You will not experience set back in a week. And you shjould NEVAER work out every day. Your body needs time to rest and if you do not allow it time to repair/rebuild you will stunt your progress.

Slink Slide and Melt for the most part was never shipped.
Veena has GREAT lessons here and for pretty cheap too.
S Factor has great videos for getting your sexy on as well as Alethea Austin.

I have definitely gained a lot of confidence and have gotten into the face of a few jack offs that have touched me when I was on the pole. My husband is usually within a short distance and used to be ready to pounce. Now he kid of sits back and watches.
On a funny side note, there was a post on FB a while back asking if you have gotten so trained that you point your toes during sex. My reply was that I did not take notice but I have had to be careful not to trap my husband's head between my thighs. I also no longer need a "man" to open jars for me.

If a pawn shop knows a piece is stolen they will get it back for you. Send a picture of the rings to all shops within a radius you think this person would travel. If indeed theya re a junkie and looking for quick money they are not going to travel far.

I know quite a few people who have had this. Please be careful in your recovery. It is quite common for weightlifters.

Save up some money and get a real pole. No seriously…the pole you have is dangerous and will never be stable unless you drill it into place and then I would be extremely concerned about the seams busting on you from outward force.
-
What kind of pole is it?

Any order through SV ships directly from XPole. The only time I have ever known about delays is if XPole is out of stock of your pole. Have you checked the X site to see if it is on backorder? And, um, 10/15 was only 2 days ago.
Also, as a tip, there is a "contact us" link on the bottom of every simgle page. That is the quickest way to get a hold of Webby and Veena.

I remember an interview. This is the first I heard that she and her mother were ice skaters.

Yeah, there is not a whole lot of information about *her*.

I have had bouts of depression (this past year when my studio closed to name one) but I generally know the cause of my depression. I know with some there are chemical markers but others there are no known test because they do not understand why it happens. Hell, up until recently they did not understand why women got menstrual cramps.

MemberOctober 16, 2012 at 2:06 pm in reply to: Article: Are creatives more prone to mental illness?Speaking as someone who works with a lot of science geeks, I can honestly say that those who excel at the sciences typically are not wired the same as others. The ability to even grasp and understand, let alone make discoveries in this field requires different wiring. I believe that to be true of highly creative types too. When you have different "wiring" you are prone to psychological disorders of a sort. It amazes me on the one "geek" forum I am on how many of the guys have serious social disorders or anxieties; and these are BRILLIANT people. It is to the point where I think having a social disorder is the norm and being "normal" is the disorder.
And for my other theory….they say that we only use a small percentage of our brain. Think about how many "multitasks" you can handle at one time. We are constantly bombarded with new technology. Those of us who have grown up with technology have a very small learning curve, whereas those that did not grow up with technology have a steep one. We are constantly pushing the limits of our brain's capabilities and when that happens different pathways get fired up. If we do not know how to handle these different pathways, or even if those pathways bypass our normal filters all sorts of fun things start happening.
I wish I understood more about how our brains function.

It does not matter if you have "proof"….the fact that co-workers have told you that he has said this behind your back is a case to get HR involved. It is better to be the first to bring a concern to their attention than for him to take it to HR as something totally different.
-
RaquelleStar, that is called fostering a hostile work environment and possibly workplace harassment and it is against the law. Look it up and go and talk to your HR depertment about it.

How long have you been doing this? I highly recommend Veena's lessons; they really are pretty inexpensive. There are many thing that come into play when you are trying to hold yourself on the pole, not just one particular thing. V's strength and conditioning lessons will get you there.

Here the events are few and far between but the fetish events tend to pay $50-100 for a few hours (usually one or two performances). Quite honestly, fetish/alt/swinger events are probably some of the safest events you can perform at. They tend to have super tight security and these are people who know and respect boundaries and the meaning of the word no. I am not really sure how burlesque performers get paid.
Many of the performers that I know that are out a few weekends a month travel to many different locations. They are more performance artists than anything else. You just kind of have to find that niche in your city and start making connections. Unfortunately though when someone comes into town and is looking for performers the first thing they are going to do is call local studios.
-
If you do not have your own stage pole this will be difficult. There is a bikini bar here in town but I really do not think the girls are making that much money and they are still doing lap dances and such. If you have your own stage pole then you can start looking into burlesque and fetish events. The first few may have to be done at no charge but once you get your name out there you will start getting calls. I have even been contacted through this site by someone who was looking for silks performers for a grand opening of a club.

^^^^ Extremely wise words ^^^^^^

Glitterqueen, I can do one better and go with you! There are 2 studios in town. Monday night we have pole play at Be Studios which is in Lakewood/Cleveland, maybe 15 minutes on the freeway. There is also Cleveland Exotic which is more downtown. If you are interested in silks at all there is also a studio in the old Slavic neighborhood that has classes on Wednesday and Sunday nites. I am sending you a PM.

Yes, different variations.

Minicoopergirl brings up a great point about instructors. When I was teaching I did NOTHING for myself. I stopped trying to learn new things. I stopped pushing. I always had a song or two of "play" at the end of class but if I worked on things for myself a lot of the time the girls would stop and watch me which to me was taking "their" time away from them. I know a few instructors arund here have the same issue which is why we have pole play once a week at a studio. It is nice to be able to get together with other people who have a higher ability and just play and maybe learn a thing or two.
