That's an interesting thread ! I'm always in search for a new way of getting out  of Superman.

The only ones I know  are the Aerial Shoulder Mount and the superman fall (superman into tuck or scorpio).

I also started AA's pure split & stretching for pole few weeks ago. I try to do them once or twice a week and I've seen some results so far, especially in my facial which is waaaaay better now !

I already have my side splits on both sides but I can do them only if my body is really warm and I've done some stretching exercises for hamstrings and quads before, I haven't seen any progress on those….but I'm confident. I'm also doing Felix Cane's Flexibility dvd as well when I've enough time.

As you said Tarah, the first week I was so motivated I started doing them every day (it's written on the dvd that you have to practise 5 times per week to see improvements) and on the third day I wasn't able to do anything and my muscles were begging for mercy so I've decided to give them some rest in between stretching and it's better now. Plus, I think Veena said in one of the streching lesson that you should stretch no more than thrice a week when you are a beginner 🙂

I don't think you should move to the advanced move rightnow if you're just back. You might have the technique but not the strenght and you might hurt yourself badly if you are pushing too much on your muscles. I think you need to get a bit stronger and start again from the begining, doing push-ups and cruches (or you can bring your knee to your chest several times, like you do when you work on your inverted V/chopper) and pole hold.

I don't know if you have veena's lessons but in the beginner part there are plenty of exercices that are good to build up your strenght.

I also have trouble with that one too.

I've watched every single video I could find to master that move but  Ican't figure it out. I'm using the cupped grip because it's the only one which really works for me, I get nowhere with the others.

At first I started with just scissors kicks then I tried to bring my knees against my chest as you would when working on the Open V/Chopper. I started being pretty good at that so I thought I was ready to try SM from the floor but…I can't do anything there !!! I mean, if I lie my entire body on the floor it's ok but if I  move up just a little bit, I can't move, my butt is stuck on the ground and it feels soooo heavy !

I'm actually better when standing and if I give a bit of momentum I can lift my leg a little bit higher but it doesn't change anything 'cuz I can't lift my butt up and I know this is a key point.

So, I've decide to try shoulder dismount to see exactly what is wrong and the muscles I should engage and I'm actually great at it, i could it over and over but still, it's not enought and I can"t do my SM. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but arrrrg it's driving me crazy !

    Thanks !

I'll try that. I'm also getting into it from a butterfly/flatline scorpio combo, I find it easier that way to be into the proper position.

Hey Veeners, I've got some trouble with my Allegra because I can't straighten my leg.

I don't think it's a matter of flexibility because I've my lateral splits on both sides and I can even reach and catch the feet of my free leg when doing the allegra but still, not able to straighten that other leg, I just feel completely stuck there.

Could it be that my hand on the pole is too high or too low ?

Hello Veeners, I'm considering buying Felix Cane's dvds but I'm hesitating a lot as it's quite expensive and I'm still a student so maybe I'll just buy the intermediate one but well, I don't know. I'm afraid that even the beginner one might be difficult for me, so that would be great if someone who has bought the series could tell me what are the different tricks and spins which are covered through the differents volumes, so that I would know exactly which one I need.
