    Thanks Luvlee https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

I do not use grip aid much unless I am learning a new move. Iguana mount was one because every time I put my head down my hands would start to sweat and that is one move where you don’t want to lose your grip! I also use it sometimes on my legs just because my shins sweat a lot when I am dancing and knee holds get difficult for me.

As for competitions…I think the lights on stage on top of performance jitters would turn me into a pool of dew. I would rather be slathered in grip aid than fly off the pole.

Having met David I would strongly recommend getting with him for a class. I am bummed that I am missing his Columbus classes.

I would say that the jade was not planned. She did not even get the move set. Typically she goes into it, pauses a few seconds and then does her drop stopping 6" from the ground. She bounced on her back so I would say no. I still can’t believe she walked away from both and taught the next day!

OMG…I just watched this and gasped when sh fell. The jade fall looked pretty painful too…she was not even able to get set in the pose. I know if I fell that hard either time I would be hurting BAD.

I can’t watch from work…can’t believe she fell! Wow. I known Alethea posted that she had some slippage problems. She said it was really quite warm at the event and they had all sorts of grip stuff on the poles which caused other issues and then when performing they were sweating causing slippage. I could see where she had issues just because I have watched enough of her videos to know her positioning. I saw that Rafaela had a few problems too, particularly her spatchcock (she slipped all the way to the floor on prep and then did not have the proper body position to get into it). It is too bad there were so many problems at this even this year.

I am really perturbed at the videography that was aired for this event. So many moves were lost because the guy (I assume) was trying to focus on faces and not the entire pole area. Idiot. I was glad to see Rafaela’s performance up but has anyone seen Jenyne’s??

I agree with Veena, there is nothing "wrong" with it.

I think for this to look probably the way you want you have to be able to do the splits, that way your thighs are totally straight and just the knees are bent.

The only product I have tried was Colon Blow, which was not horrible (even got a funny t-shirt out of it). It is basically fasting and taking stuff like metamucil for less than 24 hours. I will say that it does clean you out but you are not tied to the toilet. If you have a period of time when you are less than regular it is not as horrible as some of the colon cleanses I have read about. Also if you have a period of time when you you are not healthy it is an easy way of dispelling the rest of the nasties from your system. This is the only one I would even remotely recommend. If you have never taken metamucil before I will warn that the high fiber mix/drink is not easy to get down AT ALL! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif

I am a big fan of Swanson vitamins…you may want to check them out. Good prices, good quality and a bunch of buy one get one offers every month.

I have horribly inflexible hips and also shoulders. There are SO MANY moves that you can do, work on those. Flexibility will come with time. Look into picking up the S Factor 1 or 2 video. The workout is slow, controlled stretches and circular movement (plus it is way cheaper than yoga classes!!).

Time, time and more time. Your shoulder is in a very awkward position when you are getting in to this move. Possibly go an get a massage.

Ya know it’s funny because I was talking to my husband about this last night (after giving him a huge hug and kiss because posts like this make me appreciate him even more) and he brought up the strip club thing.

We have the right to define what we do. And we have the strength to challenge those who tell us we’re whores for doing it.

Listen to you! This almost brought tears to my eyes. I love watching the budding of a strong, independent woman!

I want to clarify one thing about the bar that we go to. It is in the ‘burbs and we typically go on Wednesday nights. At most there are 20 people in the bar. My husband is always there playing body guard and taking pictures. The last time that we went there were 4 guys that we were sharing the pole with (and they were doing some crazy crazy stuff!!). We have more people striking up conversations about where to learn pole dancing than anything else.

My next "fun" purchase is going to be the Kodak Playsport, mainly because I want something that is waterproof and husband proof. I also like the fact that it takes flash memory cards instead of having internal memory.

You need to invite him so that he can elbow the guy next to him and say "Yeah, that’s MY wife!!"

My ex husband probably would have been the same. He thought that any married woman should not wear revealing clothes because she was already taken and any man that let his woman do such just did not respect her. As you can see, he is my ex (for many reasons). There is an insecurity there. You are a hot momma…doesn’t he understand that you are going to attract attention just walking in to a bar?

And I did have a few issues with pictures prior to this past year. Now he just chuckles and pretty much says "Yeah, I have a great life" when people make comment. He has also stuck up for "us girls" when one of his buddies said we were going to a "Stripper Convention" up in Chicago. He told him to never call these girls strippers….they will KICK YOUR A$$!!
