20. Contestants will be judged on the basis of Pole Tricks for 50 points (executions, transitions, originality, difficulty, flexibility & sex appeal), Appearance for 30 points (costume, hair/makeup, body & sensuality), and Overall Performance for 20 points; totalling 100 points.
10. Contestants will disrobe to the legal limits of the host venue during their performance.
I bolded 2 points here….not every pole performer has sex appeal or is sensuous. If you had neither or were nervous to be disrobed I can see that as scoring low in these 2 fields. Again, I can dance but would suck at a competition like this. I just do not have what it takes to be an exotic dancer.

ErinMarieOMG- it seems pretty clar that this competition was aimed at exotic dancers, I don't think that was ever NOT clearly stated. I know that I would never even place in such a competition because I have no experience whatsoever in being an exotic dancer even though I have pole skills. I am not really sure what you were expecting….
And where do you even get off going off on the person who started this site? I do not see Veena starting a fight with you, she just restated what had already been discussed…..this was a competition aimed at EXOTIC DANCERS…if you were not an exotic dancer why would you even enter?

BTW, are you actually in Syracuse or on the outskirts. I have family in Camillus but usually stay around Seneca Lake when we come in (gotta hit those wineries!!).

No, it was not. This was her 2010 performance. If you look at the 2009 highlights her hair was brunette and she was wearing a pink top and black shorts.

MemberFebruary 18, 2011 at 7:28 am in reply to: Random Question about Sarah Cretul & USPDF VidsAs far as I know VPC never aired. I know that Alethea won one of the rounds but have no idea where the show went after that.
As for Sarah's USPDF routine, have you checked the USPDF site? I know they had some of the previous years performances. I cannot acces it from work. I also remember seeing it on facebook but I don't remember who had it there.

Vdub, depending on your TV you should be able to connect. Google it. It also depends on the type of connectors you have on your computer. Worst comes to worst, take pics of the connectors you ahve on your PC and also on your TV and go to Radio Shack.
The newer LCD tvs a lot of times come with a vga port so you can connect your monitor cable directly in. Also if you have a wireless gaming station you may be able to send it to that (not sure on this one). Webmaster?

I might include some of the current male figures in pole….
Dominic Lacasse
Remi Martin
Eike Von Stuckenbrock
Josiah
David Owen
Jungle Cat (Tavon)
Steven Retchless
I am not aware of international males or I would give you their names.
One other person I think greatly influenced pole a few years back and then kind of disappeared…Sarah Cretul. She totally changed the art. No one saw an aerial twisted grip prior to her (let alone twisted grip at all??) or some of the amazing moves she performed. Go an look at the first USPDF competition and the performances…she was in a class all her own and the next year everyone was doing her moves.
Then you have people that are creating new and exciting moves that everyone wants to do: Oona (Oona split), Marlo (I can't even describe this one but it is one arm pencil thing), Jenyne (jade drop, iron X lift, horizontal pencil), Pantera (death lay), Allegra (Allegra), Rebecca Butcher (crazy a$$ drop she did), Alethea (floor work), Remi (the Remi)…I'm sure there are others

Have you tried using leave in conditioner or any of the glosses? I know when my hair is dry it tends to tangle more. As strange as this sounds, also straightening mine using a heat spray keeps mine from tangling. My hair is pretty straight but that added little bit of finishing touch keeps any curvy hair from grabbing and tangling. When mine dries naturally I always have a bit of a bend at the nape of my neck and I will get rats nests there.
What about braiding it?

That is the main site for Xpole in the United States. I believe that PoleFit Carolina's also sells Xpole, as well as this site (Studio Veena).
