Everyone progresses at different rates…and yes it can be frustrating for those who have been at it for longer. But I can totally understand your post (Poledork & Foxy). I wouldn’t say that I progressed as quickly as you ladies did…but once I got my pregnancy weight gone and I could focus on pole tricks..things just seem to naturally come to me. I do have gymnastics and figure skating background (possible advantage). I just started teaching a couple tricks classes at a local studio and the girls were shocked when I told them that I’ve only been seriously poling for maybe 7 mths (I’ve had my pole a year though). The only disadvantage that I’ve seen is that there are some fast progressing polers out there that get these difficult moves real early on and they just want to add more tricks to their check list…but their technique can be sloppy and sometimes dangerous and they don’t try to "polish" their moves…That being said…I haven’t seen anyone on here that I would group like that. I think this kind of community supports fast and slow learners and teaches us to continually improve our skills. You ladies are doing great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Great progress girl! The falling angel (I call a cross knee release) took me forever to get down….I had the concept of what my body was supposed to do…but I couldn’t get over the pain! Keep up the great work!

Once you get the hang of putting up and taking down your pole..you can easily do it under 5 min! Good luck and congrats of finally buying your pole!! Great choice too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have pole dance dreams all of the time..sometimes dancing on a stage at a club..but most of the time my dreams are replaying my recent practice sessions and why I couldn’t get a move. A lot of times I have the "I got it!" light bulb and my following practice I nail the move. It’s like I learn from my mistakes while dreaming…at least most of the time! Usually in my dreams I am WAY more flexible than what I am! And when I wake up I could swear that I could do a straddle all the way down…but it dosen’t work out that well! hehe! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I do tend to daydream a lot about pole! I’ve even caught myself in mid conversation and totally missed what the other person was saying…
I think this is just another sign of addiction!:)

I do the shouldermount dismount too for core strength…but I don’t know if I would be doing them before being able to do a shouldermount! Someone correct me if I’m wrong…but usually the sm dismount is taught after the sm is learned. I found that doing the sm first allowed me to understand where my body was so then when I started doing the sm dsmt I already had the body memory down. Have you already been able to do a sm dismount? I was totally freaked out by the dismount the first time I tried it…and I had been doing sm for a few mths already…more power to ya! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

hehehe…I’m flattered V! That was my split grip vid. Glitter this is a great way of learning how to invert/chopper up on the pole! My aerial invert/chopper has become much smoother since I started doing this! I started with the "roll up" and then progressed onto the "V"…which I can honestly say is still pretty hard! I watched my vid and it looks like it was a heck of a lot easier than what it felt like!
