I have two tats. One on my leg and one on my hip. When I got the one on my hip, I hit the pole 3 days after getting it caught the pole right on it and ripped the scab right off which lifted most of the color. Needless to say. I had to have the whole thing recolored weeks later. Don’t pole till it’s healed all the way! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

I have a question. I have been seriously considering trying to start a studio in Amarillo. As far as I know, Dallas is the closest one to me. Are there any studio’s here in Texas that offer instructor certification? If I’m going to do it, I want to do it right.

I’m def gonna be in Dallas for the Jan. date. Dallas traffic and the huge tall bridges….. Scares the crap outta me. But I’ll be there if I have to take every backroad in Texas to get there. I have a friend that lives in Livingston (spelling?) that could help me around Houston if we set a jam up there too! It’s sooo cool how many people are getting in on this! I’m ready for Christmas to be over so I can get started on the new year!

    Hello Gelina,

Yes I live in Houston Texas. I would love to come but just dont know if I can make the time of 9a-12p (I have class that day). So I will keep watching to see what the final time will be.
In the future I would love to host one in here in Houston. I own a studio down here that would accomodate everyone with no problems and 8 permanent poles. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
    Thanks for explaining.

There’s no way I could make a jam before Christmas but I’m all for January. Seeing that Dallas isn’t that far. I could bring my travel trailer if we need some spare beds for anyone. It sleeps 8 and has all the luxuries of home. Goodness I don’t check in for a day or two and things have really progressed.

Ok so if we are still doing the jam in Jan. I’m all for it.

Personally I have no problems with a male poler joining in. After all isn’t the whole point of a pole jam to have fun and learn from each other. I say the more the merrier.

WOW WOW Someone’s been busy. I’m in. If anyone else needs help getting together some funds to come I can help a little there. Or if someone wants to share a ride down. Just holler. This is gonna be soooo cool. I can’t wait.

Just south of Amarillo here! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Dallas isn’t that far from here. We should just all set a date El Paso being far south and Amarillo being far north. Dallas/Ft. Worth area would be a nice middle ground for everyone to meet if we could find a place to meet. I’d be willing to take down my pole and haul it with me. I’m sure other’s would too! Maybe after the holiday’s….

I personally saw nothing wrong with the performance. I would not have had a problem allowing any of my children to watch it. My youngest is 15. But then agian I have done my job as a parent. My kids understand how much strength and hard work it takes to even climb a pole much less to any tricks. They also understand that this sport is no different than any other sport except that this one has had a bad rap from the start. You can take any dance and make it sleazy. I know I get more out of this than yoga yet people have no problem with that. They teach it at our local high school.

They teach pole dance at your local high school?!?! OMG I wanna go there!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

No no they teach Yoga at the high school….

I built a reinforcement for under the top dome of my pole so should it ever come loose the pole wont shift. At all. It would literally have to pull my ceiling down for my pole to fall. Right now my pole is set up in my bedroom in a mobile home so the ceiling isn’t that great anyway. On top of that its a vaulted ceiling which is suppose to be a no no for x pole. Well I built a wedge that goes under the dome and it works just fine. Either way is easy to do and you never have to worry about the pole comeing loose.
