aw megan sorry to hear that.. i took a private with alethea at pole con last year, and i was super beginner then. couldnt even invert, now i can and she worked with me really well.
did you stay at her house recently when she start offering those packages? i know she specifically geared that type of training to girls who want to compete so maybe her attitude was much different at that point?i would absolutely go to australia if could go anywhere in the world for pole. its the mecca and so much going on over there with pole!
I actually emailed Zoraya last week about her packages and for what you’re getting, its not bad at all. Ive heard wonderful things about her teaching. I met her too and she is super sweet!

I totally agree with Saphyre!
I have been encouraged from others in the past that I should try to work through it and not rely on grip aids. I can see the reasoning behind this, so you don't become reliant on it. I can see where it could help you gain more grip strength without using it. And I do know using grip aids does NOT give you strength. I wish it did. HaHa!
But If you feel more secure with it, then use it! I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and winters are almost non-existant here. Its always hot and humid.
75% of the time I would not have a productive pole session if I do not use dry hands.

one of the studios near me, teaches inverts the first day you go…….. one girl was teaching a elbow stand to a CAR sit up, and i piped in and said that move is NOT a beginner move and that it is a toughy… The teacher told me, "OH NO ITS NOT" and then when she went to demonstrate to the student, she fell on her head… I laughed out loud, and she just looked at me… I couldn't contain myself. I don't ever wish bad or that someone gets hurt, but thats what she got for being rude to me and thinking she knows everything

The studio that I started at and absolutely LOVED, closed down a year ago.. But she had her setup in a old, historical building in the french quarter with genuine, old cherry colored wood floors. Super tall ceilings, and she was suppose to get large mirrors but that new happened before she closed. It was very well lit, but I like that in a studio.
The space was beautiful and so was her instruction. Now she lives out of state.
She was New Orleans only hope for continued quaility pole instruction, and now shes gone. Still breaks my heart.

Me too! every single top and bottom i want,doesnt have my size in the color i want! its frustrating. i was given 200$ egift card and dont even want anything else because everything I want they dont have… i emailed them and they said they will be getting new sizes and colors in the new year. i guess ill wait

well it was only 60ish degrees outside in my area… being in the south it doesn't get too cold here… i had my central heat on 80

i played last night and thought about you lyme… since we seem to have the same issue… my house and heater was on 82 degrees and i didn't have an issue with the pole itself, but by then i was sweating and sliding…. there is no win win right now with this weather…

my mighty grip gloves DO NOT work on my brass… they are perfect when i tried them on chrome though….
im about to say screw it and buy a powder coat and a chrome pole and just have all three and use whatever one that works best on that day… when i move homes of course -

i am also very curious to order bobbis portable pole from australia which is really a pussycat pole that bobbi made removable that she now sells.
its australian made and they are not a large company so maybe their brass is better?
I jusr dont have the 800$ for it right now… they are a lot more pricey and I dont even want to know what it will cost to ship the thing…
after buying the pole and shipping i could have bought a stage -

wow! i havent done all of these… but i tried cramers the other day and it worked for a little while but then got slick again… i use a shit load of dry hands so i can grip… but then my hands get too dry and makes poling unenjoyable-because at that point my hands arent the problem, the pole is.
although I do battle with sweaty hands, the pole has been a pain the last few months.. it waa great during the summer -
i steam cleaned it to getmy grip aid junk off and it just ended being slicker than ever right after

PLEASE let me know what you decide to do! i am having so much problems with mine during the cold months, slick slick slick. i keep throwing out resorting to powder coat because I hate that i spent all this money on it just to powder coat it… I would rather just buy a second pole to have instead of powder coating…

Dry hands. And lots of it… I like Dirty Girl Poletice too, just bought some and have been using it every pole session…
Side note: my brass pole has been crazy slippery since the weather has been cooler.
Pixi had the same issue with her brass with the weather and she got hers powder coated and is doing fine now.
