Yep! We gotta represent, haha! I heard that there was a studio where I live in Poulsbo, but they moved to Port Orchard! WTF?

I hear ya!  I moved to the Bremerton area from San Diego, and was spoiled by the fact that I had pole studios all around me!  I don't want to have to commute so far (like have to take a freakin' ferry) to go to class!  So I like other's ideas of booking private lessons here and there, but re-signing up for the online lessons!

I finally got this move down today!!! I did what Phoenix Kazree said she did, and got a feel for it on the ground first. Then I was able to get into it from Superman. I found that i really had to push into the pole with my foot a lot more than i originally thought and arch my back up less than i originally thought. What I found that I was doing wrong before was arching my back too much, so I ended up being parallel with the pole, and that’s why I was slipping.

I’ll definitely have to check it out, rope sounds awesome! Does she only do private or semi-private lessons? I couldn’t see an actual schedule for the aerial classes. Thanks for the info about Envy-Fit too!

corbyOconnor, I have never taken a rope class before! It seems like it would be some good cross training for pole! I’m up for it! Do they have a website? I couldn’t find it online, unless it is the same as the yoga fusion place that kept coming up. It’s also good to know that there are pole studios closer to me than Seattle! I was going to be really bummed if I had to take a ferry anytime I wanted to go to pole!

Try out The Dollhouse Fitness in Encinitas! It’s my favorite studio in San Diego. They are doing a buy one get one free special right now for new students too!

So fun to read all of your “useless talents!” I can put my feet behind my neck so I look like a pretzel!

The Dollhouse Fitness in Encinitas is awesome! The instructors are really great and friendly too. They are always keeping up with the latest moves/techniques in the pole industry too.

The Dollhouse Fitness in Encinitas is awesome! It’s about 30 minutes from downtown. Otherwise, there is also Pole Sinsations downtown.

I agree with you ladies. Pole dancing has given me such great confidence and has changed the way I look at myself. This would have been such a difficult question for me to answer a couple years ago. But now I’m just thinking, “Only ONE thing?” I love my eyes, my hair (which I used to straighten religiously, but now realize how awesome my wild curls/waves are), my shoulders and arms, my flat stomach, and my legs. Oh ya, my hands and feet too (they are nice and feminine). Oh ya, being half-Mexican makes it so I have a tan year-round! Woo hoo! 😀

I just did my first full Brazilian (aka- The Sphinx, haha!) last month. They gave me numbing cream to use before, so it really didn’t hurt too bad. I think it hurts much less than waxing. I’ve had very little hair regrowth already.

Optimum Nutrition whey protein from bodybuilding.com. It doesn’t have tons of fillers like other brands, it’s a about 130 calories for one scoop, which has about 24g of protein and only 2g of sugar. The double rich chocolate flavor is the best, and if you mix it with ice its WHEY tasty (haha, couldn’t resist that dad joke)!

Hi Felisha!  I moved to San Diego back in September because my husband is in the Navy.  Woo hoo for military wives!!  Haha!  Anyway, have you been to any pole studios around here yet?

Thanks! Glad I haven’t bought them then! I have also heard that they don’t have any instruction on the moves, just the name of the move and picture.

I too am working on my shoulder mount. I can do it, but it looks a bit sloppy. I’m trying to be controlled so it actually looks pretty! I’ve been doing what looks like the decline crunches that chemgoddess was talking about, but laying on my back on the floor and holding onto my pole with my hands above my head. Hopefully that makes sense! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
