Im thankful for 6yrs with my BF and finally having him back home after 18 long months. He loves me despite the fact that I cant exactly "throw down" in the kitchen….but I tryhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Especially thankful for our two munchkins Kailah and Junior, they've TRUELY been our biggest blessing. My love of pole and Ol'silver out there waiting for me. Our health and waking up to see another day. Food and shelter. My pole shoes(especially my BOOTS), cd's, and outfits. Best of all, the friends I've met here on SV 🙂

Im pretty much right in the middle….however i do tend to struggle with slow sometimes cuz my body rolls and such will start to look stiff. All in all i lean more towards fast than slow music to spare myself some embarassment LOLhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Im a certified booty shaker for the most part….

From the minute i read this, i already had 10 songs picked out for this challenge…i'm worst than my biggest critic, so YES its time for me to see the GOOD in myself https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I definitely NEED to do this challenge…..its much too easy for me to pin point my flaws in a video…..the most i ever seem to like is my music.

Wow…sensual is right…..640 is pretty steep for a lil mynx!

Congrads on taking the first step! I have been smoke-free for 4 1/2 yrs and haven't looked back. I decided to quit halfway through med-school, especially when i realized that the only thing i look forward to during the school day was the lunch break. I was a boaderline CHAIN SMOKER and was buying cigarettes by the box! I tried just quitting cold turkey but….quickly realized that was just DUMB in my case. It took a combination of nicotine patches and begging my BF NOT to buy anymore cigarettes for me to successfully quit. And like https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/bc3555ca-d89d-11df-ab19-12313b090e12 said, it got to a point when i couldnt even stand the smell of smoke anymore. I replaced cigarettes with music and drawing (i have two drawings on my profile) or i'd just go for long walks. Now i have my pole (thank to a USPDF viedo) and so far it has been the best stress reliever https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif. You have my full support!

I canNOT believe how CLOSE-MINDED and IMMATURE people still are about POLE DANCE!!! Im sorry but i could NOT have been in the audience that day cuz i'd have to put Leah in her place. The instructor got maybe TEN words in before those ladies took the spotlight. I read most of the YT comments and this is one DUMB comment that stood out to me
User PRN1111 wrote: " when these kids grow up, they're going to think 'What am I good at?' 'How can I earn money?'…Not that learning how to pole dance as a young kid will lead to this…but it's definitely easy to make that association. Besides, there are TONS of other ways to get exercise, rather than swinging around a pole to music. "
Wow SERIOUSLY!!!
I smile every time my daughter sees me setting up my pole and ask "mommy can i pole with you today". If i could afford itmy daughter would join me in classes as well. When i first moved back home to my mom's, she told me she didnt want my pole up in the house at ALL. A month later she came home and caught me in the living room practicing, so she told i can practice as long as its down before she gets home, then she walked to her room and just before closing her door she said "lyou're getting better by the way". I left my veena account logged in one day and my mom watched a couple of my videos. When i got home she was sitting on the bed and asked me "how long did it take for you to learn all that?" I giggled and told her a little over 2months. Now im allowed to keep my pole up as long as i want(except family functions https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif) My mom hates EVERYTHING thats not christian-like, but she can see my love and passion for this, i think she's coming aroundhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

How on EARTH did you do that booty pop in the splits! I've tried over and over but the pain always gets to me…
-
I used to think my butt would never move too. I was totally stiff as a teen. You just have to practice shaking it a little everyday. One trick my friend taught me was to bend over, put your hands on your knees, and without using your back bounce your booty by bending your knees up and down slightly. Or try bouncing on your toes…kinda like the move i did at the beginning of the video. These moves help the muscles relax and kinda loosen for me. Its like veena said in her videos….doing squats helps you get a feel of what muscles you'll be moving. I STILL cant do that strattle booty bounce thing she did.

I put up a video on here with my booty shaking and a blog with a few tips….i hope they help. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
