I read this earlier today and didnt have time to reply! I am disgusted!!! Especially at the hypocrisy of the whole thing!!! To not print this gorgeous picture and then to add further insult by keeping referring to the pole as a ‘stripper pole’! And then those green M&M ads!!!! HYPOCRISY!!! UGH!!! OH and then to try and pawn you off with the ‘T’ excuse!! Im furious!!! I LOVE the emails that people have sent! I only hope that my email is as well written!!! And I really really hope that the M&M company are really embarrassed!!! They should be!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

Oh dear, I can’t get the lessons to work though! There’s a diagonal line through the play symbol…Any idea why that is?

I agree with many of the posts above, like my post on the blog said, it is just a song! A cheesy, fun for the summer song, it’s nothing to get worked up about in my opinion. I had said it before, you can choose what you want to make of YOUR pole dancing, you can choose to take all the sexy out and never wear high heel shoes, go strictly with tricks, for you, but I can assure you there will be someone who will still ask you if you are a stripper, I personally don’t care, I knew it was going to be this way when I started pole dancing, I knew people were going to raise eyebrows when they see my pole in my living room, if I weren’t ready and up for it then I would’ve switched to pilates or yoga. I, personally think pole dancing is ALWAYS going to be associated to strippers and therefore to the sex industry, it’s a reality, this is how it started, this is how it has always been, when people think “stripper” they think “sex”, this will never change, I will never argue with someone, anyone, until I’m blue in the face about how pole dancing can be perfectly accepted just like jogging for example, I would clarify that I’m not a stripper once, if they believe it good, if they don’t then fine with me too, I would also do it in a matter where I let the person know that there’s nothing wrong with strippers, and in this case, with porn stars, because when you fight them tooth and nail to not be associated with “them”, you are confirming what they thought in the first place, that these kind of women are just horrible human beings and you feel degraded being associated with them, and that is just wrong in my book, there are all kinds of people in this world, good and bad, crack whores and university students, mothers, some of them are strippers and porn stars, some of them are not, just like some porn stars can pole dance and who knows, maybe some pole dancers have been in porn, it’s just the way it is, your pole dancing is personal, you make it your own, what you want it to be, but none of us can deny its ties, to me, we are in many cases, degrading and snubbing the women that gave us the sport, and the women who we now admire and pay to take their workshops by trying to deny and separate completely from them. And to be honest, the people out there listening to this song are most probably not even paying attention to the lyrics or reading into it like that, they are probably thinking “song about porn star dancing, sexy women, looks like a strip club, there’s a pole, shocker, next”. LOL
Everything Dayanara said! LOL

When I know Im gonna pole that evening I dont apply lotion that morning, I try to apply it the night before. It really all depends on how much lotion you use, how well you rub it in and what type you use.

This happened to me too but I just took everything off, i.e. dome & all extensions. I left the 2 main parts together and they fit lengthways in my car. (its about the length from the front passenger foot space to the back seat.)
Or check out Charley’s suggestions! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I dont know if even that would be safe? If your pole was to fall it could get seriously damaged and you dont want! I understand how you feel though! Its SO annoying to have to wait! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

MemberAugust 14, 2010 at 3:08 pm in reply to: Wht do you say when someone says spinning pole is "cheating"Spin and static are two COMPLETELY different things. I dance on both and I can honestly say that neither setting is less or more difficult that the other…just different. There are certain moves that may be easier on one versus the other (i.e. I couldn’t do the teddy on static at first, a couple of weeks later I switched to spin-mode just to give it a shot and got it pretty much on the first try. Also, I could not get the superman on spin, but static worked out just fine. Now I am capable of doing both these moves on either setting pretty much equally…go figure, lol!)
Basically, what I think it all comes down to is that people need to RESPECT THE POLE regardless of what their own preference is. Personally I don’t like using brass poles, but some people love ’em. Some people hate chrome, but it’s my favorite finish. I know of people who hate X-poles, I know of people who hate PS, I know of people who hate Li’l Mynx. We all know that the Electra and Peek-a-boo can be hazardous, but I’ve seen videos of chicks who FREAKIN’ ROCK on those poles and then people just leave comments like "Your pole sucks." WHO CARES what pole she’s using, you know? I’m sure she’s already aware that it’s not the top o’ the line, but that’s what she has to work with and she knows how to WORK IT! Give the girl some credit for her skill, you know?
Anyway, I digress, but I really hate when one poler tries to discredit another poler’s abilities w/ such frivolous pretenses as "Well, I only use static because spin-mode is cheating." or "Nice moves, too bad your pole sucks." and "Chrome is nice, but you gotta be tough to use brass…ever try it?" Not that any of these comments are truly tear-your-head-off mean, but it’s sooo catty. A lot of the time when I see a comment like that the first thing I think to myself is "WOW…jealous much?" because that’s what it really boils down to. People see that you are awesome on spin, or that you are awesome even on a cheaper pole (and they still can’t do much even though they paid $300+ for their pole, lol), or maybe you swear by a certain finish or even diameter and then they kinda roll their eyes like "Oh, that’s why, because it’s easier.". Yeah, it is easier, isn’t it? It’s easier to talk down to somebody and try to discredit their abilities than it is to get off your cloud and just say "Wow, I wish I were as good as you are on ______. Maybe I should practice more." LOL

A lot of pissed off comments from people complaining that its not pole dancing! WHO CARES??? And technically it IS pole dancing considering its a pole!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Trena is that screwed into the ceiling at all? I just can’t wait for the extension to get here. I’ll have almost the whole 9′ of usable pole, so that will be a definite trade-up!
NOPE!!! Its not screwed into the ceiling at all!!!!

Phew! I ACTUALLY read the whole thing, all the comments and I am now calmer! There were a couple of negative comments to Veena’s message but only a couple so thats not so bad! Most people really liked the video link that Veena posted. The guy that posted the sexy video of Veena angered me but someone highlighted how there were none of her kids in her room at the time and how Veena had already said she does sexy dancing privately so I calmed down! Basically what I got from the comments is that there are some people that are too close minded and they will NEVER accept pole dancing as a form of art or fitness so its best to just leave those people alone. There is no point wasting your breath cause it will fall on deaf ears!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive only read the first few comments on the ladies post and Im already infuriated!!! I KNOW I shouldnt read any further but I just cant help it!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I have plastered ceilings and to stop my pole from marking the plaster my husband put in 2 pieces of timber flooring wood that was left over from out hall floor. Its been like that for more than a year now and Ive NEVER had problems with it! It could be a quick fix for you for the time being!!

You dont need to subscribe to the lessons to be able to see this video. However if you wanna subscribe to the lessons anyway, all you have to do is click on ‘lessons’ at the top right of this screen, then click on any one of the lesson videos and it will give you the lesson payment options. I dont know if there’s a different way to do this but thats how I did it when I subscribed to them! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

The black ones I have are Juliet-209 and the silver ones I have are Captiva-609. The black ones dont seem to be listed on the site anymore! The silver ones were the ones I told you that they didnt have listed but she ordered them for me from Pleaser USA!

OH!!!!!!! One thing I meant to tell you but TOTALLY forgot! Be careful of the rhinestones on your shoes!! There are rhinestones on the back of the heels of my silver shoes and some of them fell off! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Luckily I found them again in my pole room and I super glued them on again! If they do fall off and you have to glue them back on be careful with the super glue, only put a tiny bit on cause I put too much on one of the rhinestones and it dulled the shine and leaked a little onto the heel!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
