I re joined classes and felt disheartened as people were flying ahead. I’m in the same situation now with a hamstring tear. I eased my self back in by not putting any pressure on myself to get new moves I just worked on building strength back up again a little each day. But it may be a good idea to train everyday for an hour or 2 but nothing too harsh it will gradually get better and may prevent injury in the future 🙂 hope this helps.

Yes it was same for me but your best going to a PT instead of a doctor they don’t seen to help much and maybe get some muscle inflammatory cream for your leg. It does take a while to heal it sounds like you have the same prob as I did. To strengthen my legs I was told to walk more when it gets a bit better. Gentle stretching and rest too helps as it heals but go easy on it until you see a PT. I hope this helps and I know how your feeling I really hope you get better soon 🙂

I started from scratch I had no strength at all I can dance though but that’s just comes natural. I only do pole and a bit of yoga and flex training after I’m on the pole. I have been poling for 3 years. I think I’ve realised the more I get on the pole even if it’s only for half an hour to and hour I find strength builds a lot quicker it’s something I’m trying to do more this summer so I can build strength for pole a bit better and lose a bit of weight too.

I do only pole, yoga and body weight exercises as I don’t like weights too much if I use them I use light weights.

I can’t link because I’m on my phone but if you search on YouTube (how to put up an x pole ) it might give you an idea of how it all works. Veena sells a pole too, there must be a video here of how to install that one too check lessons and tips section maybe. It’s different from x pole but might be a better one to start off with, I can’t get one as I live over seas. I currently have an 45mm x pole which is great if you have smaller grip, and it’s easier to do tricks on, 50 mm is for bigger grip. There are also different finishes like titanium and chrome and powder coated.

Oh yes I hear ya even when I put mine on now I still feel a bit awkward in them lol you just gotta wear them all the time to get used to them… But I became a bit lazy and stopped wearing them lol because some times I just enjoy the freedom of not wearing them but I love them because they make my legs look longer can’t have the best of both worlds it seems 🙁 but I’m gonna stick with my 6 inch glitter heels for my next few months of training because I’m in a show in sept and I would like to be different and wear heels as not many gals seem too at our club.

I totally agree veena thanks for sharing this post. I have recently strained my hamstring stretching for the splits just when I was on a roll with my splits and pole moves I have now had to take a good break to heal and I’m now behind with flexibility 🙁 I feel crappy and your right it’s inspiring to see flexy people but also frustrating to see so much progress on my FB feed and I’m going back instead of up it’s been getting me down and putting me off enjoying my pole journey which really sucks so I feel a bit better now after reading this knowing I’m not alone and I know I will come back fighting even it takes the while summer again to get there I know I will. I’m getting there.

Well I thought it was cool I can’t do half that shit yet lol as for the kiss yeah seen more risqué stuff before so I didn’t mind it, it was part of the performance just like acting hey what can I say I’m open minded 🙂

I use them they are brill support for my wrists when doing handstands.

I must try that Orla with mine for I was slipping a lot today, I think it depends how sweaty or oily your hands are on that day. Might be best to clean it often,I thought less would work but it’s not working for me now. But cleaning chrome with vodka does seem to leave it more grippy at the time.

It’s taken me almost 2 years now to get close to my front splits and I’m still working to get them flat and I have a good wide straddle. I don’t stretch everyday just 2 to 3 times a week I tried the everyday thing and I wasn’t getting any where at all.

I need to get posting on YouTube lol !!

Hi there thanks for sharing your troubles. I had a similar thing happen to me a few years back, yoga and pole helped me get there. Stick with it because trust me it works 🙂 mentally and physically. Built my confidence up and helped me forget negative people and their comments. You only live once, life is too short to worry so do what makes you happy! XD (hugs)

I’ve heard it’s bad but I don’t know. I prefer sports massage.
-
I did ice for 1 day. I rested for a week and kept a hot water bottle on it. And took Epsom salt baths. Hope it helps and you get well soon.

Hi did you try Rest,Ice,Compression and elevation? then heat once the swelling goes down. Maybe if it’s just a tightness try foam rolling Veena has great foam rolling lessons for tight muscles and tips for splits. maybe take a look at the tips on the site thats what I did when I strained mine and it worked well for me I’m now back on track with my splits. It didnt take long to heal either. 😉

Yes I was the same for a while winter seems to be the worst. It’s seems it’s never the right time to train!! But after getting my self some vitamin D I feel a whole lot better. Maybe check out some health food shops for some healthy energy shots you can take before training they help too. Even set an hour aside a week half for pole training and half for stretching it might ease you back in. 🙂

Haha veena that was a cool vid lol haven’t seen that one. The hello boys was always difficult for me I never thought of putting the pole off to the side like that must give that a go.

Lol MD same thing happened me once!! Power yoga is cool I really liked that. Now I just do my own at home.
