Are you familiar with anodized aluminum or titanium jewelry? This is the process that is used to give the titanium the gold color. The titanium gives you the grip, the gold is just to give it color. I know older models had some issues with the gold color wearing off but it did not affect the grip. Newer models do not seem to have this problem. Ther have been a few threads here regarding it. Veen had TG and I do not think she has had any issues with hers.
I wish we could get other colors of titanium poles….you can pretty much make any color imaginable depending on the voltage of electricity used to anodize.

What makes the powerball work so well is that it is a gyroscope and has an outward force which in turn makes you grip tighter to keep a hold of it. There are a couple of other grip strength things that you can buy if you look on climbing and guitar sites. I kinda like the powerball because it lites up (if you buy that version).
There are also quite a few exercises you can do for your wrists/forearms. I thought V had a few here and you can probably find quite a few online. Even hanging from a pull up bar for any length of time will help your grip strength.

I am confused by this statement because the pole locks into the original X Stage and into the Lite in the exact same way. There is a locking hex screw.
I am 5'8" and weigh anywhere from 155-165 depending on the season. The biggest issues that I have with the SSA:
1. I do not like stainless
2. The usable pole is much shorter unless I get an extension. I cannot invert on one without my feet passing the top of the pole.
3. The walking issue. Now, do not get me wrong, I have lifted an xtage but with that it comes thumping back down and stops (noisily I might add). With the SSA it continues to lift with my rotations thus causing a spinning penny effect. I will add here that I have NOT been on the new redesigned SSA, but to my knowledge they did not change anything but the locking design.
As for the other banter, ignore it.

Mistress, Infinity in CBus has brass poles. You might want to check them out before making an investment. Personally brass is as temperamental for me as stainless is.
For grip aids I also like a product called Liquid Grip. Mighty Grip does not work for me much because on top of my hands being drier they are also typically on the cold side. That does not allow for the thermoplastic to do what it needs to do.

Wow…sit through a budget meeting and come back to this. Thank you both V and Web for understanding my question and not thinking I was trying to start a fight here. Empty, I would ask that if you have an issue with me please take it up with me directly.
I was indeed asking what Mama meant by the X Stage pole not being secure in the base.

No, Amy is just a sexy beast.

What do you mean by not being secure to the base?

Sorry, Amy…I am posting all sorts of pics of you. You should seriously be a model for AP!

What I do not understand is why they charge extra for the different sizes: $20 for a 45 mm pole and $40 extra for a 38mm.

Normal price is $399, they ahve a $100 discount going on right now. You can not do duplicate discounts.

From their website:
Every pole is custom cut to fit your ceiling height and has a few inches of adjustment*.
I know it has been posted what that "several inches" is, but I cannot remember what it is. The thing is you do not want to order it too tall or it will have to be cut down.

Unfortunately there are many studios that are not insured. This is something that you would have to ask them about. I am very surprised that they would not have you fill out any sort of forms when renting the space.
I know there are studio owners and people who travel and teach workshops here!
-
It all depends on the person who is teaching. I want to say most expect you to cover accomodations and a set amount of money they will earn. If you do not sell enough workshops you will be held responsible for making up the difference. Some have a minimum number of people per workshop and a max person to pole ratio. I am not sure how insurances are worked out, either. I know many carry their own teaching insurance but what if one of your poles came down while someone was on it? This is obviously not the instructors fault and I do not believe their insurance would cover such an event.
I am sure it can be done, however I am not sure if it would be financially feasible.

BTW…these are the Elite finalists. Other divisions have not come out yet.

It has not happened to me but I have read of it happening to a few people here on SV. Generally it is an issue of either too tight, not under a joist or plaster ceilings.
