Also what could be an option would be the foam puzzle piece mats. They break down for easy/compact storage and are easy to set up. I just saw some that are wood grain…cool!!

As far as the rest goes…so what? That really is not much of an age difference and for the most part they are probably all jealous of your youth (and pissed that he did not go after someone "his own age").
As for the not letting it bother you…that will change as you get older.

No, that is not the same thing. Karol has 2 tutorials on YT

I can't see these at work so I cannot tell which is which. What you are describing I think is a half handspring.
I differentiate between Cartwheel and Handspring by which way your head/chest moves….in the handspring you are kind of going backwards, in cartwheel you are going foreward.

For hood ornament you can get into it from either a side climb or regular climb. You need to be able to hold baseball grip aerially (is that a word?). Or you can get into it from say an inside leg hang and then puling yourself up over the hooked leg.
Not really sure how I get into figurehead…I cannot get into it from a superman as I do not have enough flexibility. I kind of do an underarm spin aerially, pretty much one handed and then once I am in front of the pole I grab with the other hand.

From hood ornament you can go into teddy fairly easily

It looks like every single competition is held at a strip club.

Let's see, I have been at it for a little over 3 years and I am one fo the "older" ladies here. Prior to poling I did work out but my upper body strength alway was lacking. I started at home with the S Factor book and and then the dvds. Because of this I think I progressed faster than many but also injured myself trying to do things I should not have been doing.
Things I remember for strength:
Caterpillar: I was able to get one out without issue but it took me at least 3 months to get several.
Caterpillar climb: This took me forever because I fell out of it and I was scared to death to try again. I worked on handstands in the mean time to build my upper strength and confidence. This probably took me 6 months to a year before I was comfortable. This is the one move that also opened up a ton of other moves for me.
Reverse grab: I am still working one getting lots of air on this one. I was able to do it fairly quicky once I was comfortable with a one handed spin but my legs were always near the ground. Conditions still have to be "just right" for me to get my legs high.
BTW…my flexibility is crap.

I have very little leg contact in any of my spins, but I also learned them all wearing shorts. I think it is just like when people have death grip…you just kind of learn the proper form to make it happen.

I do not know how to post a link from itunes here but when I typed S Factor into the search bar I got about 30 hits under playlists.
-
I cannot find imix any more either….not sure what happened to it. I was however able to type veruca and S Factor into the search bar and toward the bottom left I got a list of playlists. I have used stripper, lap dance, and pretty much any other sexy words to find music on itunes.

Try this thread, too

There is a feature called imix. I cannot access it while I am at work or I would guide you step by step.
Here is something I found on the web:
Open the iTunes store, and click Music in the upper left.
A section appears just below the upper left, called "More in Music" and you'll see iMix in there. There's over a million of them, and you can browse through or search by different criteria.I know that both Veruca and Amy from here have mixes.
I love bluesy type music….it just makes me want to grind. AC/DC is good for that (check out Ride On).

Look up some old Prince music.
Portishead-Glory Box
MIMS-This is Why I'm Hot
Joe Cocker-Leave Your Hat On
!!!- There's No F-in' Roles Dude
Juvenile-Slow Motion
Lizz Wright- I Idolize You
Lucinda Williams- Unsuffer Me
Marily Manson- Just a Car Crash Away
Eagles-Those Shoes
Ted Nugent-Stranglehold
On Itunes look up S Factor playlists. I know there are a bunch that have been put up by students and teachers alike.
