i´m not sure, but i think veena did this also once? of course also in a more controlled way than shown in this video.
in a controlled way i think it looks really pretty, in this video it looks quite dangerous. i think this is only a trick for really really really advanced and experienced pole dancers with a lot of strenght

i saw miss dirdybirdy doing one handed spins on a spinning pole. she just "hangs" on the pole with one hand while the pole continues to spin. it looks so beautiful.
i would love to be able to do that, too, but it´s so hard on my 50mm pole.
@brumby: thanks. i don´t know which video you found. some days ago someone thought my phoenix was on a spinning pole (like veena said, sometimes it´s hard to see if it´s a spinning or static pole). i only can do a twisted grip lift in spinning mode

i think you have to upload you´re photo somewhere. i use imageshack.us

i sometimes do a variation between the scorpio and gemini. i start in one of them an bring my belly to the front of the pole. like this i´m right in the middle of both.
i first tried it like this because i felt like i had better grip in this position =)

thanks for the tipp. they even have a germany site, so shipping will be cheap =)
and they have so many other nice stuff, love the bag and also the posters in your shop!

love all that beautiful stuff, especially the personalized charm. also very cute, that you´re husband wears pole shirts! my boyfriended always wanted one with a silouette of me on the pole and the text "My girlsfriend is a Pole Dancer". Maybe this will be his Christmas present =)

i saw a photo of a split grip aysha on your profile. maybe practice to lower your body slowly from there to get some more strenght, then you won´t need more momentum.
furthermore for me the cartwheel was a lot easier to learn than the handspring. maybe it´s the same for you?
you can also ask someone if experience to help you by holding your hips.
good luck

that´s so great paulette! aerial silk is a lot of fun and a great workout =) i had my first class last week and will have this evening my next one. the day after my first class my hands and forearms even hurt a bit. since all the time i pole i never had sore muscles, so i´m sure this will help me to improve also my pole dancing

how funny, i have the same chairs on my balcony =) i got them from my uncle when he moved into a new apartment. maybe i´ll use one of those for the challenge instead of my wooden chair
-
i used a wooden chair for my firsts trys on chairwork and really liked it. it´s very stable and still not too heavy.
in this video they use wooden chairs, too and they spin it, do elbow stand and a lot of great stuff on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvjxbup4c-g
i like the vertical parts on the back of the chairs (no idea what you call them) the dancers in the video have. for shoulder stands for example you can hold yourself on the back.
the upper part of the back should be straight and not round like in the video (but of course with round edges) so you can balance on it.
maybe it would be nice to have a chair with silicone on the feet (maybe removable), so it would be extra safe for practicing new and dangerous tricks (just like handstand on a chair)

tried your spinning sm yesterday and wanted to tell you i loooove it. it´s so much fun, i posted a new video i which i do it (i think close to the end), if you wanat to see it =)
today i´ll maybe try it on spinning mode

i already did some chair work in a video for the last challenge and had so much fun to try something new, i´ll definitly make a video for this challenge, too.
i used a wooden chair (didn´t buy it for dancing, it´s just the one i´m sitting on while studying or eating^^) and it was pretty good for all the different moves i tried.

thanks for the link! what an amazing performance, it´s crazy what tricks she does on the chair and the flip at the end…woooow

i haven´t seen this performance yet, but i´ll definitly try to find it on youtube now! =)
