Here is my most recent back side progress pic, I could show you the before pic, but im in a thong. It is a great way to show what squats can do. And there is only a 2 pound body weight difference.

Although the difference is huge! I mean literally, i had a flabby, wide flat butt  and now after consistent squats, lunges, deadlifts, leg presses etc, i have been able to completely make over my rear view. I still have a lot of work to do, but I am pretty happy with the progress i have made.

So believe me when i say squats are the best thing ever for the butt.

And if you are getting bored with squats, then you can def shake it up! some of my fav ways are hellish lunges (10 squats, 10 walking lunges, 10 more squats and thats one set!)  hurricane circuit (which is a whole lotta jumpsquats with a whole lot of back squats) and squats around the world ( 5 sumo squats, 10 plie squats, 5 plie squats on releve, and 5 sumo squats as one set!).

Im part of the squat booty fan club, lol!!

not daft at all. You want your hips to be square with your knees, not facing away, knees pointing neither in nor out. Your whole body should make one nice line. Your feet may be wider or closer together depending on the type of squat you are doing, but your hips, knees and ankles should all make one unbroken line.

Here is a good video for beginning and you can see what I am talking about. The guy doing the squat is in a nice line, hips and knees square and in line (sometimes referred to as stacked, depending on who you talk to). He uses the chair in the beginning so you can see the technique for that as well.

Squats are my fav exercise and they are the best as far as building the lower body. If you are having problem with squats then there are things that you could do to help. You can squat into a chair to help you get the core movement down.

Make sure your form is spot on. Keep your chest and head up at all times, bend at the knees and push your butt back using the hips. Keep your knees over your toes and hips over your knees. If you are falling over, it can be that you are not keeping your chest up and are leaning forward.

You can substitute stability ball wall squats to help or by using a leg press machine at the gym.

There are dozens of variations of the squat. Back, front, sumo, plie, sissy, romanian split, jump squat etc.

Lunges and deadlifts are the other staple exercises to creating a lovely back view. Step ups and glute bridges are as well, But squats build the butt like no other exercise can!

Im in San Diego so the weather isnt too extreme. We dont have air condition or heat in the house so it would be the same no matter what room i put it in! For the hot days i have fans and the cooler nights i have a small heater. I find the garage holds the heat from the day so if i pole at night its been the perfect temperature.

But like i said, San diego doesnt have too much extremes. Thats probably not very helpful for anyone else.

Thank you for the great ideas! Very crafty and awesome.

Since I cant pole right now, im spending a lot of time reading and researching. Found a thread on here about the Mipole light, so i grabbed that on ebay for 25 bucks. Amazon and spencers sell it as well.

I found a few prints on amazon that I am going to order and frame to go up on the walls. prints are 2 – 5  bucks a piece and the frames i can find local, will probably look at goodwill or thrift stores first, then craft stores.

I have an old set of satin sheets that I am going to cover the garage door with, the pillow cases will be used as well, but im not sure if i am going to cover the table with them or make another project out of them.

The floor is going to have to wait for a bit, and im going to let my husband install more lighting when he gets home. Its sorta his job in the navy and he is good at figuring stuff out like that. And I am ordering a new ipod dock stereo thing. I have one out there now, but i dont think it quite projects enough. I also spent some time last night uploading cds to the computer for new dance music.

So that is where I am at now.

That is as far as i have gotten for now.

Since we just moved in to this house, I have a pile of stuff in the garge that is supposed to be put in yard sale. Once i get rid of the sell pile, i think i have a way of hanging a sheet on the garage door so that I can cover it. Im also going to paint the walls, they are finished dry wall just not painted. And I have afew more things that need to be done to "hide" some of the garagey look.

But my biggest worry was the flooring, i think i am going to try the panel thing on the floor. The mats are really nice for a "cushion" so that when you slip or fall your not landing on a hard floor, but they are a PITA to clean! Best way i have found is to take them all apart and hand wash them using the hand held shower attachment. Very time consuming. I was thinking maybe just invest in the fake wood flooring stuf that kinda just fits together. But not sure if the hubby will go for that.

I also was considering  the rope light things but couldnt figure out if i would feel cool or cheesey with it. Idefinitely need more lighting out there, you can tell by the video. I saw someone had lights around the top of their pole which made it like a spot light. The video looked cool, i dont remember who it was though. And i have no idea where they got it.

Im sorta torn at the moment of decorating or getting more clothes and shoes, lol!

I dont understand why other's photos would be a cause to ask why you would have a profile on a certain site. Other peoples ideals and choices are not a reflection of your own. Just because someone likes to dance in a thong doesnt mean everyone does (or that there is anything wrong with it).

I am a member of a different site where it is well known that some women post very provacative shots to get attention and to have people "follow" them on the site. That doesnt mean that my photo album is full of pics like that, nor does my husband ever question why i have a profile there. In fact he has taken every photo i have ever put on there so he knows what kind of pictures i post.

As the others have said, not everyone has the same opinion on what is "trashy". I am not offended by nipples nor do i find them trashy. its just a body part. Doesnt mean im gonna slap a bunch of photos up of my nipples, but i also dont judge others who would like to. I mean, they arent my nipples so really who cares???  If a lady can rock a thong then more power to her!

Close grip pull ups are easier because you are able to use your biceps more to help pull you up. Wide grip is harder because you use your back muscles only in order to pull your body weight.

Right now i can do 3 unassisted wide grips from a dead hang, and about 10 close grip ones.

If you want to get better at pull ups, you gotta do more pullups.

What i do is start with a set of unassisted pull ups, as many as i can get, then do 3 more sets of assisted pull ups, each set to failure and increasing the assistance with each rep.

Other good things to work on are lat pulldowns. shrugs, and bent over rows to strenghten the overall muscles of the back.

I wouldnt say that pull ups should be used for an overalll fitness assesment, however I think they are the gold standard when determining if the muscles of the back and much of the arms are strong.

It wasnt until I really started to focus on building a back that i could do any pullups.

We can dream all right! Right now i would love to be able to use the whole garage for the pole/dance/fitness space. But trying to convince my hubby is going to be a chore. Im taking over half of it now. With him on deployment, hes never seen this house or the pole (he knows i have it though) so the more i get done before he comes home enhances my chances of at least keeping my half! LOL

Why not just do bodyweight exercises or plyometrics?? Im not a fan of using 1.5 lb wieghts for anything. My purse weighs more than that!

    Squats

    Lunges

    Pushups

    Pull ups

    Planks

    Tricep dips

    Headstand pushups

    Burpees

    Wall Sit

    Step ups

    Calf raises

    Bird Dog

    Supermans

    Bridge

And the list goes on. Resistance bands are a great tool and can be used in many many ways. But as far as a "no weight" exercises go, the above are great for beginners and are a great core for beginning an exercise strengthening program, all of them can be modified to be easier or harder to suit skill level.
