Heyyy!!!
I am a 27 year old from Stoney Creek, Ontario and I am addicted to pole dancing. I started about 1.5 years ago with Aradia Fitness in Hamilton. I got up to level 3 but I quit taking lessons because there was no one to teach level 4 so I couldn’t move on with them. However, I managed to teach myself many inverted tricks on my own. I mainly learned from watching videos on YouTube. I have the Xpole in my house!
I really want to get back into lessons but I am not sure where to go. I am interested in your studio and would like to check it out some time. And it’s perfect that your studio is literally in walking distance from me.
MrsNaughtywed, We would love to pole with you. Ontario Pole Jams are great in learning new moves, having a great time and making pole friends that share your passion. We hope to see you there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

I don’t have my center splits and so far from it but I can still do this move gracefully. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif The trick for me is going into a handstand about a foot 1/2 away from the pole and pelvic tucking my hips under as I tighten and engage my legs straight down in a straddle. I also make sure the pole is to one side of my private and not dead center. I was initially scared of this move as I didn’t want to hurt my privates. So I practiced it initially with a bulky feminine kotex napkin to take the fear factor away. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

Are you using it in spin mode only then?
I liked mine better without the pad too! Much more stable.
I use both spin and static. I have never use the collar. The industrial strenth velcro will prevent the platform from lifting and moving. I had over 200 lb men on my star stage with no problem. The only function of the collar according to my handy husband is to keep the platform from lifting if you step on the edges. With the velcro, I really have to pry it hard to separate and disassemble the platform. But get good quality industrial strength velcro not dollar store stuff and let the sticky back cure for 24 hrs meaning do not pull the base from the platform to disassemble for 24 hours. -
My twisted grip shouldermount I find is my strongest but it is not as smooth of a transition for me getting into it from aerial. So I had to learn also to do a cupped grip as Elisabeth’s advance dvd from Liveonce studio shows how to get into it beautifully ,smooth and fluidly from a spinning side climb and just spin into the position to aerial invert into the SM. Now it is my strongest and fluid way to get into an aerial sm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have heard this called THE BRIDGED SCORPIO.

yes i have my extended butterfly, is there a way to get into it from there? hard to find the aysha threads, thats why i suggested a forum topic search the other day https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif
The split grip aysha is my strongest aysha as its the first one I learned. Then I learned twisted grip aysha then elbow grip and this week I just got my forearm aysha. So from the extended butterfly , lower both legs down into a V. Keep the same push pull split grip in place and make sure your hips are out and away from the pole. The body must be facing the pole dead centered but away from the pole with both arms straight doing the push pull action. To get out, you can clamp your legs on the pole like in a basic invert leg position. Or I then lift my legs up to one side of the pole into a straight edge split grip from my ayasha and lower my legs to the floor as slow as i can. Practice it all with crash mat and/or spotter. HOPE THAT HELPS. -
Just got my 1.75 star stand alone 2 days ago! It does wobble, but I feel secure on it. It’s very easy to set-up and take down ~ Tightening the "collar" takes the longest. It does come unscrewed a little when spinning lefty. Overall I think it’s a "good" portable pole.
Flexx10, I do not use the collar at all. I find it very time consuming and ugly looking. Its only fuction is to prevent the platform base from lifting if you step on it from the edges. But the platform will still move slightly from side to side and make a slight noise. But if you apply a strip of industrial strength velcro you wont need the collar and it prevents the base from moving and lifting. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif -
We call the first move the archer with hands. Its called the full archer if you let go of the bottom hand. The second move we call the stag jade. Its a full jade when both legs are split straight. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
