Rope lights or christmas lights around the floor or circling the mirrors. You can get strips of LED’s off ebay that you can change the color and dim them that I used for making my bed for pretty cheap. I just looked and you can get a 5 meter strip for about $15. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/RGB-5M-3528-LED-Strip-Light-300leds-44key-Remote-Controller-12V-Power-Supply-/200883830141?pt=US_Car_Lighting&hash=item2ec59bfd7d)
I also like the Ikea Holmo lamps (http://www.ebay.com/itm/IKEA-HOLMO-Floor-lamp-light-white-Rice-paper-shade-Modern-Contemporary-New-/371212985394?pt=Lamps_US&hash=item566e04a432). They give low lighting but enough to set a mood.
I know quite a few love their mipole lights too (https://www.studioveena.com/searches/index?s=mipole)

DOOOOOOOOO ITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!
You will screw up. It will not be perfect. You will hype yourself out. You will wonder WHY the hell you have not done it sooner. You will look for the next opportunity.
As you know there are a ton of threads on here about choreographing. Look through them and plan your attack. The hardest part will be picking your song.
Oh, and tape that shit!

I have seen a lot on fb about this pole too. I would love to try one out but they are not in the US.

Brass is probably my least favorite as it is either too slippy or too grippy….there is no happy medium. I have worked on stainless at studios and while down here in NC it is great I hated it when I lived in Cleveland. Chrome for me has the most consistent grip of any pole I have used.

Contact Matt from Jasmine Dragons. He is super sweet and has been teaching kids and teenagers for years.

Ok, so I am going to get a little bitchy here…..do you expect free pole classes? Would you expect free yoga or dance or gymnastics or ANY sport? The people who teach have spent thousands of hours and dollars on gaining their knowledge and you want it to be given for free? Sorry, but this is something that just really gets me on my soap box.
If you want Veena is gracious enough to give 3 free days to the lessons on this site.

Lyme, I am so saddened to read this. I don’t know what to say. I am sending a cyber hug….holding you for a long time.

Have you tried calling xpole? There are very few here that have been around long enough to even know there was another style of xpole.

MemberDecember 3, 2014 at 2:23 pm in reply to: Twisted grip is the bane of my exsistance tips pleaseNot to sound like too much of a bitch but you probably will not get a lot of advice regarding this move here. The majority of the members here do not believe in this move due to the damage that it can do to you. There are lots of threads if you do a search and quite a few blogs. I might suggest reading through them before wanting to continue with trying this.

It really should not do that if the pole is level on 2 planes. What kind of ceilings do you have?
On a side note, I just got the permanent mount and I LOVE it!

Pull the leg across the body. And I mean ACROSS. Hurts like a mother, especially if you do not have the flexibility.

Yep, it is a variation of it.

Yeah, super pain is named appropriately!

And duh, did not read your first post about iguana…..

There is a move called Q. And iguana mount.

She uses stages (locally owned) for the company. I am pretty sure that Mary Ellyn has a professional rigging company set up a cage and then maybe xpole supplies poles but I am not even positive about that. Smaller long running comps and shows always had to supply their own poles. In the Midwest this is what I have always run into. It may be different where you since there are bigger shows, but the Midwest has always had to buy poles.

Yep! Poles and diameters. A girl here in Raleigh has all 3 sizes for her stage.

MemberNovember 19, 2014 at 10:09 am in reply to: Music and pole in studios/competitionsRegulatory bodies just assume that you are playing music at your studio. All they need to do is search your business license and then send you a letter…..this is very easily done with computers. It is not a time thing in any way. The burden of proof is on you.
