You're making me blush!!! 🙂
Honestly, if you find a good photographer, you are golden! Guaranteed that if you talk to your studio about it, they'll have girls lining up to get photos done.
What woman wouldn't want great photos taken of them doing something so neat?
Some women like pedicures and getting their hair cut/styled… I'll take photos that make me feel good about myself over those ANYDAY! 🙂

MemberFebruary 17, 2011 at 11:02 am in reply to: how to excuse your hubby from your pole sessions🙂 Maybe practice when he isn't home if you have the time?
I get up around 6:30am, have breakfast with my lovely bf before he leaves for work at 7:30am and then the place is mine until I leave at around 9:15. I get all of the sexy practice done in the morning (floor work, transitions etc) 😉
When both of us are home i'm practicing the challenging moves (gem/scorp/special k/ etc) so that when the time comes to have a spotter close by, there he is so that I don't crack my skull open.
I totally understand why some ladies aren't comfortable practicing / performing in front of their man. Poling is NOT graceful all the time and if you want someone watching you at all, you want them watching you at your best. Some women pole for themselves and for no one else. 😉
Whatever your situation is, be honest, but gentle. If you're shy, let him know that. Much better than having him wonder if he's doing something wrong by watching.

Heya! 🙂
Aww I bet your man will LOVE getting some pics from you!!! If you were closer I'd set you up with the gent who takes photos at our studio as he's pretty damn amazing!
If you take lessons, you should check with your studio, as they might offer this, might be interested in offering this or may be able to set you up with a photographer. If not you could most likely get a photographer to come into the studio and take some pictures, it's just a matter of finding a local one.
Ours has it set up this way (for $100/each):
– minimum of 6 girls getting photos done (makes it worhwhile for the photog)
– each girl has 20-30 mins
– photographer provides a disk of all of the photos taken during your session, 1 for each gal (trust me, they can usually take quite a few photos in 20-30mins, I usually get about 110-120 pics back on a disk)
– Choose your fav photo and he/she will print an 8×10 of it for you
Great part is, you still have all of those photos on the disk to take to a local printer / kiosk and print to your hearts content (and post on SV)

This looks awesome! Might have to invest!

If you're tight for space, usually about a metre on each side does the trick. Some people manage to do it in less space some need more space to extend their legs and arms.
Perhaps clear everything out that you can and look for the biggest expanse of space that you can spare and pop that pole right in the middle of it 😉

Grrrrrr I HATE that pancake stretch! 🙁
In class, our pole teacher (who is also teaches yoga) has us bring our mats long side against the wall, lie down so that your legs are at a 90 degree angle up the wall (your booty will be against the wall too).
From there, Splay your legs out as far as you're comfortable and hold for 30-45 seconds (massage the inner legs if you have to while doing this), from there, bring your legs up about an inch, bend your knees the tiniest amount for a few seconds and bring your legs back to the straight leg splay.
Most of the time after that little knee bend, you're able to bring your legs a little bit further down into the split position.
Usually we do this for about 3-4 minutes (about the length of a song)
Be patient with your straddle (V) splits! Don't injure yourself.
Yoga helps for sure

I take classes at a studio 3x week, but Veena's lessons are a fantastic option if you have a pole at home!
She breaks the movements down prefectly and emphasizes the correct muscle group to use when performing, doesn't seem all that important when you're starting out, but man is it helpful when you're trying to perfect a move.
You should try out SV's lessons for a month and see what you think 😉

Hello 🙂
I have a TG Xpert and have had no problem at all with it 🙂 Delivery was super quick and they were fantastic in the customer service department.
I've heard great things about the PS poles too, minus some customer services issues.
You most likely (fingers crossed) won't have an issue with either 😉

practice makes perfect 😉 it's just hard when you want it to happen NOW haha 🙂

Hey Vamp 🙂
Hang in there! it's a toughie for sure! (i'm working on the same thing right now and have the same issue)
It's all about building that core strength and control, just trying to throw your legs out there will work occasionally, but doesn't generally look pretty haha 😉
My teacher tells me that core strengthening workouts will help (proper crunches, yoga, pilates, pole holds) and in the meantime to keep on inverting as it's a core builder too 😉
Veenas lessons will deinitely help though! Specifically the "Tuck Invert" lesson in the intermediate section 🙂

🙂 Thanks Tigger! i'm trying to work it out right now, but i'm def leaning towards being there!

Xpole is good like that! (usually)
You must be so stoked!
Best of luck breaking it in! Make sure you give it a good cleaning before using it 😉

Youch! I get the crunches some days too. Not nearly as bad as you're describing though!
Yoga might be an option for you to open up the hip sockets a bit more and prevent the crackling and crunching. Gentle poses to start focusing on opening the hips with gradual progression 😉
Just a suggestion! I'm def. not a physio 😉
