I pinched something just slightly by over-stretching 3 or so weeks ago (I was in Bikram yoga and I think I just pushed too far.) But I've backed off regular static stretching and have been focusing on hammie strength and resistance strength for a week now, and I think I've conquered the over-stretch. Minimal pinching normally and no pinching after strength training. And I'm back to where I was 3 three weeks ago on my right and left split, and down 2.5 inches further on my center split. Woohoo!
LOVING the Dara Torres Resistance Stretching iPad App so far. I have always plateaued at about 4 -5 inches from total split– I think this is going to help me break through!!

Just so we can be informed, can you link to the info regarding donation requirements you are referencing? I'm on http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/How-To-Help/Donate-Online.aspx right now – I'm trying to find the charter you mention, but a site search for "Charter" comes up empty.
Or is this found in other literature not available on the web? I just want to know as much as possible about the situation and the organization.

I originally trained on 50mm for the first six months, but I got a 45mm for home. I now prefer the 45mm but continue to use the 50 when I go into the studio, so I get experience on both. I used to think it was such a huge difference, but now I’m not really that phased.

Just wanted to post a link to something I found last night – it's an iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch app based on the Dara Torres DVD – I just downloaded it last night. It's only $6.99 and no waiting for shipping! The first app is legs only; you can get the complete workouts inside the first app.
If you have the DVD it's probably not worth it, but if you don't, it's neat and cheap and quick to download, plus it's mobile, so you take it around with you!! How neat! Just got it last night, gonna try the stretches out today.

I hope they'll expand the categories in coming years – maybe tack a "Novice" (or a better name that I can't think of right now) division on for up-and-comers who aren't quite to the level that the "Amateurs" are at now…which is basically "pro," LOL! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
It would be fun to get more people involved – but I know that must triple the preparation and paperwork and so forth for USPDF.
Very cool, I had SO much fun watching all the gorgeous videos.

Or even next year? I just couldn't swing a trip to the West Coast fast enough for this one. Thanks so much for the special offer!

Some dramatic side lighting might help with defining your outline and the more subtle curves of your body. Play with light, see if that helps.plus it’s fun! 🙂

Kiki- sopranos was my 2nd choice. I would to see someone go all Bada Bing, and Woke Up This Morning is a great jam. That gets my vote!

+1 to what PhillyPoleJess said. I am a former gymnast and I would say it's best to just start from the beginning and learn it all. You'll progress quickly, but it's important to have a good foundation. It's a different type of movement than gymnastics.

It cleared up about 80% of my blemishes within 2 weeks. I had a bad outbreak once when I tried to switch my birth control as well. Switched back to my normal stuff and it cleared up. I recently stopped using all hair product; that seems to make my skin happy too – it’s glowier

This sounds a lot like when I got my new pole (Chrome 45mm xpert)… I found out a few things over time:
a) I hadn't cleaned it properly – I eventually started using (non-bleach) Clorox wipes, then wiping down with a clean towel. Or just using rubbing alcohol. I feel like it really took time and many cleanings over a month or two to get to the 'clean' surface of the pole – this could be my imagination but it's just what I experienced. Seems to be fine now, not nearly as frustrating. The actual surface of the pole feels more grippy to me.
b) I had really dry skin on my legs, especially as it got colder. I found out I was making it worse by showering right before poling – the hot water washed off and dried away all my skin's natural oils. So at first I tried to schedule my pole sessions opposite my showering… but seeing as that is not always convenient, I started using to give my legs some stick back – it seems to sort of mimick and enhance your skin's grip.
I definitely think it takes a little time to get used to a finish or size of pole you're not used to. Hang in there, try different things! Good luck and congrats on the pole at home! You'll love it!
