    I had it on my forehead from falling out of a Russian Split. I use Maderma scar care every night. You can find it at most Pharmacies.

    Everyone’s body chemistry is different, so you may need to experiment to see what works best for you. The weather, and the pole material also come into play. I have sweaty hands in general. I like to use Dove Clinical Strength Deoderant on my hands before I go to bed. If it’s a humid day, I may also use Girlie Grip, which is similar to Dry Hands. Do you pole at a studio? Maybe they have some grip aides you can try. Otherwise, you can buy them online.

    I’m 51. I was always thin was I was younger, but after 45 my weight became an issue. In the last 3 months I have gained 10 pounds. Hormonal fluctuations and the aging process makes everything so much harder! Thank you for sharing!!

    It’s has been cloudy for a while and we already had our first snow. I’ll look into those lights, Chem. They sound interesting. I cannot go through another winter like last year. I’ll want to divorce myself! Going to
    Increase my SSRI as well. Just for the winter.

    Don is wonderful to work with. Here is my advise. ~Make sure you are not at all hungry. ~Have a list of some moves you would like to do. Look through some of your own photos or vids and pick what you like the best. ~ Get some floor/non-pole shots. I forgot to do that! ~ Have a couple of outfits. Sexy ones, and a little less sexy, lol. ~ Have fun! I agree that it will be fabulous to capture this moment in your life!!

    ~~~Social Media Feeds?- I limit my pole friend and follow lists to people I have met either through SV or a workshop. To me, social media is a personal relationship and I want to be invested in their journey! It doesn’t matter if it’s a 3 second clip or a full dance.
    ~~~Encouraged or Discouraged? – As an “older” poler, I am always encouraged. I know what my limitations are (although they weren’t as limited as I first thought!) so I don’t get discouraged by what I watch. Ever.

    ~~~~Video Clip or Dance? – I admit that most times I would rather see a clip, but that’s usually because of time constraints. I am awed by a full dance and there is nothing like a live performance!!!
    One of the things I find myself thinking of repeatedly is the difference in the level of “difficulty” in just a few short years. My first Midwest Convention (2012) was a much different experience than 2013. More gymnastics, more janeiros and fonjis…Don’t get me wrong. I think these tricks are impressive, but I enjoy the lyrical, emotional, artistic form of pole. (I do know what you mean, Charley!)
    I will be performing for my first time this October. I said I would never do that. The ONLY reason I am going to is that it is a local venue for a charity. Most of the audience will be non-polers. I would never perform at one of the conventions, mainly because I won’t put that kind of pressure on myself.
    I can appreciate where pole is going, if for no other reason than having an outlet for those who want to go in that direction. However, I do hope we can maintain some of the “easy-going” forms of it. “What would Layla do?” Indeed!!!!!!!! Have fun, be yourself, and fuck ’em if they don’t like what you do. Be a Goddess!!!
    There’s always a Jade Drop that takes you right down. Another option is getting both legs back on the pole in outside leg hang/basic invert” position. Then you can use any number of exits. I like to swing around to inverted crucifix and dismount.
    I’ll be 50 in September!! All I have to say is we rock! So much crap happening with our hormones and our bodies, yet here we are enjoying this. I started 2 1/2 years ago and never thought I would have gotten as far as I have. Perhaps, one day my body will finally say enough, but for now I am enjoying it immensely.
    In the large scheme of things, I think the best course is is what Sparrow does. You need 2 FB profiles. One for pole and one for personal. I am retired, but have to say that if I was still in the business realm, I would have definitely gone this route. Once you split them out, then you can post a status that you will have a new personal page and will be removing non-pole members from the current page. Unfriend him and decide if you want to send him a friend request under the new profile. You don’t even have to use it if you don’t want to, and you also don’t have to remove anyone else from the current profile but him. He will never know. If he questions you, then it is clear he’s a perv and it will be very clear what action needs to be taken.
