OH ok I think I've definitely been overtightening then! Yikes. Thanks sensual!

I'm always afraid I'll either overtighten my xpert or it'll be too loose and fall on me. It's never fallen on me, but I was poling a couple days ago and I think I may have overtightened it because it wasn't spinning smoothly.  I could've sworn it was starting to bow slightly, so I'm hoping after I took it down it will be fine next time I put it up.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have used my pole since I got it. I don't want things to be going wrong already! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

…am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? Can't tell if I'm being naive or if my mind is just too dirty hahahahahaha

It's been helpful to hear that everyone has different experiences with body piercings healing.  I think I'll start using a saline soak with a shot glass a couple times per day and see if it gets better. If not, I'll go back to the place where I got the piercing and have them take a look at it.

Kitty, what do you mean by a crease line? Like slouching over so your stomach creases like a wrinkly worm that's doing crunches? LOL

Mine doesn't look red or swollen, so I think that's a good sign.  It does however look like…an unhealed wound (how profound of me..) when I move it a little to clean it.

Hearing that it can take up to year minimum makes me feel a little better. I thought something was wrong since it hadn't healed yet. None of my friends have it done so I can't really ask their experiences with it

  • Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm curious what happens if you over-tighten the pole when setting it up?

Eeeeeeee! how exciting! You’ll have to let me know how you like the TG! I’ve only ever used chrome

  • OHHH I've seen these before! They are so cool!

Not sure if this helps any, but this link might have some info about the names of it (if it's the correct thing) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_gymnastics

Ewa, are there any other nearby studios at which you could try out other poles?

The only size brass pole X-Pole sells is a 45mm, so that could solve both issues lol! I've only ever used chrome so I just decided to get what I was familiar with.

Wow reading this and watching the correct vs. incorrect videos was rather eye opening. I’m a little embarassed to say my studio taught inverts my first class, and definitely by means of a kicking entrance. I’ll be sure to be mindful of my body movements and correct this immediately!!

Thanks for the advice. It calmed my nerves, and I've been fine in class with a 50 thus far (I do know there is a slight gap between my fingers when I grip the pole though). I think larger purchases in general tend to unnerve me haha

And like you guys said, sensual & hookedonpole, there's always going to be too many options and I can always sell my pole for a new one if I get too fed up with it in the future.

I can probably go back to being excited about getting my pole now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif lol
