BMI…but honestly I don't know of any small studio that is paying this. And according to BMI, the business owner is responsible. So if you are working out of a studio, they would be the ones to pay the licensing fee. These are the same people that shut down Napster and Limewire.

mcuellar, OMG, seriously your teacher says these things? How are these not meant in a mean way? Unless you are in a bootcamp type class where the instructors are supposed to be a pain in the butt I would seriously talk to this instructor or the owner.

Knowing Charley I think you may have taken what she said about pulling someone off to the side in the wrong way. It was not as a calling out that you are bigger type of thing but rather being sensitive to someone and not talking about it in front of other students.
I have pulled up videos of quite a few ladies after class and showed my students that you do not have to be a size 2 to rock the pole.

Also look up superman drop tutorials as it is a similar mechanism of getting into the final positio. You have to thread the arm through just as you would if you were doing a twisting dismount from an invert.

Seriously…that last part is called a Holly Drop. There are a million tutorials/videos of this move on youtube.

My studio also has mindbody and we routinely have wait lists and half full classes. It is annoying!

You can also get into an outside leg hang (watch holly drop videos) or go into a Tammy.

Sally Beauty has a great product called curlformers. There are a bunch of videos on youtube regarding them also. They have to be in your hair for several hours/overnight but the curl STAYS.

Had mine up for over 3 years and never had an issue. the problem that a lot of girls had was it eating through the drywall ceiling and then it giving out but this does not seem to be as much of an issue if you follow their new direstions on tightening. It is my bet that you did not have it adjusted properly to begin. You should have to press HARD to be able to get it into place.

Right over stainless it should not be a problem. Chrome is a coating as it is. I looked around the web for powder coating over chrome and most said it needs to be sandblasted or roughed or removed prior to powder coating but the roughing is a normal step in the process anyway.

I have extremely coarse hair and have this problem. Supposedly the more you wax the finer your hair gets but this has never been true for me.

Note that powder coating may not work on chrome poles. I am not sure if it has to be a "clean" surface for it to adhere properly and the shop may charge you to remove the chrome first. Just something to be aware of.

Been poling for 4 years and do not have any stretch marks from it. Callouses, bruises, scars yes, stretch marks no. But I am also not prone to them. If this is a concern I would look into supplements that are known to help elasticity of your skin.

Sally Beauty has a product also that is half the price of Tend Skin, or go the cheap route and just buy salicylic acid acne gel (same activve ingredient).

Powder coating is typically done by auto shops that specialize in customizations. Even body shops might know of someone in your area.
I will say though that powder coating can and will rip your skin especially when it is warm. Learning to grip for things like spins is very different.

This comes from both music exploration and self exploration. There are songs that I love and would think would make a great dance but when I play it for poling it just seems strained. Then there are songs that I would never have thought would work and I totally lose myself in. Those are the dances that I try to remember and figure how my body is moving. It will reveal itself to you once you shut down your brain and stop trying to figure it out.

It is one of her own signature moves. Becca does a lot of aerial work (corde lisse, silks) and tryied to translate some of those into pole moves. Basically it is an aerial fan kick (windmill) into a hip key dropped into a leg hang…or an aerial fan kick into a holly drop.
