Dynaflex and NSD are 2 different companies.  They are both pretty much the same but NSD has a better warranty and also higher models than Dynaflex.  (This may have changed since I first bought mine).  I did a lot of research and it appeared like that NSD are built better.  I think they are about the same price and I got mine pretty cheap on ebay.  The big difference is that you can buy the Dynaflex at some sports stores whereas you cannot with the NSD.

This is what i had read when I was looking at them.  it has a chart that kind of compares the two brands and the "levels"

I believe that much of the body paint type stuff is just the appliques from Xotic Eyes:

Yes, polers butt is a nice, shapely rear end, but not just the rear, it is the muscles leading up to it too.  To get power for many of our moves we are using plyometrics which tone and lift the butt; floor work and caterpillar/caterpillar climbs shape the hams, so you end up with the nice rounded backs of the legs and then the shapely high sitting butt.

  • Please disregard my misspellings…ugh

  • It is going to be difficult.  There were so many that purchased this and NEVER got it.  Something happened to SFL right before this was released adn she completely disappeared.  I beleive that Nymphadora here has a copy and a few others but most of the people never got their copies.

Welcome!!!!  Gotta admit, I had to look up where Kauno Apskritis was!

Most common injuries are probably shoulders and forearms.  Women tend to not have a lot of upper body strength and we are also an impatient species so we don't want to work on conditioning our bodies properly before doing a move.  As for looking like a man..no, not gonna happen.  Your core may get thicker due to the strength needed for many of the moves but at the same time you will get broad shoulders and a nice V taper, not to mention "polers butt".

Look at a lot of the top polers…I would not say a single one looks manly.

I actually learned this from Pantera.  Legs are larger muscles and it is easier to push yourself up the pole with your legs than to try to pull yourself up with your arms.  She stated that when you get to the top of the pole if you are relying sheerly on arm strength you are going to be too tired to do anything else.  Made sense to me.

I was going to ask the same thing.  There is no requirement by the state here in Ohio to have any type of certification in fitness to teach or own a studio.  At elast none that I know of.

I also think this would be awesome to fix your shoes with.

I have seen a bunch of really cool things done with this stuff (or something similar)  http://artwithlatex.com/awl/home.html

Kobajo, while I agree with you there are also a bunch of "certifications" that are a joke; this is rampant in the fitness industry.  I do not know all of the certification programs that are available in pole so I cannot comment on if there are joke cert programs creeping in.  Taking a 4 hour "workshop" in my mind does not make you certified, and there are a TON of those in fitness.  There are also a TON of online programs where you just need to test.  Just because you can answer questions correctly on a test does not mean that you can teach.  Hell, even Pantera gives you a certificate of participation when you take her workshops….so does this make me certified by Pantera? (Not knocking Pantera…if you read what the cert says it is pretty funny)  Just because you hold a piece of paper in my mind tells me nothing.  But I am also one who researches the hell out of things.  I think this is what Empy was getting at.  You really need to do your research before you buy.  And if a certification is so important to you as a student then research the organization that certified your instructor.

To embed a photo when you are typing a reponse there is a tool bar at teh top.  In between the underline and the smiley face there is a picture icon.  If you click that there will be a box you can type address link into.  Simple as that!

I guess if you do not have the have it go all the way down then it is not an issue.  I know mine has actually fallen off the bottom when I had the pole down and was making adjustments….maybe this was their fix for that?

Just out of curiosity, is this a 45 or smaller?  I wonder if because of the bearings that are in the bottom on the pole the diameter needs to be a certain size (to miminize parts needed and also increase strength at this point)?  Yeah…I am geeking out!
