Glitter, this is a GREAT, GREAT idea because so many of us don’t have a support team or just don’t have the willpower to make ourselves accountable! I’m in https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif !
My goals weight-wise are to tone up, particularly my abs, legs, & arms. I hope I don’t lose too much weight doing this but I won’t cry if I lose 5-10 lbs as long as the boobs don’t go away https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif! So, here’s my plan:
1. Eat at least 4-6 small meals a day.
2. Eat some form of breakfast even if it’s only yogurt & juice.
3. Exercise at least 30-60 minutes per day including cardio, weights, strengthening, & flexibility.
4. Drink at least 4-6 cups of water daily.
5. No eating too late. If I eat later than 8:00 pm I will eat something like a protein bar, yogurt, fruit, etc. Gotta be good for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif .As for the pole, my goals are to get all the spins & inverts I was able to do before I stopped poling:
1. Basic Invert & Inverted V
2. Gemini & Scorpio
3. Corkscrew, Boomerang, Chair
4. Basic Butterfly
5. CradleGood luck everyone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

@Redken, you are the BOMB! One day I hope to be almost as good as you!

Yep, I’m going! I can’t wait. Hope to see you there.
I’m thinking about driving so I don’t have to rent a car, but flying is so much easier. I haven’t taken care of lodging yet, but I have family in MD and DC so I think I’ll be OK. Otherwise, I’ll more than likely go on Priceline, Orbitz, or Hotwire to book my room.
-
Didn’t know that. Thanks for the tip!
-
Will do Roxy Pink!
Are you going to the convention in MD this month?
-
Great points! Hadn’t thought about the lack of momentum. I guess I think it should be slower, but I need to go a tad faster.
No lotions, oils, etc. I even washed my hands with Dawn and rubbed them down with alcohol.
Thanks for the tips. I’ll keep you posted on how things go!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’m considering going. I haven’t decided if I’m going to drive or fly. I like the idea of going & coming as I please so I’ll probably drive.
Is anyone going from FL, GA, NC, or SC?

Hey there Foxy,
Like you I stopped poling and made a resolution to get back on the pole. If you’d like we can be a support for one another as we get started again.
Things are going to continue to get better for you…Just believe it and claim it. Depression is so easy to fall into…don’t let it engulf you. Like you, I was headed in that direction when my Dad died. It hurts, but I know he wouldn’t want me to ge that way.
Hang in there.

Hey there! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the forum, and I’m so glad to be back.
I’m going to try this challenge as I believe it will give me the needed kick in the butt to get back on the pole.
Happy New Year!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Well, the 3 inch cut came from being made to try spiral climbing up the pole in the following manner:
I had to reach the top of the pole by count 10, then count 9, then count 8, then count 7, and so on. I had on my new Pleaser 5" platform heels and while trying to do what the instructor requested with less than 5 second breaks to catch your breath between each climb my heel caught the back of my calf and cut me. I didn’t realize it was a bad as it was until I just gave up because I couldn’t do it anymore. That’s when I saw the damage. I couldn’t practice after that because it hurt too bad. I probably should have gotten stitches, but I didn’t realize it was that bad. It healed, but I can feel a very slight rise on each side of the scar.
On top of getting the darn scar I almost threw up due to sheer exhaustion after trying to hang in there with the 20 somethings. Needless to say, I stopped going to that class!

I’m so sorry to hear about how things are going for you now…Remember this is only for a short period. You will get through this.
Where are your kids? Is it possible to stay with them until you get on your feet? Also, is possible to refinance your vehicle to get your payments decreased instead of selling it so that you can keep your transportation?
Please know that we’re all here for you. I know how it feels not have a supportive, loving family. We are all your family here on StudioVeena and we love you unconditionally.
Take care and please do stay in touch. I’ve left my phone number for you in private message. Call me anytime OK.
Love,
Tracey
