Hi. I have had trouble ordering from Poletice for the past 2 months! They are not delivering or responding. I love them but do not recommend them anymore. I am afraid that they are out of business

Anybody have any ideas for a larger mat ? i am working on pops and I just ordered the yoga direct mat – it looks fine but is so small I need to put other pillows around it in case i fall and miss the mat – it is also not quite large enough (at 5 feet) so 2.5 feet each side for my handspring stance so still a bit awkward
Any ideas?

stage poles scare me soooo much!

Acupuncture can help – but I think deep tissue massage and chiropractic help me more in general – especially if it muscular

I do find that it is much less spinny. I mean almost no spin. Does anyone else have this problem?

MemberNovember 27, 2014 at 2:07 pm in reply to: Why can’t I do the same moves on a bigger pole?I have a 45 at home and my studio uses 50s. The 50 is so much harder to work with and I struggle with moves at the studio that are strong for me at home. On the up side when I get home from class it is so nice to be on my own pole again
It is also important to warm up both yourself and the pole. Especially if you are feeling slippery or your pole is new If your pole room is a little cold run a space heater for 10 minutes before you start. It will make your pole nice and sticky. If you don’t have a space heater you can run a hair dryer over the pole -
I just purchased a stainless x pole. I switched from my chrome due to a nickel allergy and I am so happy I did.
I do have slippery days and it is best to keep yourself and the pole as warm as possible If you don’t have a reason to go with stainless (allergy etc) I would stay with the chrome.
But FYI. All new poles are a little slippery for a little while

MemberJuly 25, 2014 at 7:30 pm in reply to: Very frustrated…….wil I ever be able to pole with out slipping???I agree with Phoenix Kazree. But Phoenix is always awesome!!!! I use poletice then tite grip then reapply dry hands as needed. Sometimes I need to stop and wash my hands. I am getting ready for my first competition and the truth is that you can last 4 minutes in a program with that combo. I put a lot of body grip at the end and all my hand grip moves in the beginning. Maybe I will change that but this is my first time
I do hate itac and any other kind of body grip. I feel that they tend to melt and ruin my hand grip. Also when I am warm I don’t need them

HI I went last year and can’t wait for this year. To answer some questions. I took some workshops last year that were over my skill level. The workshops there are full and if they are working on moves that require (for example) a handspring and you do not have one yet you will not learn as much. I do recommend staying in your skill level.
Privates depend on the individual instructor rate. I booked one already and I recommend it but every instructor at expo has a rate. Email Fawnia and tell her who you want the private with and she will help you
Also book workshops ASAP. Many will sell out!
I would love to meet anyone else who is going. I can’t wait!

MemberJune 11, 2014 at 9:09 pm in reply to: What moves do you struggle with that you should be able to do easily?CAR!!!! I hate this move. Some says I can hold it and sit up, some days I slide right down the pole and sometimes I am too afraid to even go into it. And I always try about 3 inches from the floor. I am so glad to read here that I am not the only one who hates this move. I feel a little better!!!
Also superman. I think I have a mental block because no matter what my teachers say I can’t get into it. I didn’t care for a long time but I am now looking for an attractive entrance into air shoulder mount and I want it again grrrrrrr.

Layback is my nemesis move so I can’t help you there! For Gemini make sure your foot is pointed down. That will create the correct lock with the knee. Look at your foot and check! Squeeze the knee as hard as possible If you are just learning Gemini it will hurt. Also remember that your opposite ( to the knee on the pole) waist and shoulder are touching the pole. Use that shoulder and let it press against the pole. It may help to release the opposite hand first and press the back of that arm against the pole then release the other hand!
