YEA! @Brass Ovaries, congrats on taking both the 1st place and runner up titles in the Fitness division, AND the 1st place title in the Ultimate division! You guys ROCKED IT!!!

Welcome to the pole community! Age is just a number, you’re not too old! The Texas pole community is rapidly growing which is super exciting! I currently am an instructor at a studio in Dallas and there are plenty of women around your age coming to class!
Actually, There is a competition coming up that will feature a category for women over 40! 🙂

I think since the start of this thread there have been two competitions formed: Miss Texas Pole Star Competition(Sept 2010, 2011)and Miss Texas Pole Dance Competition(June 2011)
Personally, I LOOOVE the idea of having a showcase! Being able to show the world your style of pole dance without being judged would be so fun and less stressful! There are soooo many different styles! It would be such a great show!!! I’m in!
Oh and I’m ready for another jam too! Ive been trying to prepare myself for Felix’s workshop this Saturday…needless to say… IM EXSTATIC 🙂

Well. during the clense it wasnt that bad, i dropped some weight and everything was fine but when I was all done I went almost right back to where i started =(

I did enjoy feeling as healthy as i did while on the cleanse. I wasnt bloated, I didnt feel heavy or sluggish, and after the first day or so I did feel a bit more energetic.
You should give it a try if you have the money to spare! (and if not then go check out the cheaper cleanse programs at your local vitamin shop). I know lots off ppl who have tried it and have had awesome results!

Thanks for the input Ani, I *kinda* know Brynn from competing together at Miss Tx Pole Star and from facebook. Id LOVE to get involved with performing at events and concerts like you Brass Ovaries girls do! I need to make a demo video i think….that would be fun. lol

Ive been taking 1-2 tsp every night before bed. I do agree that its a little expensive but I believe its well worth it. The 8 oz bottle i have should last me a little over a month I imagine. The capsule form is the same thing, its just not as quickly absorbed.

Vodka, could you give me your email so i can send pics that way? The pole is about a year and a half old and its in perfect working condition! The only reason im selling is because i have a one bedroom apartment and the pole and stage takes up our entire dining room area, and my friend is selling her bad ass dining table, and i havent had time to use my pole in a while….

1000 calories per hour seems really high. That’s 16.6 calories per minute. The average adult runner only burns approx. 10 calories per minute.
oh when i said "an hour or so" i should have put something more like 2 ish hours. 1000 cals per hour is definitely crazy i totally agree. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

I wear my Polar heart rate monitor to class sometimes and usually during an hour long class I will burn upwards of 200 calories. Thats with a good 15-20 minute warm up/stretch and mostly basic spins and dancing. When im practicing on my own…an hour or so of inverts/climbs/spins/dancing…ill burn around 1000.
Keep in mind though that everyone is different! You should think about getting a heart rate monitor that has a calorie counter! Mine was only like $60!

If you send in a vid Sarah youre considered in. For the ultimate division there are about 7-8 applicants last time i heard. $75 is pretty steep but it will be alot of exposure and a whole lotta fun! I hope you decided to do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Liz Lounge has a pole (with railing around it) for the gogo dancers but the pole we will be on is a 25 foot xpole (provided by Vertical Fitness) which is going onto the main stage =)
