Since coconut oil is a solid below 70 degrees I use a small spatula to get a little out and then warm it between my ring fingers before applying to my eyes.

SO…now that I had to scrub all this off – and I do use eye make up remover – my eyes are a bit sore. What sort of eye make up remover do you recommend???
Coconut oil!!! It is all I use to remove eye makeup any more and a little bit goes a long way. You can even use it as a moisturizer. -
I am not much on the site but I have a subscription to the magazine:
Oxygen Magazine
I am also on a really geeky body building forum that is 98% guys.

I am a strong believer in neti pots, but if you are stuffed up they will not work.
As for sore throats/losing your voice, google horseradish and honey. I know it sounds disgusting but does not taste much different than sweet and sour sauce and really works.
I remember reading somewhere that you should not take anything that dries out your sinuses as that is your body’s natural response to getting rid of nasties in your system. Of course I cannot find that article when I need it. I also will take high doses of vitamin C (like 500-1000 every hour that I am awake). There is a website called The Vitamin C Foundation that has a lot of really good info on high dose C. On the cold and flu page there are links to studies and papers that have been performed on what they recommend.
Cold/Flu Cure #1: 8 g every 20 minutes
At first sign of cold or flu, begin taking at least 8 g (8000 mg) of vitamin C as ascorbic acid every twenty minutes for 3 to 4 hours until bowel tolerance, and then smaller dosages of 2-4 g every 4-6 hours for ten days to prevent recurrence.
The ‘trick’ is achieving almost I.V. blood serum levels by mouth as described in the Hickey/Roberts book ASCORBATE: The Science of Vitamin C. Begin protocol at the first sign of a runny nose, tickle in the throat, etc. If not caught at the beginning, the infection can’t be stopped, but you may lessen its severity and duration.
Note: Any other form of the vitamin, e.g. mineral ascorbates, will be half as effective for this purpose.
Note: Avoid sugars/simple carbs, which compete with the vitamin for cellular uptake during therapy.
Note: 8 grams equals sixteen – 500 mg pills, or eight – 1000 mg pills.
This recommended surefire dosage is 4 times Irwin Stones recommendation of 2 g every 20-30 minutes for the first two to three hours. If you have trouble with 8 g, you might try lowering to Stone’s dosage for the common cold.
If you place your faith in "medical science" (or those who cloak themselves in that term when they insist that vitamin C has no benefit against the common cold) you may be surpised just how easy it is to halt a viral infection at the onset.
Cold/Flu Cure #2: 3.1 g as nasal drops or spray
If you have a low bowel tolerance or stomach distress from oral vitamin C, you may experience great benefit from the nasal spray approach. (Let us know!)
At the onset of a cold, mix 3.1 grams (3100 mg or about 1 teaspoon sodium ascorbate or ascorbic acid crystals) in 100 milliliters (ml) water or saline ( just enough to dissolve all the vitamin.)
dropper: Use dropper and place 20 drops in each nostril, or
nasal spray: place solution in clean, sterile nasal spray device and apply several fine sprays of the ascorbate solution in each nostril.
ascorbate soaked cotton balls: See this post in our forum for this alternate nasal approach for chronic sinusitis.
Repeat often, perhaps every 15 to 30 minutes for several hours, and then once per hour for 24 hours after all symptoms are gone (to prevent recurrences.) Take Irwin Stone’s 2 g dose orally.
The idea behind this technique comes from page 19 of Linus Pauling’s book HOW TO LIVE LONGER AND FEEL BETTER (1986 paperback).
"Braenden (1973) reports that administering vitamin C directly into the nasal passage increases the ascorbate concentration in the sinuses to 1000 times that which can be achieved orally. From this we surmise that, 3.1 g (3100 mg) times 1000 might mean that the spray or drops nasally is equivalent to 3 Million milligrams or "units" of Vitamin C orally!
UPDATE 09-22-2002 Feedback on Ascorbate Nasal Spray Interesting idea! Add MSM. UPDATE 06-07-2002
A Foundation member found the ascorbic acid spray a little irritating to the nostril, and made his own colloidal silver nasal spray – with excellent results!
As for the sudafed, if you are not buying it at the pharmacy itself and having to sign for it then it no longer contains pseudo-ephedrine.

I have used the multi piece pole and that is a great deal. The issue that englann is speaking of only is an issue with the Star Stand Alone stage pole and NOT the floor to ceiling pole. I have never had a pin fall out or pop out while in static mode. Again, this is an issue with the Star Stand Alone. As for it being slippery, yes, I have had issues with it but pretty much any finish is temperamental and you have to learn the conditions that make it work.
As for stainless, I think PS probably has the best stainless poles out there. Lil Mynx ones are typically the worst.
When looking at the pole:
1. Look at the ceiling dome and make sure it is not cracked
2. Make sure the pieces fit together properly. PS had a stint where the pieces would not completely fit together but that was a few years back
3. Make sure that when in static mode the pole does not have "play". There is a piece that fits into the bottom of the pole that can come loose giving the pole wiggle room. It is a fairly easy fix if you are crafty but you can ask for more money off the pole if this is the case.
4. Looks for deep scratches or dents -
Would not consider it. To me it sounds like the studio is too cheap for proper flooring or upkeep of the floor and it would make me wonder what else they are skimping on.
There was a studio in town (no longer in business) that did not allow fake nails. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

I socialize while I am at work but do not go out with these people. Quite honestly there have been very few people that I have worked with over the years (I am 41) that I had what I would consider a friendship with.
But of course I have very few "real" friends. Most any more are through forums like this and maybe I get to see them once every few years. Even my good friends I only get to see once every few months.
I am also not talkative in new situations….get me around a bunch of people I have something in common with and it is a different story, but I cannot just small talk.
I know that nothing that I have said can help but maybe just hearing that there are others like you helps.

And yeah, pretty much that is how it goes. Some things you will get right away and some it will take months to get and then just one day BOOM.

It makes sense that a grippier pole is going to give you more callouses. All it takes is a little grip adjustment on your part. Part of it also may be the 45 for the exact same reason…if you learned on a larger and slipperier pole then you have gotten used to using your hands only in one way.

I love L-Theanine for days that are difficult for me to get through. I do not suffer daily but there are some days that life just seems overwhelming and I rely on this. It is what is in green tea that calms you. I recently have had some nasty things going on in my life and this was the only thing that got me through it, and I do not worry about nasty sides or becoming addicted.

Go an buy a thin nail and a hammer. Nail it in where you think a joist may be. If it goes in way too easy it is not a joist.
In the US joists are typically 24" apart and are about 1.5" wide.

On top of it you can run lights around the base and have your own light up "stage".

Hi there…yes, you will see quite a few faces from the other forum here (although HD is still missing).
Yes, you too, beautiful! Is happydance still around or did she quit? It’s so nice to see everyone migrating to the same place. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif
Happy is no longer on any of the forums that I know of but she is regularly on facebook and also she is Goddess Granny on Megs’ Makeup. -
I bought a Seiko Cleancut several years ago and love love love the thing. It came with a Ladyfair trimmer….basically I trim the hair and then use the Cleancut. I do not get ingrowns with it and it it closer than a razor shave. I will say that it does not work as well if you have finer hair. There is another one that looks similar in design called the Body Bare but I have not ever used that one.

As far as ingrowns go, salicylic acid is what will keep them at bay. Basically go and buy some cheap acne gel or wipes (like Stridex) and use that after shaving.

Personally I use the mat for learning and until I’m secure with a move I won’t include it in my dance practice/routines as I dont like the interruption of flow caused by using a move I’m not yet secure with.
This is me too! -

I am going to throw this up here….may not be "on a budget" but I can tell you that the color and health of my hair is incredible since I started doing this.
First, for EXTREMELY DAMAGED hair, ApHOGEE is the best thing I have ever used. The stuff stinks to high hell and is a mess to use but really works wonders. It is hydrolyzed animal protein that you put in your hair and then let dry. Your hair basically is a solid mass of extreme stinkiness for several hours. After you wash it out and apply their balancing moisturizer. My hair has been to the point of rubber after perms (seriously, THAT damaged) and this is the only thing that helped me keep my hair. I am a fan of their Keratin Recontructor and their leave in Green Tea and Keratin spray also. Again, this is for hair that has been so damaged that it is breaking and falling out
For lightly damaged hair I swear by the Ion 3 step emergency service. When I used to chemically color my hair I would do this prior to coloring to get a more even processing and coloring.
HOWEVER…I have not had to use any of these products in the last 3 years because of my new love, which is henna. I am not talking the compound stuff that you hear horror stories about, I am talking the pure ground leaves of henna that is used for tattoos. I found Henna for Hair when my hair was so damaged that it stopped accepting color and it was 2 different colors. Using cassia you can get strawberry blond, using amla you can get brown and using indigo you can get black. There are also several shades of red depending on the region that the henna is grown. The process if kind of long and your hair smells like wet hay for about a week after but the color NEVER washes out. NEVER. This is the "problem" with henna…it does not come out so you have to be committed to it. BUT, my hair is healthy, shiny and the most gorgeous shade of auburn that I could never get out of a box. And the grey coverage is out of this world. In the sun my hair pretty much glows. This pic was taken a few weeks ago with a friend of mine:

Did the one on paypal possibly expire? Even though it may be the same number the expiration date and CCV number on the back will change.

I have days and sometimes weekends where I CONSTANTLY eat…it is usually bad food too which makes me crave even more bad food. I have to make a conscious effort to eat something healthy and that will usually put a stop to the madness.
