I did the same thing, the puzzle mats on my carpet. We replaced carpet months ago and I regret not having laminate laid in the middle of the floor where pole is 🙁 I think as time goes on, there will be obvious outline with sun from the window, but oh well!!

I think you already hit the nail on the head about some days rock and other days, egh! We have all come to realize patience is the key, not comparing to others, etc. I have always been active in some sort of fitness, but when I started pole (@52 yrs old!) it was the most difficult thing I've ever done. I couldn't do a simple pole hold, or anything!!! I had to start all over with fitness, strength building, etc.
Along the way I had to learn to have fun (even though it doesn't look like it in my practices) and appreciate what I have accomplished.
Welcome to the pole journey AND to studioveena!!!

That is sooo gracious. I usually respond that it's okay. For me it's good to practice on a 50mm also because 45's are not always available when going to different studios for classes/workshops, etc. But I love my Twirly Girls co-polers/friends 🙂

Even though it's not always available, at least it's an option sometimes and for certain tricks for practice. After practicing on a 45mm for quite a few months at home I wondered about working on a 50mm again, did it today and it was not a problem at all. Yay! 🙂

Veena's online lessons are the best. I had been inverting when my local studio closed and thought I was doing well. However, when I found sv discovered I had to backtrack and learn inversions correctly. I highly recommend the year membership, the cost is sooo reasonable. Follow in order as much as possible, don't rush ahead and be patient with yourself. Don't compare to what others are doing and time frame, everyone is different.
My membership ran out and I can't wait till I can sign up again, especially for the flexibility and other training videos she has now.
Everyone started at different levels of fitness. I started at 52 yrs old and had been very active in power flex and aerobics at local gym. I thought I was totally in shape for pole, but found that it was almost like starting over with fitness. It is so different than anything I've done physically and had to work my way up with strength, stamina, etc.
What kind of pole do you have? Welcome to sv which is full of encouragement and support 🙂

This sounds like an excellent opportunity to actually meet veneers finally! 🙂 This pole convention is very close to me and don't know if it will be so close again.

I'd like to know if something happens. Depends on schedule, time difference etc. It's been a long time since I've used MSN, guess I could check it out again. I have Skype account.

When I heard David Owen say it, I didn't know what he meant so he had to explain to me. I didn't tell him how I pronounce it. I wonder how many others use different accent on it?? Does this fall under this thread? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I'll have to swing a day or two off work, but that's the plan!!! BTW, how is "veneers" pronounced?? I say it 'veneers' and someone else said "veneers" LOL There's no difference in print!!! I'll have to get someone on webcam during Friday chat.

Sure would be awesome to meet as many veneers as possible! it's about a 5-6 hour drive for me, but at least it's in California and not on the east coast 🙂
