I like Kendra, but I’m not sure about her marketing a pole. I get where they’re goin gwith it as far as recognization factor but she probably would not have been my first choice.
I am intrigued about a floor mount pole. I’m not looking forward to having to borrow the building’s 10 foot ladder everytime I want to put my pole up or take it down. (I have very high ceilings.) But I just don’t know how that would work… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

I think i need a stand mirror. We’re in a loft and really don’t have a lot of walls. Every space around the pole is taken. north, about 10 feet away, is hubby’s computer. (Perfect for veena’s lessons, I can watch from my pole and use the remote to rewind.) east, about 5 feet away, is the foot of our bed. West about 20 feet away is our window. (For some reason the patio across the courtyard fills up when I forget to close the curtains. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif ).
The only place I have for a mirror is the Support beam that’s about 8 feet south of the pole. I have a mirror on it but the pillar is only about 13 inches wide. so I only have enough space for one of those door mirrors from target. I can see the pole and my hands from the side, otherwise I have to be directly facing it.
I want to get some of those squiggly mirrors from IKEA, I can stack them all the way up the beam but I can’t figure out how to add width… so I’m gonna end up with a mirror 10 feet tall and a foot wide. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif I’ve been keeping an eye out for one of those big freestanding mirrors but no luck yet.
Anybody have any ideas?

You picked your apartment because it has the perfect place for a pole. (But honey, I really like the loft…)
You chewed out the poor fedex customer service guy for 10 minutes because you missed your pole delivery and want to pick it up TONIGHT. Not three days from now. (I was in the shower, I mean really.) And I was late to work because of it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

I have to add to Hockey_Soldier’s post. Any surgeon worth his salt should have a portfolio of before and after pics. Once you find an accredited one make sure the look of his patients is the look you’re going for.
I personally am all for surgery. If you can afford it and you want to take the risk, why not? When i get to my goal weight and I still have my DD’s (I think according to the bra size chart my 42 DD’s will be 36 E’s by then) I’m getting a reduction. My sister had one and it’s made her verry happy. It would be so nice to be able to wear a sports bra or even a tank top without having to think structurally. (Or having a massive strapless bra.)
And also I wanted to point out that a tummy tuck may not be what you’re looking for. Panniculectomy is where they JUST remove the hanging fat and skin, they don’t touch the muscles like they do in a tummy tuck. The recovery time is much shorter and it’s a lot easier on your body. That might be something to think about.
check out this site, they have information about what questions you should ask a surgeon and how to find a qualified one. http://www.yourplasticsurgeryguide.com/
Good Luck!!

Awwww… Veena *tear* That was wonderful. And may I add: you are the pole goddess for being able to do all that one-armed!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

If it’s not absestos and your really want to take it down, just spray the offending area with water until damp, let soak, spray again and scrape with a putty knife. It should take it all off, just make sure to lay down a drop cloth because the process is messy.
I hate popcorm ceilings and will take them down any chance I get.
If you want to patch it back up again they sell single use spray cans of the popcorn and plaster mix at any home improvement store.

I told my mom it was removable and she said, "That’s ok honey, just tell your stepdad that the building used to be a fire department."
I could not stop laughing. Good to know that I can get it down that quick in case of a Mother-in law emergency though.

I feel you, I’ve been trying to get a pole of my very own for 2 years. Everytime I get close something comes up.
Two weeks ago I had the money, had placed the order and had to cancel cause the stupid cat ate some lillies. Instead of a pole I got a $400 vet bill. Joke is when my pole finally arrives I’ll probably end up kicking the dumb cat in the head during a spin and have to make another emergency trip to the vet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif (Fortunately a dumb cat is a tough cat and he’s fine after the lilly incident.)
Anyway, pole is finally ordered and on it’s way….. once they get them back in stock. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif Hopefully I will have my pole up by the end of the month. You’ll get it, I know you will. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

They’re nice and stable to dance on (and I’m no delicate flower, size 12/14 – 175 lbs.) if it can handle me doing a sundial then it’s not going anywhere. The only thing I didn’t like was the platform is metal and it was LOUD, I guess that’s more of a personal preference though.

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif OMG! I LOVE Lush! My hubby would kill me if he knew how much I spend on Lush! Any discounts?
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gifYup, that’s why it’s my part time job. SA’s get 50% off. (Says so in the hiring section of the website.) I think pretty much everything I make goes back into the store. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif But damn my skin looks good. And random strangers will follow me around just to smell me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

If your insurance won’t cover the IUD you can always go to a family planning clinic (Like Planned Parenthood) and get one there. They usually work on a sliding fee scale based on your income so it might save you some money.

Ohhh… poor thing that’s happened to me a couple times. My period is SO irregular. Except when I’m on the Nuvaring. LOVE the ring. I’f you’ve already had kids when you go into the doc’s as soon as you’re sure you aren’t ask them about Mirena. It’s a safe IUD, (not like the icky ones of the 70’s) it’s good for either 3 or 5 years then it’s removed. you can also have it remove if you’re planning on trying.
Might be a good option for you.
Good luck hon.

Welcome!!!
It’s great weight loss. I’ve gone from a size 22 to a 14. (In about a year and a half.)
I’m super excited for you!! And just wait until you tell people how you lost the weight, the reaction is always priceless. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Is it your insurance holding you back?
I know some kinds need a referral for a specialist and some don’t. If you can’t get a referral sometimes you can call in and get an exception directly from your provider. Be stubborn. You pay them, they should work for you. Eventually you’ll win. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif -
Works the same on a palm Centro too. I’ll let you know if it works on the Pre Saturday.

Thanks, I think I might try adding a piece of wood as extra support.
As far as the floors go, it’s more like my landlord is VERY protective of them. I don’t think heels would damage them personally but….
I’m more excited that the xpole has the swively base since I literally have no exactly level spot in my apartment. (Again OLD building, my entertainment center leans so far askew that the drawers open by themselves.)
I’m so excited, I’ve been waiting for this pole for over a year and a half. It’s always been something, last week I was ready to order and the stupid cat ate a lilly. I learned that all lillies are toxic for cats and a bouquet can cost about $400 if you have a dumb cat… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif Luckly the cat is OK and I only had to put off my order date a week. I order tomorrow or friday, wish me luck.

I can’t say it’s awful, but if it helps I’m more of a Saint Paul girl. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif If it helps we’re currently beginning road construction and mosquito season.
Thanks for all the welcomes everyone.

Did anybody else thin the guy in the gold suit looked like Uncle Fester? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I’ve danced on an x-stage, very fun very sturdy. But you have to get used to the face that the base is metal, and NOISY.
I’m curious about the gloves though. Might have to maks a trip to the sporting goods store. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
