MemberMarch 15, 2013 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Pole Dance Fitness Training/CertificationsI will also say though, as I have in the other threads, I would take a cert just for my own personal knowledge because I am that type of person. And I would bet that most instructors would seek out some sort of cert, be it ACE/AFAA or just continuing education. There are so many resources available online now that it is silly not to educate yourself.

According to PDD it is also called a switch or a shoulder mount to half flag. The only kamikaze listed is also the cocoon.

Honest truth, when a new student walks through the door they do not know what it takes to learn or teach pole so having a certification means nothing to them. On the same note, you can make up the name of a certification and the majority of student will not even check it out before stepping foot into a studio. Location and price are typically what is most important.
Now ask that same person after they have been poling about a year and your answer may me completely different.
To this day I still could care less if a person has a "pole certification". I do not think it is necessary to be a good instructor. More important to me is years in the industry and knowledge of how to get me in and out of moves effectively and safely. But again, I am 5 years in. I could care less about this stuff when I was first starting out….all I wanted was to learn how to pole and even contacted a bunch of the strip clubs by me to try to learn. Fawnia, Sheila, Pantera, KT….none of them had "certifications" when they started out.

That is just 3 fonji's in a row.

Exactly what AG said. THe pricing appears to be the same and I know Veena at times runs free shipping. But the best way hands down to know for sure is to contact XPole UK. http://www.x-pole.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=151&Itemid=132

Sorry…horizontal.
It just looks like a variation of an elbow grip pole split.

Allegra is with the pole to your back.
Very similar to this but she is more vertical: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8429/7875123192_c8a32bdb1b.jpg

I have seen the contract and there is a section in there regarding paying for training, so I do not think it would be free. Also, Satine has been in this game I think for 3 years and was teaching in NOLA at a small studio but it did not take off, so the only thing they would be teaching her is their way of pregressing and structuring class. But again, if they are training and making her follow guidelines then she is NOT by law considered an independent contractor. However if she signs the contract knowing full well that is the case she still signed something agreeing to their terms and that can be upheld in court. I will also add that she is a well known performer in NOLA and she had to have the contract adjusted because it states that she cannot perform without it being contracted through the studio. They also have a clause in there that entitles them to a cetrain percentage of her payment.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven and I am really shocked that they have instructors who have signed this.
But also as one person on FB stated, imagine if this was a contract that a guy gave to you before you started dating. At least you knew up front to run as far and as fast as you could.

Yes, salicylic acid. It is great for ingrowns as it forces turnover of the skin. Many of the adult acne creams/gels hav this in it and are quite less $$ than ingorwn treatments.

I do not beleive that she can even state the 250 mile radius as that imposes on interstate commerce. By stating that she is encompasing all of Louisiana, part of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and part of Texas. She cannot tell you that you cannot work in another state.
I know I pointed you to these threads last night but I am posting for others that may have a similar question:

I remember when your videos first appeared and the buzz you created. I love that every 6 months or so people are asking about you, here or on facebook, wanting to know if you are still poling. I know it sounds kind of creepy but you are a unique talent and really impacted pole with your style and I am happy to hear that you are still in the game.

MemberMarch 12, 2013 at 2:19 pm in reply to: HELP… How can I reduce pole burn and brusing???How long have you been poling and how often are you poling? Bruising gets better with time. I am 5 years in and no longer bruise 98% of the time. Arnica gel (10% or better) is my savior for those times when I think I am going to bruise…I put this on and it never coems to the surface. There are also tablets that you can take but I have never used them.
