I don’t think she’ll be using it too much now that she’s annouced her pregnancy! She now has her own reality show called "Kendra". It just premiered last Sunday on E! channel. I like Kendra I find her funny and goofy and she’s always been into fitness and loves to dance! She has a pole in her living room that was put in on her first episode. She did some inverts and the chopper.

Hi everyone, My name is Rachel. I am new to this whole Pole dancing, well just dancing in general! I have no background experience is dance! So I hope this looks as easy as some of you girls make it look. I am 25 years old, married, a veteran of the United States army, a mommy of my beautiful little girl Madison and a fulltime student. I am ordering my first pole today, lil mynx. I cant wait to get started. Right now I am just having a good time watching the videos you ladies have posted. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
Welcome to the site. I agree with Foxy pole dance moms rock! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
You will love the site the girls are great and I really recommend the lessons they help so much too. I too have a Lil Mynx pole and we are the minority, but I have had no problems with mine I love it! -
I’m sorry girl. This sucks. I am thinking of you and keep us updated.

Dam guys, with work, school and a full time boyfriend I haven’t had time to practice. lately the weathers been cold/rainy so I put the pole up! man its been a month since my last spin. I lost all strength and knowledge O_o feels like I’m starting over every time. I dont think i’ll be an awesome poler, but i want my spins to be faster, and stronger arms. Plus i have sweaty ass hands! haha i feel i look so bad i cant even post a vid up yet! Hmmm maybe I should record myself and see. Any tips? or info how long it took you to progress…or gain confidence
thank you
Doesn’t the weather in So Cal suck? What is up with this June Gloom? It’s been non-stop cloudy and rainy for like a week and a half! I did some poling last night and had no grip at all! Usually I have too much grip! I can finally invert and can do an inverted crucifix once in awhile. I am trying to do the catterpilar, but I can’t get myself coordinated. I am having so much trouble with the falling angel knee hold. It hurts my calf so much. The only time I can do that move really good is when I have my vinyl knee high boots on and then they slide down too! Uggg. I feel I am learning sooooo slowly! You should definately post a video. I posted some and got some really great advice and cirtique that has really helped me. I will be posting another one soon of my struggles to do inverted crucifix and the other moves. Hang in there and keep practicing.

Glad that you are concerned about ur body. You need to clean up your diet. Breakfast should be Old-fashioned Quaker oat 1 minute oatmeal (not flavored), a pinch of brown sugar and 4 raisins and any type of berry u like. Have 1 Activia yogurt at some point during the day. or cheerios with non fat milk and berries is good too. egg whites are okay also, u can buy the kind in the carton. use pam not oil or butter, don’t eat your eggs with bread.
snack on carrots, celery, broccoli, apple throughout the day.Lunch, have as much lettuce (any kind) as you like with veggies and canned white tuna in water, ( i love kirkland brand at costco) check the fat content to make sure u are getting white tuna. dressing, make your own, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or lemon. or buy non fat sprinkle salt and pepper. If you dont like tuna you can have chicken breast the size of your palm instead.
low fat lean ground turkey breast is really good. roll it into patties like a burger and you can eat it with ketchup, mustard and even a low fat cheese slice melted on it for dinner or lunch with a salad or veggies.
crystal light is good to put in your water. drink lots of water!!!! NO soda, no juice check calories on every beverage you will be surprised. some are a meal!!! stay away from white foods like rice, potatoes, and white bread!!!
Dinner chicken or meat the size of your palm. steamed veggies (broccoli, spinach, asparagus) squeeze lemon and a bit of olive oil if necessary.
snacks. if you are craving a carb buy the 100 calorie low fat microwavable popcorn and eat one bag ONLY!!! or 100 calorie bags of oreo or other cookie if you need a dessert and just eat one bag. or buy low sodium turkey cold cuts from the supermarket and have a couple slices with mustard. for lunch you can make a sandwich with low sodium turkey and wheat bread.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! YOU’RE ACNE WILL GET BETTER WHEN YOU CUT OUT THE BAD STUFF!!!
ask me any questions. hope this helps. put your scale in front of you fridge if you have too!!! it sounds psychotic but who cares. get in shape and feel good, girl!!! let me know if this helps
Awesome info you rock!

I’m sorry that you have high triglyceride’s, but your Dr.’s office is doing their job because accutane reacts with the liver to raise cholesterol. How’s your LDL versus HDL levels? Trigylceride’s are formed in the liver when you eat more food than your body needs. Google the "DASH" diet. This diet is for the obese to quickly reduce high blood pressure, and is also perfect for those with fatty liver disease. ( I lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks on this menu) but you will have a fantastic reduction in your cholesterol. Eat complex carbs. No processed food! Eat oatmeal with no sugar for breakfast, and have salads at lunch and dinner. It’s no necessary to count calories while you eat veg. If you want to eat fruit, or root vegetables such as potatoes or beets for example, you need to eat these with a grain because the grain will slow the body’s absorption of the fruit/root vegetable. The menu won’t be boring, and it has so many alternatives for you. Good luck!
THanks I will defiantely check out that diet. I had no idea about the grain slowing the absorption process.

Our lease is up and we’ve been looking for a new rental. We think we’ve found the perfect house EXCEPT the only room that is large enough to practice in has a vaulted ceiling. I don’t believe the xpole has an attachment mount for that, does it? Everything I’ve read is that xpoles are exclusively for even surfaces. Hmmmm, maybe I’m going to have to trade in my xpole for a lil mynx???
I bought the perfect house and the only room big enough that I could put it in was the living room. Our living room has huge vaulted ceilings. I ended up getting a Lil Mynx pole with a vaulted ceiling mount. It is still removeable so when company comes over I can take it down, but the mount remains. Most of my family knows I have it so its usually up for the most part. I pasted the link below. They also have static and spinning poles in different finishes and sizes. I have no problems with my pole I love it!
Here are their poles:

My father-in-law swears by fish oil supplements for lowering triglyceride levels. They really are amazing. And if you can live without it, try cutting out dairy from your diet. By the way, I just want to double check on something: did you fast for 12 hours before taking the 2nd test?
Good luck. Keep us posted.
I too have heard from my co-workers that fish oil works awesome. I will be heading to the store this weekend for sure. I did fast for more that 12 hours actually.

If I do it with my legs ON the pole I have 2 kinds.
The body roll on the pole – with legs wrapped on the pole like they would be for a climb.
For this one – do a pole climb – but do not press your stomach to the pole once you get up. Keep your bum away. Now squeeze your knees, thighs etc tight and do a body roll (put your collarbone on the pole, then your boobs, then tip your head back and put your stomach on, and then go back to starting position with your bum out.) You obviously can’t undulate as much as you can if you do a body roll standing on the floor. But it still looks cool. If you let your legs slip a bit, that’s okay too coz you can body roll down the pole, basically — til you get back to standing. The body roll on the pole – while sitting, gripping with thighs, legs out in front.
This is just a pole sit nd you do a body roll with your torso – but you’ll notice that as you do the roll/wave, your hips move which will make your legs move. This is good! Let your legs particpate in the sort of floaty movement. I think it looks a bit like a mermaid when done this way. All the grip is in your thighs for this one.Anyone got advice for the legs OFF version? Like I said, my whole body drifts/rotates to one side, until it pulls me off the pole totally. Is this my abs? shoulders? lats?
Thanks for the advice I will be trying it this weekend!
-
I’ve seen both moves with your knees on the pole and your legs completely off the pole. I am more interested right now with legs still on the pole as I can assure you my upper body strength and pole experience is still being worked on!

I talked to my Dermo’s nurse and they will NOT let me fill my prescription. My cholesteral is over 400! I don’t know how that it possible. I think because the night before my tests my fiance passed his contractor’s license test and we celebrated. I ate quite a bit and had 1 beer. I stopped eating at 8pm. I had to fast for 8 hours. I had my blood work done around 8am the next morning! I think that is what happened. I NEVER eat that late or so much plus I had dessert. I am so mad at myself. Now I have to do another lab on Monday morning and the doctor will look at the results on Tuesday. I was totally looking forward to getting that prescription filled. I burst out crying because my face looks horrible! Why do I have the bad luck?!?

Yeah for accutane!!!! I had managable acne in my teens and early twenties, but after I had my first baby it turned into horrible cystic acne. Oh it was so painful!!! The doctor was confused because she said usually acne gets better after you have babies, but obviously that wasn’t the case for me. I went on accutane last summer and had the best experience!!! If it wasn’t so bad for you I would be on it for the rest of my life! I normally have VERY oily skin, and it is still oily since going off accutane, but definitely not half as bad as it was. And I don’t get the cystic acne anymore, just a minor break out every now and then, but nothing that can’t be controlled by topical creams. I remember hearing and reading so many horror stories about being on accutane, so I was so scared to start it, but besides the dryness it was awesome, and I will so do it again if I have to. Acne is so debilitating, and it not only scars physically, but emotionally as well. People who are blessed enough to have always had nice skin don’t realize how lucky they are, and don’t understand how painful it can be. I’ve heard a lot of ‘"You need to change your diet" or "You need to try this natural remedy", but some people don’t know that some forms of acne are genetic and there isn’t anything you can do to make it go away. Anyways…good luck and I am so excited and happy for you! Keep us posted https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I had horrible acne in my teens. I went on Accutane and I became a whole different person. I was more sociable, happy and confidant. When I became pregnant instead of having beautiful, glowing skin I started getting minor breakouts. They got worse once I actually gave birth. The last 3 years though it has been really bad. I have huge cystic acne along my jaw line and on my cheeks. I even get them on/near my ear and they hurt so bad! This weekend I couldn’t even enjoy myself because I thought everyone was starting at my face. I waited so long to go on Accutane again because I heard you are limited to taking it only twice in your life. It is no longer the case. You can take it multiple times as long as you follow all the guidelines.

I used to have horrible acne, and for my age, I still do… it’s gotten better since high school, but it’s still really bad. It’s all stuff under the skin. My husband picks on me sometimes, says some of the pimples need their own area code. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I refuse to wear make-up because of it.
Almost everything I’ve tried has dried my face out really badly, like the dry skin peeling off my face is just as unsightly as the acne itself (hence the reason why I stopped using anything). So does this stuff do that, too??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Foxy,
The stuff did not dry out my face. It is an oral pill so it’s not like that crap you smear on your face that makes it peel. It does have some minor draw backs. You can’t get waxed, use vasoline on your lips, sunblock always and it may get worse for 1-2 weeks then poof they are gone! I used this stuff when I was 14 and it last until I was about 24 and it slowly started coming back. Usually a dermo will make you do many other meds and creams before prescribing Accutane just because the strength of the stuff. I would talk to your doctor to discuss it further, but it is wonderful and I can’t wait to get my face cleared up! -
OK so there have been some mixed feelings and opinions, which are greatly appreciated. I gained 70 pounds when I was pregnant. You know it’s bad when your doctor tells you, you are gaining too much pregnancy weight for one baby. Gaining 10 pounds a month was bad. I lost it all! Then I gained 15 pounds when my Dad died in a motorcycle accident. I am eating right and exercising. I am not trying to take the easy way out. It’s not like I am tryi8ng to get thinner. I simply want to lose the extra lose skin! I hate doing floor moves on my hands and knees and my stomach is hanging low and wobbling around! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I agree with roxy, you absolutely cannot tighten extra lose skin. It has nowhere to go. I am not trying to change my face at all. I am simply trying to fix the belly situation so I can enjoy the way I look. Thanks to everyone for the support!P.S.
I am gonna post a pic this weekend so then maybe you will understand the lose skin situation. -
I’ve also been pretty open about my self inflicted wounds. I carry scars that make me very self-conscious. They have procedures to fix them. Some people may look down on this as well by saying "well you shouldn’t have done that to yourself in the first place". There have been many events in my life that brought me to that extreme.
I know how you feel. I was also a cutter for many many years. I am half mexican, so with darker skin I keloid very easily. I have since hidden most of my self-inflicted scars with tattoos. HAHA I just can’t seem to get away with marking my body in some ways. I am scared of scars from a tummy tuck. With my BA they did the implants through my belly button so there are no scars. I am not sure how the scars will look with a tummy tuck on me. That is definately a down fall for me.
It’s defiantly a personal decision you have to really think through. How long have you been dancing??? If your new to this you might want to give it some time. I lost 30 lbs pole dancing and changing my diet. I don’t have kids though, so I can’t relate in that way. Ultimately, do what makes you happy.

I’ve been dancing for almost 2 months. It’s not really that I need to lose weight, its that I can’t get the lose skin to ever firm up! It doesn’t matter if I lose weight or do 100 crunches a day, nothing will work. Its a matter of I have too much skin now. I am only doing it for myself. I could care a less what society thinks, it’s what I think that matters! Thanks!

I wouldn’t use lotion. Can be bad for the pole and it could be dangerous if it’s too slippery. It’s kinda a motto not to use any lotions or oils and such when you pole.
How long have you do your pole? Stainless is the worst with grip when it’s brand new and gets grippier the more you use it. Have you had it for a long time and it’s just getting too grippy now??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
I have had my pole for pnly about 2 months. I have no idea why it is so "grippy" now! My skin just sticks too good. It hurts or annoying because I can’t get down graceful since I am stuck!
-
Thanks everyone I will definately take more time for stretching. I am limited on time alot or I just want to get right down to poling that I kinda rush warm-up to be honest. I do need to drink more water I know that much!

Thanks anyways for responding. I have a LIl Mynx stainless steel pole. I don’t use lotion when I am gonna use my pole. Maybe I should to help me slip https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

The ones I am looking are vinyl knee high boots! They are 55.00 and free shipping! Just do a search for stripper shoes and narrow search to boots and your size and they’ll come up!
-
I am having a custom pole made for my boat! That’s as close to poling and water I’ll go!
-
I just got over the pain. I would give it a rest a day or two then continue on. It felt like my joints/knuckles were so severely bruised I couldn’t hold on to the pole. It was bad for over a week. I just took tylenol and then pain is now totally gone.
-
I used to have the opposite problem. My legs were too short and super skinny. I took them to a shoe repair place and they altered them for me. I am not sure what they can do with vinyl boots, but they might be able to help.

Hey fellow newbie I too posted a similar thread a week or two ago so we are in the same boat. It no longer hurts me to climb or sit. My skin got used to the "sitting" with 2-3 weeks. The only thing that really hurts right now is leaning downward into the falling angel knee hold. You are really luck because I am nowhere need doing even the basic invert. It totally sucks because I keep practicing and not improving that. Good luck. I know it hurts now, but trust me it will get better!
