I just ordered my pole for my 27th birthday (which was March 26th), and now I have to wait until the end of the month for the 50 mm titianum poles to come in. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif I don’t know how I’m going to survive the next couple of weeks! I’ve known I was going to get one since January and now after all my saving, I have to wait longer! Jesus, help me! I’m going to go crazy waiting on this thing!

I have been buying pole after pole all month and having issue after issue. My husband is putting up the cash and buying me a good one this Thursdsay so I’m waiting….and waiting….and waiting…..just like you. Just be patient. I was going to serve drinks and I knew I was going to partake of the beverages. I told my friends "Do Not let me get on that pole after I’ve been drinking"…what’d they do?
Let me get on it. And I had just learned the Gemini too…so I decided I show it off.

Something really should be done about that company pushing out that piece of crap. It’s really not right to dope people out of their money like that and lead them under false pretenses. I’m glad that your hubby is gonna get you a good pole tho!
I agree. When my hubby put it up I gave it a good yank and I couldn’t believe it. I mean I’ve never used a pole that required assembly before so I don’t know if that’s the norm or not but it was horrible. I told my husband I can’t believe they sell that to people. The ridges where the parts connected weren’t smooth. It was just horrible.

Sissy… strange, and I really hope that I’ll even get to enter in this months challenge… or touch my pole whatsoever, but I still haven’t gotten a tracking # for my pole via shipment?? I was supposed to get an email about it on Monday, and while I know how long I should expect to wait for it to arrive, I’m a little peeved at the amount of time its taking to get any information whatsoever.
If I get it early enough I’ll definitely try to enter though! *crosses fingers* This is the ideal challenge for me, because I’ve always thought about how much fun it would be to learn all the pole work, and go win the purse at a real club’s amateur night. Blow the crowd away. Hehe, my little fantasies!
That is odd that you haven’t heard anything yet about your pole. Maybe you can try giving the company a call. I got mine and it’s a piece of crap so I have to get a new one, so we’re still in the same boat LOL.
I’ve always fantasized about dancing at an amateur night too LOL. If you did too good though they’d probably figure you were an undercover proffesional and disqualify you LOL.

My husband put it together for me and I didn’t even waste my time trying to swing on it even once. That thing is a piece of crap. I should have known a pole that came in 3 pieces was a bad idea. It was completely unstable and wobbily and just all around F***** up.
I’m pretty bummed about not being able to dance at home yet (especially after the Flirty Girl fiasco that I’m too embarrased to mention) but my hubby says he’ll get me a "real" pole for Mothers day https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Well this is fitting! Considering I don’t get my tracking information for my pole until tomorrow (and hopefully will have my pole in a week or so) I will officially be an amateur! Ima try and find a way to video tape me strutting around, since I’m positive thats all I’ll be able to do– *crosses fingers*

I’m still kind of new to this but the studio I go to requires platforms with a quarter size heel and ankle strap. I think this is for safety purposes. Mine cost me about $45.00.

Let me just say I have a huge respect for nurses. My mother and sister are both nurses and they are wonderful at the job they do. Nurses are to me, more important than the doctors!! And anytime one has to be in the hospital it is always the great nice nurses that make them feel better. Nursing school is incredible hard too so u get kudos from me!! I love nurses!!!!

I think if you just make yourself train that it will get easier and you’ll be able to do a lot more combos.
I think there are some moves that are difficult because of the awkwardness – inverting being one of them and gemini and scorpio – I actually just got scorpio in my opposite side and it looks better but it feels like I am going to fall. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
What is weird though is sometimes if you can’t get a move and you do it opposite arm you can do it, lol!
That was me with inverting! I was taught first on the left. I left the studio depressed because I couldn’t do it. The next time I went back and tried on my right and bam, I was upside down. I thought I had just gotten stronger (in a week, yeah right) but it was because I was on my "bad side". LOL

Ok, I youtubed the Dizzy Lizzy and the side spin and I couldn’t find an example of the side spin, but it looks like the dizzy lizzy is it…it seems like it might be just a tad different though. Most of my left handed spins are so awkward it seems dangerous LOL. Even my catch spin (Thats what they call it in my classes, not sure what it’s known as outside of the studio) going left is deadly. I feel like my left hand is so weak. They make us do every thing on both sides there which I think is good practice so when I get my own pole next week and start practicing at home I’m going to make sure I do the same.
