The spinning problem is 2 fold: not lining the pole up properly in the first place and not tightening the joint properly. I know that some of our joints got messed up because when putting B pole on top of the joint the holes were not lined up and poeple just spun the pole around to get them to line up instead of lifting and spinning the pole. The other problem was not cranking the crap out of the joint. Yes…you have to seriously put all of your weight into tightening them…a "just tight" WILL NOT WORK and will cause problems. Even on the joints that we had with retracted pins we were able to use without them spinning.
I know quite a few people (me including) that got screwdriver handles because allen keys are such a pain to use, but a screwdriver handle with a hex bit will not give you enough torque necessary to tighten these properly.
The new design I beleive is a screw pin so there is a possibility that with time vibrations may cause it to push in a bit. I have not taken one of the new ones apart to see exactly how it is constructed (yet). And come on Amy…..you know you have done that same thing!

I would also be sure that any of your female students are going to be ok with a guy in their classes.

What is the new pole? I am not sure if they make this in a 45 or not.
Here are the pics:

I think they are about $20? I am going to upload some pics to my profile of them.

Was it of you? I have not heard of videos taken off FB for this unless it was of a professional dancer or a competition and you did not have permission to post it.

How wide is it? I would not cut it as most fabrics have a tighter weave at the edges which prevents fraying. And no, do not hem it.

I was not stating that mineral makeup does not have its advantages. I was making comment on mineral makeup being "natural". I was also pointing out some other things that people may not think about. I work with minerals all day long but in an industrial setting. I can attest that bacteria will grow on anything that has been exposed to air as long as it has food (skin cells, moisture, etc). This is true for anything which is why we need to throw out our makeup and clean our applicators regularly, which most do not do.

I think it is easier as an inside leg hang as you will not be reaching across your body to grab the hanging leg.
Here, let me try to explain. If you are in an inside leg hang, your inside arm is in front of the pole, outside is behind. Much easier to reach back with the outside arm to grab that outside leg and then move the body behind the pole.
Now switch…outside leg hang the inside arm is still in front of the pole. Now you have to reach diagonally acrodd your body to grab the "free" leg, which is your inside leg. Your body is going to be twisted making getting your body on the opposite side of the pole more difficult….at least this is how I see it in my mind.

Ok, I am just gonna say it and be done….no mineral makeup is "natural". It is all processed and possibly chemically produced or purified in a lab. Minerals are pulled from the ground….they are not going to just grind them up and let you put them on your face.
Also please be very careful with powders like these that contain no preservatives as any amount of moisture (like where we store most of our makeup…in the bathroom) can cause "nasties" to grow in it. There is also an issue of breathing these fine powders and there is currently a huge push for measuring their size and respirable concerns.

What you just described was:
inverted into upright then inverted then inverted or upright. I am REALLY confused!!
-
Shortness has nothing to do with it. Can you stick a regular crucifix? And by "forced" what exactly do you mean…is your invert not solid and this is what looks forced? Have you tried it from a reverse hand stand? There are a lot of things that could go wornd…as usual a video will help.

Everybody has their favorites when it comes to poles. Took a workshop last weekend with brass poles and could not do a thing on them as I kept sliding to the floor. I have the most consistent grip on chrome but that is me. I will also say that no 2 pole manufacturers are the same. Brass from PS is totally different than from X and poledanzer as is stainless between LM, PD, PD and X.

I have not seen the SSA "tip" as much as I have seen it lift off the ground by a few inches. Mattcrobat did it when he was executing a chinese climb (don't know what to call it…basically no leg climb while they are spread and you are spinning that a lot of the guys do). The higher he got the higher the the stage lifted off the ground. He "walked" the stage about 3 feet across the room. I have "walked" a SSA only a few inches on a reverse grab. I am 5'8 and 155. I have never "walked" the X although I did have a girl who was over 6' and probably in the 200 lb range have the stage lift up when she did a fireman. When she was in class I extended the legs and never had another issue. For those of us who are taller and weigh more I will still stand by my original statement that I do not feel this is an option for a stage pole. It may be fine for those that are smaller and weigh less than 120 lbs.
