Middle of August is going to be rough for Charley as she is competing in Midwest Pole Comp on the 25th (BTW, aren't you too, Kyrelle??). I would also check out Detroit Fly house (seeing as you are on silks in your photo).
I am not sure if Shadow is teaching at any specific studio but I know she offers privates when she comes to Cleveland. You might want to hit her up.

MemberJuly 17, 2012 at 7:38 am in reply to: Charitable organizations that are pole studio friendly?Tinu's issue was totally blown out of proportion. She was trying to use the charity's name on the event listing and they do not do that PERIOD. It does not matter if you are a pole studio or a church, they simply do not allow you to use their name.
Here in Cleveland we have raised money for rape crisis centers and I know that St Louis does this fairly regularly too. Look into shelters, womens homes, food kitchens….things that are more local that may not get big government funding. See if any of your students are involved with any organizations.

If you would have read what was stated earlier
"Latisse is actually Lumigan, which is a glaucoma medication. It was found that the eyelashes of people using it were significantly longer and fuller after a short period of use. The discoloration of the iris actually is a side effect of using it as a glaucoma medication, where you are dispensing drops directly into your eye, and it can change your eye color to brown permanently. Latisse was born out of the side effect finding and it is applied very lightly to the lash line so the chances of iris discoloration is slim."

MemberJuly 15, 2012 at 8:03 pm in reply to: What your first pole was and how functional it was for you?The first pole I ever purchased was a LM hot pink powder coated. At the time only LM and PS were making poles and PS I am not sure even had the poles they have now. If they did they were extremely expensive. 45 mm poles did not exist. I had that pole for 3 years until I won an X in a contest.
A pole will only be functional if you use it. If I were to buy a pole now X would be my pole of choice for numerous reasons.

There is a whole discussion going on regarding the direction that pole is going. So many of the competitions are stating "no overtly sexy moves" etc, hence making the comps more like a gymnastics routine than a pole dance. How many of us get pissed about being called strippers? How many of us have explained that it is a good form of exercise and totally glossed over how it has brought us to terms or even helped us find our sexy? This I believe is what this campaign is about. Australia has kept that sexy edge but for some reason we feel that we need to hide it in our competitions to be seen as legit. Think about it.

Oooooo….I have not tried itac on top of lg.

What kind of pole do you have? Matt from Jasmine Dragons makes his own poles that spin but they are always on spin….no option of putting it on or off. I think this is what you are going to run into if you make a modification, either always on or always off.

MemberJuly 11, 2012 at 12:39 pm in reply to: Seeking nutrition advice–anyone tried Poletein?I will just state that not all protein sources are the same and not all protein sources have this effect on cancer. Campbell researched protein's effect on turning and off cancer promotion and it was specific to casein. However generalizations have been made that ALL protein sources act as casein does, which has never been proven. It does not aid in cancer development, it affects development after you already have cancer. Those are two very distinctly different things.

We had itac (all levels), dry hands, mighty grip and liquid grip. I now carry all of these in my "bag" plus I have added (all three levels)….Oh, and a rosin bag!. One can never be too prepared!

I am also leery of any protein on the market that does not have an amino acid profile. Besides taste and cost this is what needs to be looked at, afterall, it is not proteing that helps recomp but the amoni acids that are in the protein. This is the main reason there are so many protein powders out there…the BCAA profile. Here is a good article that explains what to look for in a good protein and what the different aminos do:

I do not have very sweaty hands but when I get warm or am trying something new this is my go to aid. To me it is like a mix between a tack aid and drying aid. It definitely does dry your hands and works a million times better if you are sweaty over dry. It also makes them sticky like if you got something sweet on your hands and it dried, but not obnoxiously so. A long time ago on the forums they had talked about using 7up in a spray bottle on your legs….it is that kind of sticky.

This is the stuff I use and fell in love the first time I tried it. You can get large bottles of it through Vitamin Shoppe (and I think they have it in theh stores, too). I have one of the little bottles that is almost always in my purse (you never know!).
I will add that this stuff will stay on you until you wash.

Eike VonStuckenbrock and Remi Martin.
They have a few videos together. See if it is them (I cannot see vids at work).
