circle. I know I have musically warped mind! I was working out yesterday to a mix of APC and 3OH!3! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Pole shorts: Again Walmart. Danskin has some that a few of the girls like (and they are right next to the sports bras). OP also has some cute teeny shorts out right now and they are like $5.
Can’t help on the lessons.
Yep, just bought 2 pairs of pole ‘shorts’ (we all know its sports underwear!)by danskin, I think i paid about 5/each. I would also suggest Soffe Shorts, they are the shorts the cheerleaders wear, if dancing in your panties makes you feel uncomfortable.
Back to shoes, I have a pair of pointe shoes. Ive used them in a video once. I did a few things on pointe. If you dont have any ballet background I’d advise against it. Its a hell of alot of work to do demi/grande piles en pointe. Whenever your sitting at home point your toes, eventually your body will get used to it. My toes just naturally point now since ive been dancing my whole life.

I know which socks your talking about (and the instructor who wore them). They kinda look like a Mary Jane Slipper Sock right? Thats what they might of been. Im planning on going to the studio tonight, Idk if Vanessa is gonna remember which socks but its worth a shot to ask.

IfI can find a roomie, I’m going to to take the bus (fun 15 hour trip https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif ) but it should be worth it.
I think alot of us are looking for roomies for the weekend.

I have a vid like that saved to my favorites on YT for when they try to shut me down. They almost did with my Cash one. But if they want to put a link up to buy the song off amazon/itunes etc, im totally down for that instead of laying the smack down on me.

The only problem w/meeting at the bar fri night is, its only reserved for All Inclusive folks. So if you got the limited pass, you cant attend. Ive got the all inclusive (wanted to make sure I saw everything!). Im game for meeting at the HoP booth. We could meet a bit earlier than the cocktail hour so we can all go in together.

Quick question, how are we going to be able to find each other at the convention? I’d like to meet as many SVeeners as possible, but I know this is going to be huge, and I can see it getting easy to get lost in a sea of people! So should we arrange for a separate meet and greet or xchange hotel info or something?
At USPDF everyone wore a purple ribbon on thier right wrist if im correct. I was gonna wear either one of my Team Lulu tees or a Mini Cooper tee. I figured those would be a dead giveaway of who I am.

one way to drink more water is to have a big bottle of water sitting in front of you at the computer, possibly with a straw in it if you’d like. If its big you don’t have to get up to refill it as many times. When I have my bottled water in front of me when I am playing around on the computer next thing I know its empty!
I have my 32fl oz water bottle in front of me as I type this. I always make sure I bring my water bottle w/me to work every day.

When I was training, I did a mix between pole and gym. some days I would do Two a Days (pole for an hour, gym a few hours later). Protien shakes are a must as Chem and Veena mentioned. My husband is a former personal trainer so I get alot exercises and nutrition info from him. Protien shakes were the number one thing he pushed me to do.
I also upped my cardio, I always got wiped out after class and didnt want to be winded when the compeition came. It totally helped, I was tired but not winded.
dont over do it. Take some time off, even if its just to relax or go to bed early. Your body does need its time off as well.

MemberApril 28, 2010 at 11:09 am in reply to: Teaching Pole Fitness for the first time….I just started teaching myself. Week one with the girls I started them off with a stretch and warmed them up. Then I taught them some basic spins and then put them into a mini routine. Then at the end of class we did a deep stretch. All 5 girls said they could barely walk the next day! The next week, more spins, sit on the pole review all moves add too routine. And so forth. So far so good. Good luck.
thats how it is at Xpose. Each level has a degree of difficulty. so they may use the same music for the week but each levels routine and what they learn are different.

Ive become a hardcore water drinker within the past few weeks. Im working on eating clean and I knew water was something I needed to get back. I was awesome w/it towards the end of my last pregnancy (mostly due to have severe swelling and borderline preclampsa). Im at a minium of 2l a day.
