I am not single this year but ive had terrible valentines days in the past so its become a day i dont really look forward to, but this is the first year im with the new bf so i figured we shoiuld do something….sooo were going to white castle! they set it up with candles and decorate it and you actually have someone come take your order, were going on a double date with my friend and her bf and her and i are getting really dressed up because whats better than eating sliders in a fancy dress? nothing!
and if you are single just treat it like another day and then go buy up all the 50% off candy the next day….not like i ever did that before…*cough cough*

Umm you need to go to a doctor miss lady! Find yourself a new one, talk to your friends/family who have a doctor they like and maybe someone can refer you and hopefully its within your insurance, otherwise just go to one of those sliding scale clinic places. A lot of people turn their nose down at those but my ex was really sick and didnt have insurance so he went to one, got prescribed generic meds and was better in a few days all for less than $20. My family is the opposite in that we will go to the doctor at the slightest onset of pain or discomfort, which probably is extreme but I had symptomless HPV and if I hadn’t gone to the gyno for my first pap at 18 I would probably be quite far down the road to cervical cancer right now. I dont mean to scare you but it’s really better to be safe than sorry so you dont end up ignoring something that could potentially be serious.
As far as the headaches, I have been a long time sufferer of them too except I get these things called "cluster headaches" that are like sharp intense pain over and over so its not the same as a migraine but they are for sure stress related, I can literally chart the times in my life that I’ve had them and link them to some sort of major stress going on. So if you can find some ways to relieve your stress naturally…I’m sure it’s hard with your hubby and daughter and working but for me poling is a stress reliever, as is hot bubble baths with a glass of wine/dark chocolate/some kind of tasty treat, etc. I’ve heard yoga is awesome but I have yet to try it although I’m sure I’d be a much better poler if I did it!

I always tell my boyfriend I want liposuction and he says to wait until we have kids but I want it now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I used to be against cosmetic surgery but now after knowing women who have had it my perception has changed. I am all for accepting and loving my body, but I know that the body type I have is not the one I want and no amount of diet or exercise will change that, so I posted this thread to see what I can do to control it on my own before I start looking into something like cosmetic surgery. I am going to start kicking up my workouts but I have thought of this as an option if I’m climbing away on the stairmaster for months and months and dont see any results. Has anyone here had a tummy tuck/liposuction before?

Maybe we can start a "bikini body" thread with some before/during/after pictures? If I have people lighting a fire under my butt I will be much more likely to get on the treadmill! @Veena, know "spot" fat loss doesnt really exist but even if I can tighten and tone up my tummy area so some of the fat gets redistributed I would be perfectly happy with that. Like I said I’m not really concerned with losing any weight per se I would just like some things to shift around a bit which I have noticed has been happening since I started poling, but I know I’m not doing as well as I could be with my workouts.

MemberFebruary 3, 2010 at 9:37 pm in reply to: gyno called me to come in for a biopsy 🙁Ok I probably should retract my "manwhore" statement but my ex had been with about 13-14 people before me which is fine, but the girl that he got HPV from was a girl who he had a one night stand with and didn’t use any protection. It seems really unfair that I’ve gone through this for four years now and it was just caused by one night of being stupid! Which makes me want to add that if you are going to hook up with someone PLEASE use protection!

MemberFebruary 2, 2010 at 6:13 pm in reply to: gyno called me to come in for a biopsy 🙁Ok so I just got back from the gyno and when he looked at everything under a microscope he said he didn’t visibly see anything that looked alarming but we can’t be totally sure until I get my biopsy results back a week from today. It’s definitely a good sign he didn’t see anything though, and he said I do have a slim chance of developing cervical cancer but if I get it it wouldn’t develop for another 7-10 years so I have plenty of time to have a baby before then in case they do eventually have to do a hysterectomy. I’m still concerned I will get my biopsy results back and I may have to have another procedure where they remove more of my cervix but I discussed it with my boyfriend and we both want kids and I’m 110% sure he’s the person I’m going to marry so if that ends up being the case we might just speed up the marrying and baby having process so I can at least have one of my own before anything drastic needs to be to be preventetive. I will let everyone know as soon as I hear anything else but I really want to thank everyone here for all the texts and facebook messages and support….I know I don’t know a lot of you personally but I really do feel like you are all my friends that I could count on no matter what, and I hope everyone feels that they can come to me if they ever need anything! This is such an awesome site and I have posted so many non pole related issues on here and everyone has stepped up right away and offered me advice and consolation and I can’t say how much I appreciate that! I wish I could afford to bake a bunch of cupcakes and mail them to everyone as a thank you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I have also been thinking a lot about Gina/Caramel_Dlite lately, I remember talking to her about this issue a while ago and she had been through something similar where they found cancer in the same area and it was treated so I think she’s been my guardian angel through this and has protected me from anything really terrible happening.
I also want to say it’s awesome that a few of you have told me this has inspired you to get pap smears and STD tests, it’s scary but it’s so much better to find out and take care of yourself. My gyno today was saying he has tons of women who find out bad news and refuse to come back because they’re scared to take care of it. I am very proud of everyone that stays on top of their feminine/reproductive health so you should all feel really good about doing something for your body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif (I just really like bunnies! hehe)

MemberFebruary 1, 2010 at 11:32 pm in reply to: gyno called me to come in for a biopsy 🙁Thanks you guys! My big day is tomorrow so we will see how it goes…I’m trying to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best, but I will let everyone know what my doctor says tomorrow and what the results of my biopsy are. I’m getting pretty scared but my mom and boyfriend are going with me so I at least have someone to hold my hand on each side!

Aw thank you so much! I am nervous but hoping for the best…I know I’m not going to die even if it does turn out not so good so that’s slightly comforting https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I will keep everyone posted as soon as I hear anything, I am so blessed to have everyone’s support from here! You are all such a wonderful family!

I am very sorry to hear this story! But you have a very good point, I said sort of the same thing in my post about my current health issues, if I had never gotten a pap smear I would probably have the early stages of cervical cancer right now and need a hysterectomy to treat it. Lots of things are preventable or treatable if you take the time to go check them out, my dad is always terrified of going to the doctor but going to the doctor and getting medicine or whatever you need to take care of a problem is way less scary than dying from it! Everyone should take advantage of the technology we have now to detect things very early on so they are treatable, I am a huge advocate of this from personal experience!
-
I’m glad you were inspired to get a pap smear because of my post! It really is SOOO important to stay on top of these things…..I totally understand you worrying (my biopsy is tomorrow and I’m a train wreck right now) but it’s so much better to find out if you do have something and get it treated and taken care of than letting it go unnoticed because you’re too scared to find out. It’s awesome you’re getting an HIV test, even though it probably is very unlikely you have it it’s still a good thing to find out. The pap smear is the only way you can detect HPV and I’m totally not saying you have it but it is extremely common among people who have had a few partners, I had only had one partner and I ended up getting it! But the good news is if you do end up having something which hopefully you dont, almost all STI’s are treatable and can be taken care of if you stay on top of them. I have been dealing with this HPV/abnormal pap smear thing for going on four years and it is beyond a pain in the ass not to mention emotionally and physically stressful from having all sorts of gadgets shoved in my cooter…..but if I had gone these four years and never been tested there’s a good chance I would have the beginning stages of cervical cancer and they might have to take pretty drastic measures to treat me for it. I know it’s scary to wait, but in the end it’s much better to know if there is something wrong and take care of it than be in denial and have to do something really drastic/life threatening to treat it. Be proud of yourself for going, I will send you positive thoughts! Keep us posted on your results which I hope are positive https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I know!!! I remember shopping for bras once with my mom when i was in high school and the only bra in my size was a $75 Wacoal bra with LEAVES ON IT!!! It was hideous and insanely expensive but my mom insisted on buying it for me anyway and it was terrible (but also pretty funny now that i look back at it)
Beccagirl…I have also had bad luck with VS bras breaking on me and I can barely ever find my size in the stores as it is. I have had much better luck with Frederick’s of Hollywood, they stock a lot of larger sizes in the actual stores so you can try them on and the quality of their bras is decent for the price if you take care of them the way youre supposed to. And I have managed to find some cute ones in my size, it was a miracle!! They also carry other lingerie/corsets in the bigger cup sizes too. I’ve had good luck with the site Figleaves.com but I generally hesitate to buy a bra I can’t try on but I have ordered from them before and they stock a very wide variety of sizes.

MemberJanuary 27, 2010 at 5:54 pm in reply to: gyno called me to come in for a biopsy 🙁thanks for the information everyone!!!! it is putting my mind at ease a little to know people have gone through major surgeries from this and still been able to have healthy pregnancies. i would be devastated if i found out i couldnt have kids because of this even though i know its a drastic outcome its still possible and thats my biggest fear about the whole situation but it seems like there are ways around it and if not there’s always adoption https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif i feel very touched that so many of you offered me support and are keeping me in your thoughts/prayers, that means a lot to me! i dont go in for my test for another week so i wont know any information for a while but i will keep you guys posted as soon as i hear anything.

I’m glad other people share my pain! Although mine aren’t big enough to hinder my pole moves but I have to very very careful doing any inverted moves because my boobs for sure pop out in regular bras and it’s gotten to the point where I have to wear two sports bras with the thick straps to keep them in and they are quite ugly! In my videos I put on my cute one and just edit the parts where they pop out https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I would definitely love a pole line for bigger girls, I’ve always said I wanted to design a pin-up inspired lingerie line that starts at C cups and up because every time I bra shop all the really pretty bras are in the teeny tiny sizes and the grandma bras are the big ones, its very sad!

MemberJanuary 26, 2010 at 11:28 pm in reply to: Can somebody introduce me to Superman? 😉I had the hardest time ever with this move but i got it as soon as i figured out how much to arch my back to give my top hand leverage to balance myself. Also if the pole isnt high enough up between my legs (like if its not basically right up against my crotch) i cant let go because i will fall. StellarMotion told me I can exit out of it by doing an inverted thigh hold so when I tried it I was able to get into SM from thigh hold but not out of it! However the other day I thought maybe if I slid my top arm down to lowered myself and grabbed the pole with my bottom arm I could go into a cross ankle release and it worked! Except it’s a cross ankle release where I am facing the pole so I’m not sure if it has a different name but hopefully you get the idea https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I had a hard time with this one and it was very frustrating for me but you’ll get it for sure!
