I would really love to know how Matt/Swift/Luis did during the showcase. The videos/podcast were not mobile friendly so I missed their performance.

I do it in this video if that helps at all:

Go to Wiki Pole and there are several pictures. The one I posted is from Charley and shows the best angle.
-
The only way I can get into this is from an extended butterfly. I swoop the extended leg toward the pole and then catch that ankle and release the other leg. Hope that make sense.

If indeed it is an allergic reaction you need an antihistamine to counteract the reaction. Benadryl (diphenhydramine hydrochloride) is going to be the fastest acting but will probably make you drowsy. I would start with 50 mg to get the swelling down and then 25 mg every 4-6 hours until the reaction is cleared.

Benadryl is diphenhydramine hydrochloride and it is a broad spectrum antihistamine (which is why it causes sleepiness). If you have a chemist/pharmacist you should be able to get it there

Have you ever tried applying benadryl ointment prior to class or even taking benadryl? I know it makes a lot of people sleepy (the down side) but can really help keep a reaction at bay. The ointment may be a great option for you….I think they make both a gel and a lotion….I would opt for the gel. There is also a product that is called barrier cream. It is used in a lot of industrial applications an also for spray tanning. It creates a thin barrier between your skin and whatever it is contacting. This stuff is non greasy. The stuff I have at work is made by a company here in Ohio. I also use it whenever I color my hair as it keeps the dye off my hair line. You shoudl be able to find something locally or online if you search for barrier cream.

It is one of two things, either electrical tape to sheild the top of your foot while climbing or it is someone wearing foot undies.

MemberAugust 4, 2011 at 8:13 am in reply to: lil mynx on smooth concrete without a pad…Are you talking about the little cut out or the rubber feet that are attached to the bottom? I had mine up in my garage on a smooth piece of panelling for almost 3 years without issue. But then mine also came with the directions to keep extending it even after you put it up until it was tight. If you are getting movement with the pad in place then that tells me you do not have it extended enough.

Lil Mynx portable is worthless. The only way it is decent is if you screw the piece into the ceiling. There have been discussions about it fairly recently.
-
Do you realize that there is an adjustment on the bottom also?

Charley, do you know if they (PS) are still having issues with their multipiece pole? I know they were a few years back but someone was just asking me last night and I honestly do not know anyone who has purchased one lately.

I am having a hard time understanding what you mean by "leave my top hand there but for some reason my body will not move round the pole if I keep that top hand there?"
-
No pole is perfect. You really need to make a list of important factors (portability, finish, height) and then make a decision based on that. I am a little dismayed at some of the issues that I have been hearing about XPole but I will also note that we ahve 8 X Stages where I teach and I have a fairly new XPole at home. I will not say that I have had no issues but I will also state that any issue that I have had has been dealt with immediately.

Forgot to add….there are great workshops for this at reasonable prices, too! Seriously…$40 for 2 hours? That is a STEAL!!!
