@Lyme-I’m still living with her…so many unexpected expenses keep pushing my and my BF back on when we can finally move, which hopefully will be this year. My health is at an all time low but I can’t get a moments peace or rest cuz all she does is complain about how I DON’T benefit the apartment. I guess paying gas, lights,, doing ALL the grocery shopping and more means nothing

Its not my body that’s the problem…my mom just treats me like I’m just some random person off the streets. She yells about everything I do…I clean, its a problem, I don’t clean its a problem…there’s no riht in her eyes and she makes it seem like I’m a crappy mother. She doesn’t help me with my kids at all but always wants to steak claim when they get awards or compliments from their schools. My kids are nothing but bragging rights to her despite her lack of support. My son is autistic and has come a long wayin the past 2 and a half of therapy and school. She acts as thoughshe is the one sits with him thru all his sessions or wakes up at 5 every morning to make sure he gets on his bus safely…my daughter has been the honor roll four times since kindergarten and she swears kailah learned everything from her. The weight loss is just an unfortunate side effect of putting with everything for so long

I've been a stripper since 2008…talking to customers and getting dances isn't an problem. Thank Darcit, I hadn't thought about that…the first one would be faster as I'm wearing knee-high boots and they might get caught in the mesh back of the second one. I can use all the advice I can from you ladies…I had a not-so-good audition 2 years ago…the costume was kinda adolescent and was lace so my heels snagged part of it. I'd go MAD if that happens again lol

@Cali-I was surprised by the on-staff pole teacher too. Most clubs down here feel if you don't have a big A** then you better know some tricks. Problem is the other dancers aren't gonna wanna teach you anything that might take away their regulars.

@DustBunny-I figured the second would be the better choice, just to be on the safe side. I plan to get that one first and the the others I saw after I find out wether I've been hired or not. Good or bad, we're superwomen; from the scars to postpartum and encouraging our children's every accomplishment. Knowing from the moment we first looked into those little eyes, there was NOTHING we wouldn't to provide the best for them and ensure their safety. We celebrate our ability to multitask and still find time to make ourselves look girly, well…..at least in MY case as I don't really gussy myself up very often LOL.

I'm with chemgoddess…I prefer Daskins sports bras seeing as they offer more support and the material doesn't irritate me as much. There's another brand I get from walmart, but I'll can't remember the name. I too have to correct people when I get the random guesses on nationality. People mostly base their guess on my hair and accent (which btw I still don't hear it lol). They assume I'm either, french, jamaican, or hatian…one guy thought I was Jewish and I'm still not sure how he came to that conclusion. So I myself DO have to say I'm JUST black. Apparently I look too "exotic" to be black people tell me, which kinda bugs me. Almost as if thy're saying black ppl are just…meh. I didn't like the words they used in the video because they were down right INSULTING. We look dirty and crusty…SERIOUSLY!!! Had they rephrased everything in a way that was more eplanitory rather than just BASHING an entire race, I would've respected them more.

Hi Sensual, we've all been here at one time or another. Pole hold was my nemesis for my first 3mths of pole. I started poling (and found StudioVeena) back in May of 2011 so its gonna be 2yrs and my pole strength is up and down. I learned the hard way about impatience…I wanted to to get my splits so bad I ended up overstretching and was aching for dayshttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif. I worked on my pole hold for 9days straight which exhausted my muscles, so again I was off the pole. Eventually after much advice from the Veeners on here, I learned to write out and adjust a practice/conditioning schedule that worked for me. Now I've been rather lazy as of late, which is silly cuz I work at a club, but I do make sure to take my 'Intro to Contortion' classes once a week, stretch with my Alethea Austin 'Pure Splits' DVD, and my 'Pole Sweat & Tears' Class also once a week. I learned to stretch the classes out so there's always 1 0r 2 days of rest for my body…so while it may SEEM like you're not making progress as quickly as you'd like, it'll be safer for you body.
