I’m happy to hear that you saw someone that seemed to give a damn.
I swear, being in the medical field has caused me to be such a stickler for bad health care. I think that all medical providers with bad attitudes and poor bedside manor should be dropped off a cliff. If you don’t like dealing with people and their complaints …why in the hell would you become a doctor?!
I’m glad you found someone you liked that listened to you. Good for him!

i didn’t get to watch it last night.. boohoo.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif does anyone know how the couples did? i am watching it tonight tho.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Everyone did ok for the most part (without giving too much away for anyone who hasn’ t watched it yet) no one really sucked, some were really good and made Mary scream, some were just safe, some were lacking personality and one couple got put on the hot tamale train!
Did anyone vote? I meant to but I forgot!

Ok talked to the doctor..and nothing is wrong! He just said he wanted to talk to me about my test results and if I knew any reasons I could be peeing so much, sorry if that’s too much info! But I yelled at him for phrasing it so poorly haha..I was worried!
Oh and I talked to my dad and when I told him it was nothing he said "I was kind of hoping the dr. was going to tell you he found out you were pregnant from your urine sample…I want to be a grandpa!" Ewwwww! No way!
Awww…that’s so cute! His biological clock is ticking!

I know what none of those moves are (except the brass monkey and the superman) so I really can’t wait to see you do them!

I hate when they make you wait!
At the clinic I work in we give news over the phone because our patients are usually scitzing out waiting to know if they have skin cancer or not.
We give them the good or bad news over the phone so that they can start researching and gathering questions to present to us when they come in for their appointment.
I hope everything works out for you and it’s nothing serious. I think that if it was serious, he wouldn’t be making you wait.
"Ms Glitter Hips, we got your test results in and I need you to come in right away"….now that’s a statement to be worried about lol.

Krystalgem,
Welcome! So you’ve discovered the secret of pole dancing: it ain’t as glamorous and easy as it looks! It involves lots of grunting, sweating, red faces, and falling.

Like you, I really struggled when I started poling. I almost gave up many times in the first few months because my progress was so slow and I was not looking sexy at all. Nine months later, I still struggle with my form and style, but I’m able to do a lot of moves. I just recently got the gemini and scorpio. The sexy comes out once you’re comfortably confident with the moves you’re doing. At 5 foot 1, I’ve gone from a snug 14 to a loose 10, but that just happened in the past 3 months. I’m a 38 yo smoking mother of 3 who hasn’t worked out regularly for about 10 years. If I can do this, anyone can. Don’t get me wrong, I worked my butt off (literally!) and had to do a lot of strength training before I could invert. Don’t try to compare your progress to the "pole sevants" who master the pole in a couple months. Compare your progress to where you started. And when you’re having trouble, get silly and just dance around for fun!

Bruises are SEXY!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheese.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gifHell yes they are!

SissyBuns,
The only way to end the stigma against pole dancing is to educate people. Perhaps you could show some of your daughter’s friends (the open minded ones) the non sexy side of poling, ie the impressive tricks and gracefullness. I’ve shown those kinds of videos to coworkers and most have stopped blushing when I talk about my pole, though many roll their eyes.
I’d gladly educate her friends but I don’t think it’s my place to expose other peoples children to pole fitness because of the stigma that comes with it. The last thing I want is for some parent to call me bitching because I was swinging on a pole in front of their young impressionable daughter LOL.
I think I’ll hold off on that unless it’s parents that I’ve met and that I don’t think would object https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I am so excited someone told me about this site! You all are so supportive of eachother and you all look so great.
So I have had my pole since april and haven’t practiced everyday it was off and on now I am going to make routine practices. I love how you all look so graceful and sexy but when I do anything I just feel like the girl off of king of queens! lol Loved that episode by the way. I feel like my upper arm strength is horrible I have tried the cradle and can’t even pull myself up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif So my question is how long for anyone who is a bit heavier, did it take you to learn to make your moves smoother and the lifts and invert? I guess I just want to know I am not the only who struggled in the beginning. I feel like everyone looks like they just jumped on and did everything! lolDon’t feel like you’re alone. You’re a beginner and that’s why we’re called "beginners" LOL. because we’re just beginning. Over time you will build strength and fluidity but it comes in steps…baby steps for me LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Step one is to never compare yourself to some of dancers on this site. They’re too awesome! I just aspire to be like them one day but I know that I’m just starting and that will all take time. Work with what you got and as you continue to practice you’ll improve and be able to do more things.
I can’t even come close to a decent cradle so don’t feel bad https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
We will get there eventually.
P.S.
Don’t feel like your weight holds you back either because I’ve seen big girls climb a pole like a spider monkey and skinny girls struggle to lift them selfs up for seconds. Once you build strength you’ll be suprised and what you can do, despite your size. -
Awww I’m sorry to hear that Sissy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
Yeah some kids can be very cruel. They like to have the limelight and attention and they will use anything and hurt anyone to get it. I think in your case hiding it is a good idea. It’s not that you are ashamed of what you do but it’s more so as a protection of your daughter seeing as to kids aren’t as mature as adults and able to understand the fitness aspect of it. Hell some adults aren’t even mature, my recent events prove that lol but I think it’s wonderful that you go the extra mile when considering your daughters feelings.
My sister is the opposite of you. Bless her heart. She’s a very good person but a lot of the times she only thinks about herself and she puts her kids second. When she visited this weekend and asked how much my pole cost I lied and told her an extremely high amount to dissuade her from being interested. (I know she’s hella cheap LOL) I also practiced some crazy advanced moves to intimidate her as well. I kinda feel real guilty about it but I think it’s for her own good. She is not structured enough to handle it. There are always neighborhood kids in and out of her house so it would definitely get around. And her kids are already embarassed enough by her as it is. I love my sister to death, we are so close and we have so much fun together but she really does need to grow up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I worry about her…
J.C.
Yeah I try to take my kids into account with everything I do. I’m raising them to be open minded and non judgmental and also how to deal with people who don’t see the world the way they do.
I’m sorry to hear that you had to go to such lengths to disuade (did I just make that word up) your sister from doing something that I know you love so much. At least you’re able to recognize that it wouldn’t right for her though. You sound like a good brother to have https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Can anybody tell me what pole spins/tricks are good for toning the triceps. Im happy with my biceps but not my triceps! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
Also does anyone know how to target fat on my lower back/sides?!Why don’t you try weight lifting to strengthen your triceps? You don’t have to do anything major. Just get yourself a couple of dumbells (5-8 lbs) and you can work your triceps while you watch TV.

I think maybe I was born with someone else’s experiences embedded into my brain. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been full of incite. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
