Not a morning person either. I usually get up when my 4 yo son gets up about 7:30. Then it’s all about getting him breakfast and going for the day. I’d have to get up at like 6:00 to get a workout in before he gets up. Which would be doable if I could just force my butt into bed as soon as he goes to bed at 9:00. Trouble is that is when I get the house cleaned up and whatnot.

I saw that there was a “30 day take off” thread going. I haven’t been around on SV as much lately due to my business…blah…blah.

As much as I hate morning, I think that is the only way I’d be able to gain some consistency. Once the family is up the day very rarely goes as planned…

I live in a very dry climate. So dry that I use lotion every day and don’t have any problems slipping on the pole. We get summer temps up to 95F and winter temps down to -15F. I have a TG Xpole and I love it. I go to a studio that has chrome and I don’t stick nearly as well there. I always come home and practice the new moves we are given in class and can achieve them quicker on my TG pole. That being said, I don’t sick so bad that it removes skin when I’m trying to spin or slide. I’ve never tried brass but just thought I’d give you my experience with TG. I’ve heard great things about PC poles as well, but again, I’ve never tried them.

Can’t believe I found SV a year ago! Last years Costume Challenge was the first one I’d seen and I loved watching all the videos. Maybe I’ll participate this year….

Love the Pretty Woman costume. A favorite movie of mine. I am impressed the costume fits you 18 years later. Props to you!

  • My Mother is always amazed by anything that is “hands free” even a simple pole sit or crusifix. She says it defies gravity to just stick to that skinny pole.

For those that like country music, “Ready, Set, Roll” by Chase Rice is a great song for an upbeat pole. It’s just a feel good song that makes you smile no matter how bad your day was.

Started from scratch 6 months ago. Forearm stand was a no go. Pull ups were zero. More i have muscle I’ve never seen before. My arms and legs are amazing to me. My core is stronger too. However, my flexibility is still non existent. I’m working on it but it’s slow going. You’ll be amazed How quickly your body will change.

The studio i started at had 50s so that is what i got. I’m really comfortable on it. I’ve tried smaller but i get hand cramps. To each their own. I know several people have two or more poles in different sizes and finishes. I’ve got an xpole TG and am planning on getting a SV pole soon 😉

When i started at a studio the owner made us sign a waiver saying we would not come to class under the influence of drugs or alcohol. First offense would result in your membership being permanently revoked. We’d go for margaritas after class on Friday night. But booze in the studio was a no go!

My FIL just came and installed new cabinets in my master bedroom. The pole stayed up. I love what i do and i agree with what Veena said about hiding it. It just reinforces thoughts of pole being dirty. However, if it is easier for YOU and your relationship with your brother then take it down if you want. You can’t force people to change their minds. It’s all about what will make their visit most enjoyable for you.

Ha ha deleted my comment. My phone is so helpful with auto correct. What i was trying to say is that I also love my tg pole. Enough grip to feel secure trying new moves but not so much grip that it tears up my skin. Glad you like your new tg. Being happy with the finish/grip makes all the difference i think.

Feeling strong, sexy, and confidant. Not just on the pole but in life. Pole had positively affected all aspects of my life by making me stronger, happier, and more confident in myself.

Young living farms. Amazing, high quality, not as expensive as doterra. They have huge lavender farms 30 min from my place.

I have found out that i build strength much quicker if I’m eating right and going to the gym as well as doing pole. I only go one or two days a week and lift and usually run a couple of miles each week. Nothing major. But that along with eating well and pole have worked really well for me. I have 2 friends who are doing the same routine with me now and they are both amazed at the difference it has made. Keep at it. One day it will just happen for you.

I’m in an “off” period right now. I was on my pole almost every day but slowly went into burnout. Now i pole once a week or so. Just not feeling it. The grey stormy weather doesn’t help my mindset. Point is, most of the people here have had an off phase. It’s okay. Sometimes if i don’t feel like dancing or working on tricks I’ll just use my pole for a workout. Side crunches, pull ups, leg lifts, as a stabilizer for ab work, etc.

Love my 50 but i have big hands. I can use a 45 fairly comfortably and never tried a 40.

Check the bearing in the dome. Mine was welded in crooked so no matter how i put my pole up it spins goofy. I would be more worried about it but I’m my pole room I’ve got a permanent mount that it spins great on. But, like i said, check the dome. If it’s crooked xpole May replace it.

January 18, 2014 at 12:55 pm in reply to: How much training do you all do per week?

Right now I’m only putting in 1-2 hours a week on the pole and 1-2 hours a week doing conditioning/cardio. When I get my remodel finished and can keep my pole up 24/7 I’m hoping to up my pole time to at least 30 min a day. Even only doing the 2-4 total hours per week I’m soooo much stronger than I was when I started 4 months ago!

This thread disproves any stereotypes about pole. Anyone and everyone can do this (and I feel they should 😉 )

I’m a dog groomer. I’ve been grooming for 11 years now. I graduated Grooming School when I was 20 and have never looked back.
