uggg.. I've been working on this move too. Im not sure if it's that my backs not flexible enough or if I have an ilrational fear of twisting or dropping my hips or both! I have the strength to hold but get stuck when it comes to lowering my hips enough.

I would add to the begging list for a tutorial.

IDK, I never had a tech from X-pole come help me, I don't compete and I don't have a studio and I get no endorcements. I still love my xpert pole, it's been stable and no problems at all. I leave mine up for long period of time.. no problem. I don't have issues you're describing about buckling sharp points or anything else, and they're customer service has been fantastic.
Honestly I think the UK division offers better assistance than the US division does as I've dealt with both, but I wouldn't say the US division is bad either.
I feel for you with your problems, but I think it's wrong for you to elude t all the polers out there who are saying they like their product is being bought off by the company. To me that's just being childish IMHO

Hi Ladies,
I can tell you I got my 'real' Xpole in June, after a disastrous experience with a fake xpole. I have to tell you my experience with the company has been beyond wonderful. Their customer support has been top notch and without going into much detail about my situation, I know for sure that they care very much about their products. I've not had any issues with the x-joints as described or even slippage. I don't take mine up and down a lot and it's not over 12 feet, although I was wanting to extend mine that high.
I would say if you're having that much problems to contact the main company at http://www.x-pole.co.uk/contact-us.html.
Good luck.

I believe you are suppose to use the 200mm X joint with that. If in doubt, call or email Xpole USA.

Thanks all… I missed it.. but see combos have been already requested… thanks for the consideration and hope all is well!

Well I have to say, XPole US and XPole UK have been EXTREMELY helpful with me on the fake that I purchased. They have gone out of their way to make it right and help me go after these people who are knowingly selling fakes but using Xpoles trademark items.
In the event that Xpole people see this, Thank you Paul and Heydi so much for your assistance.
I would suggest if you buy one of these fakes by accident, take pictures, gather all the information, call ebay and call Xpole. They are proscuting these people.
-
FYI: bewarned. They are selling better X-pole fakes now, that has a metal dome, and white rubber at the top, bags wrenches and everything. The one I bought (prior to finding this site) was from a seller that called UK-Direct on ebay. The bags are screenprinted with X-Pole's UK address on them and comes with a glossy manual. The DVD on close inspection has a label on it verses screen printing and at the base where you would turn on or off spinning, there is no X-Pole name stamped in it.
I've called ebay to file a claim agaist this seller but unfortunately for me, it's been too much time (by a month) to get my money back however I hope to get this seller off Ebay. I confirmed mine is a fake by Heydi at X-pole USA (she was incredibly helpful) but if you've bought one from these people, please let xpole us know and call ebay to file a complaint. This seller was known to sell fakes by Xpole US.

Great job on you're silks!

Love love love love love my foam roller and Veena's new tutorial series on them.
I've used them before at a cross fit gym I use to go to but now between all the climbing I do on poles and silks, it's essential for my back and hip flexors.I just bought a 6" firm roller from Dicks Sporting good for $29.00. The nubby one's look fantstic, but the plain firm ones do the job great!

Also I think there's a lot to be said for muscle memory. I know from other activities that you're body bounces back well.. and it remembers. I think going into it as strong as possible always helps recover rates. I would love to hear others experiences with it though.

Thank you for this post, I was going to post a similar thread, until I saw this. Im planning on scheduling a tummy tuck this fall and the time off certainly is important to me. From what I know, the biggest thing is that you can't lift anything for the 6-8 weeks, however you can start stretching and moving a week to two weeks post op. So I think going into it with a plan, communicating with your doctor(s) and knowing what proceedures they're going to do is important. Not all people need full tucks, many can get by with lipo and mini tucks.
I feel all you momma's out there.. after having a 10 pound baby, gaining 80 pounds, loosing 60 + pounds, and working out like a mad woman, the exess skin and stretched muscle is somewhat defeating. Im just sayin, I don't mind my body and Im happy with myself, however.. I feel that it's about as gone away as it's gonna get without surgery… and the scars can't be much worse than my c-section ones already are. They did a crappy job on mine as they were in a hurry. :/

Thanks, I got the invoice and paid the yearly subscription.
I also canceled the re-occuring (20 dollar) payment from PayPals side.If there's anything else I need to do please let me know otherwise we should be good.
Yea, Thanks. -
LOl, I hope I answered. Because of my work/travel and all the people that email me, and trying to keep work/personal emails separate, I sometimes miss some. I tried for Snow Flow, however to make sure I got back with everybody. You should have come, it was a great time.
No worries though, we're planning on having Snow Flow again this coming year. Also, I will be hosting Ann Humphries in September and Baxter in October (of Hoop Path), which I am positive that Krista will come down too.
I work for a software company during the day, but as long as there's wifi, I can meet for lunch or coffee during the week so just let me know. Yes, I was going to messange Mike also.. lol.. the word gets out fast in this town. He'll probally be wtf? Anyway, looking forward to getting together and I would love to come out sometime. I have an xpole in my basement. It's not the prettiest place to work (yet) however I have mirrors and at least a place to practice.
Talk to you soon Maria!

I just head yesterday through the grapevine that Mike is back, but I don't know for how long. I am under the impression that he's at least doing privates and such, but idk. He hasn't contacted me either.
Turners websites a mess. We'll change that by fall (hopefully) and will have adult aerial class this fall. Silks (hammock and then untied when you get enough strengh), lyra, ladders and we'll add some more later this year. I've been teaching adult classes there, but I will be stopping until fall after this month.
Would love to know when Krista comes down, she's fun. I saw her in Indy a few months ago at a Hoop Path event that Lynn was holding. I will find you on FB and would love to come out. My girl (Sierra) would be glad to show you how to hoop, and I can't keep her out of the lyra, silks or now.. my pole either. Oh well, I would rather encourage a healthy kid than a lazy one!

Chemgoddess1 — LOL, yes it's a very small world! I haven't met Matt, but have corresponded with him. You know, you can't be in these small secular groups without the circles overlapping often! You should come down the next time the Cleveland group makes it's way here or at least to Cincy!Thank you both ladies! Im so happy to meet some other people in this area!
Fantastic, it's funny how the universe brings people together!
Yea. -
Hi Maria,
It's quite possible that yes, we've emailed each other. I've know Krista via Lynn, and just very recently learned that she poles. I had no idea! LOL, the world gets very small doesn't it.
I also know Mikie well. He's actually back in town (fyi), I however stay pretty much at Turners which is currently flooded :(. I teach youth circus hoops, and work on aerials there. Im hoping to work with Mikie some again while he's in town, but June's rapidly approaching and I'll be gone most the summer. With that said, I would love to get together with you. I take classes at MDF, but am really out here on my own with pole for sure. I have a lyra and silks so we should plan a play date soon. If you find me on FB my number is in my info, so call or contact me.
Oh btw, the friends request was here on site. Besides Ashauna, I have no other pole friends on FB 🙁Look forward to seeing/meeting you soon! I live downtown, so if you're in the area or would like to grab coffee… please call me. Yea!

Oh most awesome @chemgoddess1, thank you. I know many of the people on the Cleveland Flow Collective site.
Colleen Hartman is one of my best friends and is teaching hoops. I would certainly suggest contacting her through FB. She teaches at Jasmin Dragon, here's the address.http://bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&pc=FACEBK&mid=8100&where1=111+Main+Street%2C+Chardon%2C+OH+44024&FORM=FBKPL0&name=Jasmine+Dragons&mkt=en-US · http://bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&pc=FACEBK&mid=8100&rtp=adr.%7Epos.41.58123_-81.2038_Jasmine+Dragons_111+Main+Street%2C+Chardon%2C+OH+44024&cp=41.58123%7E-81.2038&lvl=16&sty=r&rtop=0%7E0%7E0%7E&mode=D&FORM=FBKPL1&mkt=en-US

I know they have silks and some other classes. I believe the studio that you are referring to is where Renee Kellog is teaching. I know her too.. awesome hooper. I recently had a workshop weekend here called Snow Flow Fest, where I had a strong Cleveland representation and Nick Wheeler came down to teach poi. Not sure if you know any of these people yet, but you all should meet for certain. They're fantastic people.
You can find me on FB too, just look up rhellemans2@gmail.com. Thanks for your help and information!

I also must say @Veena Im in awe of your body after 4 children! Are you serious?
IDK, I had a baby that was > 10 pounds & a rushed C-Section left serious lasting effects on my lower abs. I've lost 60 of the 80 pounds I gained with her but it's taken me almost a decade to do it… Im so jealous of those of you who can have children and bounce right back. At the same time, very inspiring. I was impressed and encouraged by it. Thanks. -
Thanks for the response. I have found her, I believe and sent a friends request some time ago, but haven't heard from her yet. I probally know also who she took a silks class from as I've been climbing around on them for the past two years. Actually poling has increased my strength dramaticly for silks, which pleases me greatly. I've said to many friends, next to silks, the pole is the hardest thing I've ever attempted, hands down. (I love the odd look on their face when I say that).
I do know that Karol is going to be in Columbus, but i have a workshop in Cincy this weekend with a hooper GF that I only get to see once a year, so unfortunately I am going to have to pass on it. When my daughters out of school we go to Nashville to stay at my BF's house, so Im hoping to meet up with some polers there. I will be taking silks and lyra classes from a gym in Brentwood, but if there's any N-ville polers out there, contact me too.
One of my best sista's in the hoop lives in Cleveland though… I've been promising to come up sometime this summer. I would love to get together with you though, especially since you're in the >40 club. 🙂

Hi Webmaster,
Can you send me a paypal request for the yearly subscription so that I don't have to cancel and resubscribe> I think my renew date is May 18th.
