One of the big mistakes I see is people keeping their toes pointed when they walk. When the foot comes forward your foot should be flexed…..when we walk we land on our heels, not our toes.

If you are looking to rig poles you may need to get with ps or x as I believe they have different top pieces to attach to the cages. I do know that it is ridiculously expensive which is why so many go with stage poles for events.

Just a note, typically the emails from “paypal” are not actually from paypal but from a phishing scam that is trying to get your financials. I have had paypal for well over a decade also with different cards and my bank account attached and have never once had an issue with them. Not once. They are quicker to refund your money than most websites and they will go to battle for you. I much prefer sites where I can pay through paypal as I feel that is safer than giving a company my credit card info.

    Just my 2 cents.

While that is an old event, there is contact information.

BTW, I just searched aerial rigging Chattanooga.

If you know the venue I would check with them first. Many times they have a company they have worked with in the past.

A quick google search also found me this: https://www.facebook.com/chattanoogaaerials/posts/608532349198307

This is a good lesson that not all organic and “chemical nasty” free products work for every body. Ginkgo is known as an allergen, especially to those who have nut allergies and who are severely allergic to things like poison ivy and oak.

“Ginkgo fruit and pulp can cause severe allergic skin reactions and irritation of mucous membranes. Ginkgo might cause an allergic reaction in people who are allergic to poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, mango rind, or cashew shell oil.

There is some concern that ginkgo leaf extract might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. Ginkgo thins the blood and decreases its ability to form clots. A few people taking ginkgo have had bleeding into the eye and into the brain, and excessive bleeding following surgery. Ginkgo leaf extract can cause allergic skin reactions in some people.” (source: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/333.html)

Now this is for taking it orally but PP does have ginkgo extract in it which can cause issues.

I also have an issue with their term “nature identical”.

I cannot even begin to count the number of times I have gotten a dress stuck on me in the fitting room! There is nothing quite like the panic of being unable to get out of a piece of clothing.

Pole while travel for me depends on duration of the trip, if I am with my husband and how far the studio is. I have poled more when travelling alone just because I usually want to keep myself busy in the evenings. When I am with my husband we go out exploring which I don’t do as much on my own.

Azblanco is in NOLA. I know there used to be I think 2 studios there but not sure if that info is still current. A friend of mine used to live there and teach but she has recently gone to NYC to train. I would contact Az and she where she poles and worst case you have someone that you can pole with! https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4dd069ae-0e40-450c-905c-64100ac37250

Do you know what happened to the advanced instructors that you enjoyed? Some times management becomes too much for them to bear, sometimes they go to other studios, etc. See if you can track them down.

I will say it is hard coming back from an injury and dealing with what you used to be able to do and what you can or cannot do now. I am also not about the tricking. Can you talk to the owner and request more dancey type classes be added back to the curriculum?

Yes! There are a few here that have gotten bags with the XPole logo, it is SUPER easy to copy instructions and the X on the pole is engraved and has been showing up on some of the fake poles. The dome and the serial number are the easiest ways to know, that and XJoints. Many of the fake poles are threaded similar to the very first X’s that came out.

I found this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Showgirl-Dance-Portable-X-pole-Xpole/dp/B0037BVULC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407462489&sr=8-1&keywords=showgirl+dance+pole

It certainly looks like the Kendra pole. This is the description:The 45mm Showgirl Chrome Sport Pole replaces the Kendra Sport Pole. The contract X-Pole had with Kendra Wilkinson expired but this is the same pole without Kendra’s name on it. This bottom loading dance pole is easy to install. No ladder needed to install or remove this portable dance pole. The Showgirl Sport Version Does NOT Spin but allows for advanced spin moves with ease. The X-Pole Sport is a stationary, bottom-loading pole featuring the revolutionary X-Joint. With the X-Pole Sport’s unique adjuster system, you can expand and fully lock the pole in position without ever leaving the ground. The X-Pole Showgirl contains all the parts needed for ceiling heights of 7ft 4in to 9ft. It is offered in 50mm (2in) diameter and in the Chrome finish. Base Plate – 9in diameter Main Pole A (bottom pole) with attached height adjuster rod and locking nut Foam adjuster rod cover – Covers threads so you won’t scrape arms or legs Main Pole B (top pole) – Only the Main Pole A and Main Pole B are needed for ceiling heights of 7ft 4in – 7ft 9in 125mm (5in) extension – Attach this extension for ceiling heights 7ft 9in – 8ft 2in 250mm (10in) extension – Attach this extension for ceiling heights of 8ft 2in – 8ft 7in Combine both the 125mm with the 250mm for ceiling heights of 8ft 6in – 9ft 1x 180mm (7in) X-Joint – Comes attached to the125mm extension and used with the smallest extensions that are closest to the ceiling 2x 200mm (8in) X-Joints – Used to connect all larger pole pieces Upper Support Plate.

Not taking any workshops as I don’t have the cash flow, or at least didn’t prior to my promotion. I will however be floating around all weekend….just look for the loud red head and it will most likely be me! I will be wearing one of the staff tanks all weekend also, and I will try to have my Veena pin on, too.

Nope, it is not an x pole. The dome of the X does not have that curvature that this one does. Not sure how to help out in this situation. The knock offs generally do not have customer support.

I forgot to add, also if you are an instructor and that is your only income if you get injured have to have surgery or if you are sick you have just completely lost your income. Again, I don’t know a single instructor that has not had to take time off due to overuse of body, some injury or having to have surgery for something

I honestly do not know a single instructor where instructing is their only job. Many of the studio owners also this is not the only job. While you may get paid $20-$50 an hour to teach a class it is not something that anybody’s body can handle for 40 hours a week. On top of that most studios are not even open during the day so at most you can teach three hours or possibly four hours in the evenings. There is nobody getting rich being a pole instructor.

As far as performances, those gigs are few and far between and you are lucky if you get paid $50 for your performance.

Don’t think I am trying to be a buzz kill here, I am trying to explain the reality of being a pole instructor or performer.

I have heard good things about both Brass Vixens and Aradia. I don’t know what poles either use but I don’t think you will be unhappy at either.
