Thankyou both, youre so kind! I had a better lesson today I actually did a Butterfly on my own twice(was shaking like a jelly though).Could never do it before because as soon as id inverted I used to move my hands to the wrong position. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif She tried to teach me a starfish?(never heard of it) from a gemini. It was way too difficult she was supporting me for most if not all of it.Im supposed to practising, but my pole is surounded by boxes as were supposed to be moving house very soon,

From my instructor at pole4fitness that I have just rejoined.Went today and finally managed a Gemini on my own!!
3 times.Yipee, but then she wanted me to go into a inverted thigh hold.I couldnt,I can do them both on their own,but putting the two together just hurts so much. And I get confused when Im upside down at what Im supposed to be doing next!! its my age! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gifI have just been looking at Veenas youtube clip on Cartwheel handspring,It looks appealing whilst my legs are soooo sore I cant wear my trousers https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Trena,
thankyou youre very kind!I do sometimes put a Dvd on and practice with my son Luke,I had a lesson every week for 15months,but found it was getting too hard, then I didnt enjoy it anymore.I used to go home feeling fed up,so I stopped.
Ive had a five month break, then two weeks ago decided I would give it another go.
I keep getting into trouble for doing moves differently because Ive been watching Dvds ect https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

Hiya,
I do lessons upstairs at the moment, but before we used to be downstairs all the time, thats where the pictures have been taken.I have always hated the gym, that said this year I was doing body pump at Haltemprice 3 or 4 times a week, then joined David lloyd and used a personal trainer to help with my core strenghth as well as doing body pump and other classes.
I dont think it helped,I stopped going when Luke broke up for hols, and dont know where to go now as we are moving to Wawne in a couple of weeks,I cancelled my membership at David Lloyd as they lied to me about what they will put on for kids over the holidays, they didnt do anything for Lukes age.I have tried Cannons in the past too,is that where your Dad works?
When I went to Dance Dynamics it was to learn to teach,so some weeks I had 7 classes,I was extremely tired at the end of that week, but I think a alot of it was nervous energy. They were all beginers so I didnt have a problem, but was concerned that I needed to be much better at the advanced things,so have left.Thats why I am back at Pole for Fitness. She does want me to go back, but I dont know!THAT IS TOP SECRET EMMA ,CLARE AND LISA DONT KNOW!!
I start my gym instructors course in November,I should have started ETM but they cancelled it as noone else was booked, and I couldnt switch over as Gym instructors course was full.I have approached David Loyd about teaching there, and Riverview as they use club girls for their lessons.
There is a new POLE STUDIO opening soon owned by pleasure poles.
I knew straight away that I wanted to teach pole.It will be a long journey, but it took me nearly 4 years to get my Diploma in Childrens Nursing, thats life.

There was a waiting list for Haltemprice,I think it was about £30 for a course of lessons lasting 8 weeks I think,he stopped going when he broke off for summer hols as we always seemed to have something planned on a sat am.His dad is a bus driver and takes him along if theres a good job ie;Alton Towers. There are also gymnastics at South cave and Woodford sports centres.I used to get some good tips too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I was looking on google for pole lessons in Hull and came across purple door, they charged me £10 for the hour, there is only one pole but I was the only one going,Jodie said P4F slagged them off in the daily mail and they dont get many customers now. However I have just googled again and it looks like they do a warm up ect now.I might start going again, she was very good and very gracefull as it had been her job for about 5 years. I have also had a lesson at Riverview gym in Beverley,ok but not really good, they had us running around the room and doing press ups ect for a warm up.Then I had some lessons at Dance Dynamics on holderness road, she is a dancer and concentrates more on choreographed routines than tricks, but she did teach Lay back ect, they werea bit more relaxed which is what I needed at the time. Now Im back at P4F! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
One of the girls in class always had her camera with her,I was moaning that I was the oldest and fatest ect and all the young slim girls looked so good,so Emma got her to take some pics to shut me up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

Hello again,
your mum sounds like my Aunty, when I told her she just said "forgoodness sake dont tell your Grandma!!Your little girl might like to try gymnastics, after I started teaching luke things on the pole he joined gymnastics at Haltemprice,Im sure some of the little ones are a lot younger than 6.
Did you get sum shorts today?
Talking of Purple door,I have had a couple of lessons there too,I was getting a bit bored of pole 4 fitness.I had a girl called Jodie teach me,It was a really tall pole on a stage, but it was a spinning pole! She was really good,to say theyre self taught I was impressed. As far as teaching went, there wasnt a warm up or a cool down, but she could put together little routines for me,which was why I went as we didnt really do much of that at p4f.
The pain will get less on a seated thigh hold,I hope it will on an Inverted thigh hold,my legs are really sore!!

Hello, my son Luke is 12 now,he was 10 when I started having lessons.I have an older son who is 21,he’s not impressed i dont think.I am 41,39 when I started,so I have always been the oldest and probably the slowest learner in class. The 45mm was a must for my spins in the early days, but now I have no preference for hand grip(you get a stronger grip I think), and really struggle with a 45mm for griping with legs.Yesterday Emma said because I had such a long break that we are going back to basics,so she had me go over some spins like walk in back spin and walk in running legs and walk in anchor. Then she had me climb,do the thigh hold then an seated V legs before I could come down. Then she had me try going upside down with my wrong side, still cant do it after a year and a half!!
I have some nasty bruises from having a go at a Gemini into a inverted thigh hold ,Im a very polite person, but it hurt that much I wanted to swear.Im not very good at these yet,but hopefully practice will get easier.
Before I left we were just starting the shoulder mount and the Iguana, which none of us could do,but apparently the other girls can now.You will probably be doing these better than me soon, but I hate the Gym so will keep trying.

I know exactly what you mean,my little boy would never come to the park with me to practice, however he does use it at home and were always practising things like splits and handstands together. He has had a lesson at pole 4 fitness with me. My husband managed to go upside down the first time he touched my pole,it took me months,I was not very happy.I have a X-Pole 45mm,but I wish I had got 50MM as it is easier to grip with legs for climbing ect.I will never be confident enough to go in a show, but Im excited for you two that you are working towards it for next year.Debbie x https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Hiya, yes I have a pole at home, but I dont use it that much as its in the living room and there always seems to be someone around. We should be moving soon so I will have more room.Im not that advanced,Im always getting into trouble for doing things wrong.I did go to a practice session when I was about level 3 I spent most of it watching the other girls on really high levels with my mouth wide open in awe.I felt so rubbish that I couldnt think of anything to do.The next time I went I went with a friend, and got much more from the session.Do you practice the studio veena lessons somewhere.I have had a pole made for outside,my husband is going to cement it into my new garden.
Pleasure pole made it for me and surprisingly they are on sutton fields. My one to one lessons are with Emma.Debbie x -
Hiya,I was on level 9,then i left for about 5 months.Have just started again having one to one lessons to see if I can catch up to the rest of my group.Theyre on level 11 now and I’m not doing very well,so im not sure I will do it.No im not in the show, are you two?debbie x
