This is not necessarily true.  It all depends on what country you are in and what company they get to do the rigging.  In Australia the poles are brass and 38 mm.  Platinum Stages does not make chrome poles.

This is disclosed prior to compatition so that you can practice on the appropriate pole diameter and metal.

Natural Calm (magnesium) is my best friend.  Trust me, this has been discussed here before so no worries.  Not only is it good on a low dose on a regular basis but if you use about a tablespoon in hot water before you go to bed you WILL be cleaned out the next morning.  And it does not linger like some laxatives do (as in having the shits all day).

Jsut saw the question about the S Factor videos.  I have the first series which were The Beginning, Itermediate and Lap Dance and Polework 101.  There is a Soulfully sexy series that has come out but I have not seen it.  The workout is a very slow/sexy/sensual movement and gets you used to moving slowly and learning to control slow movement.  You can generally find them dirt cheap used through Amazon or ebay.  I have not seen the Be Spun or Alethea dvds so I cannot compare them, but if you are looking to slow down your movement or pick up some slinky floor work it is worth the investment.  If you are just looking at getting one of the videos, look for the first one.

The book I originally checked out from my library.  It explains the moves but sometimes is hard to follow while you are trying to move.  There is also a really good section in there about music and finding what they call your erotic creature.

If you do not have an issue with your size then I would not be too worried.

First things I would check are diet and thyroid.  If you eat a proper diet for your body and execrise level it is difficult to get too skinny.  If these are in check then I would have my thyroid function checked as an overactive thyroid can lead to being extremely thin.

We did a doubles routine to Stranglehold for a fetish ball.  Actually it was 3 of us total with one being our "master".

Check out Gravity Plays Favorites or Dakota Fox for some music/routine suggestions.

There are some GREAT dubstep sexy songs on a playlist called Filthy Filthy Dubsexxx on 8tracks.  Hopefully this link will work.  Unfortunately you really cannot skip too many songs but it is worth the listen: http://8tracks.com/burchbabexo/filthy-filthy-dubsexxx

No, I am not saying that there are not certain skills that you need to advance, I was not saying that at all.  I was saying that TG being a requirement in my opinion in ludicrous.

There are a ton of threads here regarding pain from handsprings and split grips.  Most of it comes down to 3 things: improper form, improper strength or kicking into the move.

As for a studio that requires TG handspring to move up a level….I cannot even go there.  Just wow.

Tansy, I am always keeping an eye on Craigslist and ebay for shoes.  Also I know that The Mission has clearance shoes every once in a while pretty dirt cheap.  They have a few over there right now for under $30.  http://themissionboutique.com/clearance/

I also like to check 6pm for clearance items.  http://www.6pm.com/clearance

    First off, welcome!!

I will start with grip aids first.  You will find out in short order if you are a sweater.  Just please be sure you unserstand the difference between not having the skill/strangth to perform a move or having issues with grip due to climate/sweaty hands/etc.

I have not had issues with colored marks but I would think that a magic eraser should take care of them fairly easily or you can get ceiling paint for pretty cheap.

Rubbing alcohol should not be a problem ever on your pole.

I would at minimum check your pole seasonally.  Many say monthly but rarely have I found anyone who really does this.  With the change in seasons you can have shifting and or shrinking/swelling of the ceiling and floor which can cause a dangerous situation for your pole.

If you watch her video from Midwest this past year she has it in it.  I know she had a vid on YT about it also.
