Buckle should be fine. 🙂 Those are perfect shoes. They should be 6″ platforms though. http://pleaserusa.com/ProductDetail.asp?PROD_CD=DEL608%2FC%2FB&STYLE_CD=DELIGHT-608

:/ My dog would not let me stretch so I guess my challenge starts tomorrow.

Just one elbow, hang the rest of your weight away. I would send you a video, because you can turn it into a dance move, but I’m at my parents for the week and have no pole. :/ I feel weird without one!

A strong elbow grip requires both strength and pain tolerance. We work on the pain tolerance at our studio buy gripping the pole with your elbow, lean away, and do a few laps around the pole… It hurts but you get used to it.

A better backbend!!! 🙂

MemberJanuary 2, 2014 at 9:26 pm in reply to: Tricks on X-Stages/Stand Alone Platinum StagesI hate stages. Am I the only one who hated both of them?
I have had 2 XStages and 1 XSL (I sold the XSL and one Xstage). I know Val from C-bus hates hers too… They are useful to have for public performances, but I can’t stand poling on it regularly and they’re constantly having problems–never safety issues, but just annoyances like spin mode will just stop working for a while. Each one has it’s own quirks. I like dancing on the full stage more than the lite because I have had the base of the lite move while doing spins with high momentum or performing on spin mode.
I know a couple people with the PS poles. They’re also scary to me. I’ve seen one bend significantly during a performance while the dancer was doing an Iron X on spin. The bases physically move with high momentum type moves. Reverse grab spins, corkscrews, spin mode…
Chemmie- Xpole is 10ft if you don’t buy an additional extension. The extension is only like 50 dollars though… PS is now 8-10 ft. -

MemberDecember 24, 2013 at 11:45 pm in reply to: Should I buy this defected poledanzer.com brass pole? They’ve had that notice up on their site for over a year so don’t feel like the “limited time” means you have to decide right away.
Brass varies by manufacturer. Mostly it’s copper/zinc, but there are so many varieties of brass with other metals added to it. I’m not sure what poledanzer’s alloy is, but it may or may not contain nickel. All that being said, I have a nickel allergy, and I am also allergic to all the brass poles I’ve been on. I break out in hives. But I’m allergic to everything…
so it is possible, but I haven’t heard of many people with that issue.
I would try to find someone else who has a brass pole in your area and give it a try before committing.I’ve gotten poles from LM and XP with surface defects for a discount. Totally worth it in my opinion. I have not had problems with either.

Oh, kittens. My first pole.

My other thought would be to buy the shoes a little too big and add some kind of padding to the top of your foot… Those shoes will cut down on bruising and pain, but pressure will still be present and a broken foot bone is nothing to joke about!

I use the pleaser delight 1018 as ankle/foot protectors on occasion. They work well and look sexy doing it. 🙂 http://gagafashionland.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/pleaser-delight-1018.jpg

Me too Irish. The remi doesn’t hurt at all anymore, but the layback is unbearable.

She uses them for bachelorette parties so people won’t get bruises before the wedding. If I recall correctly, I think she said they’re actually more in the way than helpful and uncomfortable.
Additionally, I’d say it’s easier to just learn without if you’re planning on competing. You’ll have to relearn all the moves without them.

They make that shoe with an ankle strap. http://www.amazon.com/Pleaser-Womens-Bondgirl-708-Ankle-Strap-Sandal/dp/B0034DR4HC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1383015363&sr=8-2&keywords=pleaser+bondgirl+708

I have itty bitty hands that don’t fit around a 45 either Charley! I learned on a 50 for 5 years. It does get better. A 45 will always feel more comfortable, but if you work at it, you can do almost the same things on a 50… almost.

Most of the floor marks come from wearing black shoes and doing moves where you put weight on the toes… dragging the toe and certain floor work moves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lwg2yJHXwjk at 1:50 is what causes most of the floor marks for me). The clear shoes haven’t ever left a scuff for me. http://www.myshoeaddictiontoo.com/pleaser/Kiss-208-c.jpg
