My semi-famous wing sauce recipe will follow. Wings are not wings unless they are deep fried (ask any of the Ohio Rally Clan). If you have an Aldi's near you, they have the best prices. My sauce is usually just by "hand", but I will try to get measurements about equal… ~1 c butter/margarine ~1 c vinegar Good shake or two of crushed red pepper flakes. Heat this til boiling and then about another 5 minutes. Add ~2 c hot sauce and simmer 'til a dark brick red color (usually about 20 minutes). Add 1 16oz bottle of ranch dressing (or more to taste) and heat through. One would think that the ranch would mellow the heat but it acts the opposite. Also, the longer you simmer the crushed pepper flakes the hotter it gets. This sauce has an incredible flavor to it. Now, the way I make this…I get 1 bottle of hot sauce and 1 bottle of ranch dressing from Aldi's. I scoop 2 MOUNDING tablespoons of margarine and then add about the same amount of vinegar. Shake the flakes, boil, add the entire container of hot sauce, simmer, add the entire bottle of ranch.
For the wings we typically deep fried frozen wings for about 7 minutes, pull from the oil and let sit for 3-4 minutes then fry again for about 7 minutes.

Zucchini-Pineapple Bread

I will post the original recipe and then my "cleaned up" version of the recipe. I have not ever had this the original way but I am sure that it is just as good. I am in love with this stuff right now.
3 eggs
1 c oil
2 c sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 c grated peeled zucchini
3 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 c crushed pineapple, drained
1 c chopped nuts
1 c raisins
Mix in order given. Pour into 2 greased 5x9x3 loaf pans. Bake at 350 F for 1 hours or tests done (moist).
My changes to recipe:
3/4 c egg substitute
3/4 c oil (I used coconut oil once and canola another time)
1-3/4 c sucanat
3 c spelt flour (ground fresh thanks to my vitamix)
This recipe reminds me of the infamous carrot cake recipe.

I have a few that I will have to dig up. I have a carrot cake recipe also that is the best I have ever had in my life, I have ruined people on this recipe (I wonder how the two compar
Super Secret Carrot Cake Recipe
Carrot Cake
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs
1½ cups oil
2 cups shredded carrots
1 cup walnuts
1 can crushed pineapple (soup can), drained wellBake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
½ cup butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugarCream butter, cream cheese, add vanilla. Add sugar gradually and mix well.
My friend said she sometimes increases the frosting by 1 1/2 times because she likes lots of frosting.
Note: I added a full 20 oz can of crushed pineapple. Also added 1-2 tsp of lemon juice to the frosting (cuts the sweetness and adds tanginess to it). This is better if it is allowed to sit over night in the refrigerator. I used a 9×13 pan.

There is an insurance company that created a policy JUST for pole dancers and studios. The information is in the link. Mark can answer any question you may have.

eva x, you remind me of someone who grew up in Soviet Russia and went into a sport where all you heard was NO…do THIS!
There was a great discussion a bit ago about teaching styles and what you respond to in a class. I personally cannot stand teachers that tell me "pretty" or "that was so beautiful" when I know for a fact I flubbed something. In return I am not the type of person who says things like that unless I truly mean them.
-
As for friend requests, I honestly do not ever check those and I do not have SV set up for notifications so do not take it personally if someone does not respond to your request. I popped into that area a few months back and realized I had requests that had been there since January.

This reminds me of a pic that Marlo had posted a few months back:

Many post videos here to show their progress. It is a much safer community than posting somewhere like youtube or facebook. This is not a sport that you are going to get "good" on your first videos (unless you are one of those freaks of nature or have a dance/gymnastics background). It takes a lot of guts to even post a video, especially when so many get down on themselves by comparing themselves to others. Also, what your idea of sexy may not be someone else's is. If someone is asking for their performance to be critiqued then that is one thing, to just post a video is something completely different. I have been brutally honest when asked to have a video looked at because they are thinking of entering a contest or are going to be performing somewhere.
On top of this, as was stated before, many of us have gotten to know one another through this forum and know the struggles that person may be going through. A video may have been posted just after they had a really difficult situation or maybe a really good thing happen and if you know the back story you can see that in their video. Pole is not just tricks…it is an expression of one's self at that point in their life.

When I got my first LM (used) they literally wrapped it with some sort of saran wrap and slapped a tag on it.
-
Just an FYI, I think only UPS and Fedex will handle the pole since it is a one piece and only collapses to about 8'. UPS ground will probably run $50-75 across the US.

I have a much easier time with straight edge than with ayesha. I can only do an elbow hold ayesha and I am working on gettin my legs parallel to the floor. Split grip I have been working on for almost 2 years and I just cannot find my balance. It was just brought to my attention that since my legs are so long compared to my upper body that I might want to try a true grip instead of standard as it will give me more room to find a balance point. This makes perfect sense as it does not seem I can get my body far enough away from the pole in a regular grip. However I have a pinched nerve so I have not been able to try this since it was suggested.

Yeah, in Cleveland you used to be able to get it at ice cream shops and ice houses, but they do not carry it any more. Luckily the facility that makes/distributes it is close to my house.

I am sorry that you are feeling this way. I fully understand the wanting nice things as we all seem to want that, but at some point in time we need to re-evaluate our priorities. It seems that your mom in not capable of doing this and knows that she can put you on a guilt trip to get money out of you. She may also be just as bad as an alcoholic or drug user just her drug of choice is buying expensive items for herself. It is a sickness and you need to treat it as such.
This is not a situation I would want to be in.
-
Dry ice creates all sorts of other issues. It is also kind of expensive and not easy to find any more. I spent $16 for 10 lbs of dry ice (which really is not a lot) a few weeks ago. In order to get the best effect it should be placed in an open vat of water and then the bubbling and fog are not controllable.
-
This is similar to the one I have.
$30 fog maching that has a control. I think it would be cool to add a piece of tubing with holes coming off the nozzle and then string that near a wall. The remote makes it easily controllable as to when you want a spurt of fog.

ANY pole can fall, even those that have screwed in mounts. It is SOOOOOOO important to check your pole routinely. Changes in temperature can cause your floor/ceiling to shrink making a tight pole loose.
I just use the dome right now.

There is no industry standard. Generally the comp will tell you what size they are using.
It is always a good idea to get practice on different sizes.
-
I did not know that! I knoew they ahd started posting stuff earlier this year but there were only a few. Have not checked back in a while.
-
This past year was the very first time that USPDF released any videos and they only released a small few. I really wish that they would follow the rest of the competitions and allow taping. I would like to see all performances, not just the top 3. And I do not think I have seen any of the amateur ever.

I had a cheapy one too (I may still have it in my attic). They all run on the same principle it just depends on the "juice" that you buy. If it is old the glycols will break down and just kind of make things slimey.

GAH….this site does not like that sites images.

Reenie, that is the same type of move but not the thread I was thinking of. The one I remember was based on the exact same image of Anastasia.

Charley…look at the positioning of her foot. Again, the pole is on the outside of her foot, not the inside. Bow and arrow uses the pole on the inside of the foot.
-
It depends on the fog machine. Most use a glycol based fluid which in essence is similar to (they use glycerine and caprylyl glycol which is totally misspelled on their label). If anything it will improve your grip! The glycols are what gives the fog a sweet smell.
