https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Hello everyone, for those of you that are interested in a viewing a variation on the leg styling while you’re up in the shoulder mount, here’s a link to view it…..the move starts at 9 minutes. I would suggest that you wait until the buffering bar on the video is completed, and then fast forward the current play position to 9 minutes, because the show is pretty bad….but the pole work in the end is good.

For those of you who do like the shoulder mount w/the leg styling, a good tip for accomplishing this one is to really get your legs and hips up high and close to the pole, so your body weight or center of gravity is more controlled, and then you can get those legs and hips to switch from side to side. I do this one from a floor shoulder mount due to a space/ceiling issue. I hope you all enjoy the pole moves in this vid!

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Testing out the princess grip was great advice, I tried it doing a shoulder dismount from upside down, and I felt more confident and in control of the release. Thank you much!

Hello, if you feel comfortable with your grip on the pole in the caterpillar, maybe keeping your hips close to the pole, and trying to extend one leg out while the other is still around the pole might give you a feel for it, hopefully that will help you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hello everyone, nice topic, and its interesting to read about everyone’s favorites! Theres too many possibilities as far as combos that I like, so I’m really undecided….I love the combo in this video at 2:50 (superman w/ undulations, leading to starfish, flatline, and exiting with inverted V legs. It’s a tough one! I’m still working on a sexy undulation and that transition from the flatline to V legs. I LOVE IT!!!

Athletic stores carry grip enhancing products that you can spray on your hands that can temporarily help with the sweat, a little bit goes a long way and too much will clump on your pole. Its the same stuff for keeping a good grip on a tennis racket, or a football for example, or for keeping hands dry in gloves. Very important to keep your pole squeaky clean to achieve best results with these products. Good luck!

If you ladies can do inverts on other moves then you’ll get the chopper soon enough, I would suggest that when you’re in invert position open your legs in a V and engage that core area for balance, it gets easier every day, its just baby steps.

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Congratulations ladies! I’m on cloud 9 too, I’ve finally have a solid knee hold, but still not quite confident clasp my arms over my head to add some drama, and thanks to Veena’s advice on the jade split, I have a confident grip to stay balanced (definitely need to work on that flexibility in that right calf) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

If you want to find some shoes, Amazon has a good selection, free shipping and returns depends on the seller. "Pleaser" is a good brand that can take a lot of abuse.

If you have trouble finding a local pole dance studio or a support group online, what about a trusted friend to be your cheerleader? Someone your comfortable around who won’t judge, get jealous, and help you through the bloopers?

My hubby has been great for constructive criticism, and has helped spot me, and has been patient watching the youtube videos, (even when I know he’s not interested). I think its very important for you to be comfortable with this "pole partner" because sometimes we overestimate our physical abilities when we feel pressure to succeed…just my opinion though.
