Ugh…..I had that happen to my favorite boots and did not find a single glue that held for more than a night; although mine were the clear acrylic bottoms.  Gorilla glue.

Be forewarned that gorilla glue expands and makes a foam like bond.  A little goes a long way and it probably will seep out the seams a bit.

What specifically on your shoes is coming apart?  I have a few different glues I use for different things.

Only put stuff in that you can do without thinking.

    Know your music.

Realize that probably at some point in the routine you will screw up.  How you react to this is important.  By knowing your music you can freestyle the void of the missed parts and jump back in at the right place.

L-theanine!!!  This is the chemical that is in green tea that calms you.  Either fix yourself the strongest cup of green tea that you can handle (use several bags per cup) or purchase l-theanine at the health food store.  It will seriously take the edge off.

If you are performing for a loved one keep it sexy and skip the big tricks.  Make eye contact and stroke that pole.

Practice in your costume!!!  You never know if you will have a wardrobe malfuntion if you do not run a dress rehearsal.  On that note:  NIPPLE COVERS and/or garment tape.  I remember Amber falling out of a move because her skirt got caught between her leg and the pole and she had no grip.  I had issues with both shoes and a tutu.

In a show or comp prepare for the worst pole conditions.  Know what aids work best for you when you are super sweaty and which ones work for you when you are freezing cold.

The best answers to all of your questions will be given by XPole themselves.  Their customer service is great and will take time with you to make sure you get exactly whent you want.  I know some of their poles are currently on back order so depending on what is in or out of stock is going to be the issue.  I know most girls have gotten their poles within a week.

It is not cold to dance on however the plates can be sticky on your feet.  One person can carry it but not in one trip.  The base bag has wheels and then there is the gun case and 2 pie cases.  You could probably attach the pie cases to teh rolling bag and then roll it all away but if you have stairs it will be difficult.  The only other issue with having an XSL in a house is ceilings.  I believe the standard height is 9'8" so if you have shorter ceilings you will need a different B piece.

It looks like a variation of the elbow grip shoulder mount.

pleaser make a hot pink chrome that will be my next purchase.  Also if you look at my pics you will see how I bling-ed out my pink shoes.

Pleaser has a TON of pink shoes.  On those you will have to grip more with the side of your foot for anything than the top; the satin laces do not like to grip.

There are so many pretty things you can do and learn without going upside down.  I am glad that you took the time to read and look and that YOU are more important to keep injury free.

Please visit all of the inverting threads on the site.  You should not be using your feet to pull your body to the pole.  A proper invert gets your body into position and then all you should have to do is straighten your legs and they are already at the pole.  If your hips are not already to the pole STOP and start doing proper strength exercises to use proper form.  I cannot stress this enough.

MissMeliss, I did not state that they were not hard, the original statement was that pole is not as hard as gymnastics so it did not deserve to be in the Olympics.  My rebuttal was that neither are curling nor equestrian events.  EVERY sport has a level of dedication however I do not see people train for most of them the way that they do for gymnastics.

    Schtoffen, it is all good.

While your reasoning is valid, trying to say that pole does not belong in the Olympics just because it is not as hard as gymnastics is not a valid argument.  I honestly cannot think of any other Olympic sport that probably IS as difficult as gymnastics.  Do you honestly think curling is difficult?  What about equestrian sports?

How are you inverting?  Are you using your foot to pull you to the pole?  After you invert what do you do?

Most of the time people get pain in their calves from improperly inverting.  I sometimes however will have my feet and calves cramp up from doing an inverted crucifix/bat hang.

I would say she got into it from an outside leg hang or something like apprentice or shooting star.  It looks like she just brought her foot and ankle around to the front of the pole and hooked it…..not very joint friendly and probably not able to be done without the grip from her boots.

Middle of August is going to be rough for Charley as she is competing in Midwest Pole Comp on the 25th (BTW, aren't you too, Kyrelle??).  I would also check out Detroit Fly house (seeing as you are on silks in your photo).

I am not sure if Shadow is teaching at any specific studio but I know she offers privates when she comes to Cleveland.  You might want to hit her up.

Tinu's issue was totally blown out of proportion.  She was trying to use the charity's name on the event listing and they do not do that PERIOD.  It does not matter if you are a pole studio or a church, they simply do not allow you to use their name.

Here in Cleveland we have raised money for rape crisis centers and I know that St Louis does this fairly regularly too.  Look into shelters, womens homes, food kitchens….things that are more local that may not get big government funding.  See if any of your students are involved with any organizations.

If you would have read what was stated earlier

"Latisse is actually Lumigan, which is a glaucoma medication.  It was found that the eyelashes of people using it were significantly longer and fuller after a short period of use.  The discoloration of the iris actually is a side effect of using it as a glaucoma medication, where you are dispensing drops directly into your eye, and it can change your eye color to brown permanently.  Latisse was born out of the side effect finding and it is applied very lightly to the lash line so the chances of iris discoloration is slim."

The first pole I ever purchased was a LM hot pink powder coated.  At the time only LM and PS were making poles and PS I am not sure even had the poles they have now.  If they did they were extremely expensive.  45 mm poles did not exist.  I had that pole for 3 years until I won an X in a contest.

A pole will only be functional if you use it.  If I were to buy a pole now X would be my pole of choice for numerous reasons.

There is a whole discussion going on regarding the direction that pole is going.  So many of the competitions are stating "no overtly sexy moves" etc, hence making the comps more like a gymnastics routine than a pole dance.  How many of us get pissed about being called strippers?  How many of us have explained that it is a good form of exercise and totally glossed over how it has brought us to terms or even helped us find our sexy?  This I believe is what this campaign is about.  Australia has kept that sexy edge but for some reason we feel that we need to hide it in our competitions to be seen as legit.  Think about it.

What kind of pole do you have?  Matt from Jasmine Dragons makes his own poles that spin but they are always on spin….no option of putting it on or off.  I think this is what you are going to run into if you make a modification, either always on or always off.

I will just state that not all protein sources are the same and not all protein sources have this effect on cancer.    Campbell researched protein's effect on turning and off cancer promotion and it was specific to casein.  However generalizations have been made that ALL protein sources act as casein does, which has never been proven.  It does not aid in cancer development, it affects development after you already have cancer.  Those are two very distinctly different things.

We had itac (all levels), dry hands, mighty grip and liquid grip.  I now carry all of these in my "bag" plus I have added (all three levels)….Oh, and a rosin bag!.  One can never be too prepared!
